Summary: A message that most westerners haven't yet realized...
Review: This is an incredible book that cuts every fluff down and explains the key points to the reader. One of the greatest things I have learned from this book is that God (the Infinite Intelligence) is not outside of us. Rather it is connected to us. In fact, this powerful Godforce is within us. Most religions (especially in western culture) have created the shameful idea that God is somewhere out there and we must do things in order to get its approval. This way of living is from the ego. Rather accept that you are God from the spirit and you will begin to see your desires and dreams manifesting into reality. Remember, instead of begging and praying for things to happen, begin to affirm with faith and soon you will begin to create miracles in your life. May you continually experience and become aware of this powerful organizing intelligence within you...

Summary: Not for Wealth Seekers
Review: Isn't this title a contradiction of terms? How can I use spiritual principles to get the material things I want? So I wondered when I opened the book. In Dyer's first principle, "Becoming Aware of Your Highest Self," he encourages the reader to affirm: "I have a divine ability to manifest and attract what I need or desire!" I got stuck on the first page because I couldn't picture anything particular that I want to manifest. A house with more storage space would be nice, but we love our neighborhood and I'd rather make frequent donations to charities than go through the hassle of moving. What I really want is to go on one of those spiritual excursions to a mystical land, but the kids wouldn't enjoy it, and I can't go without them until they're older. Finally I read on without choosing a goal to manifest, and I began to understand that following these nine principles would help me to manifest the kind of life that I desire, even if I don't know what particular things I want. In the process of "manifesting my destiny" I can learn the art of authentic prayer, "inviting divine desire to express itself through me . . . for what it is that is for my highest purpose and good, or for the greater benefit of all mankind."

Some of Dyer's nine principles, such as "Connecting the Divine Source with Unconditional Love," and "Reacting to Your Manifestations with Gratitude and Generosity" are not new to me, but Dyer offers specific suggestions for implementing them which should be beneficial to readers, whether they are trying to manifest better health, a new job, or simply to achieve a sense of peace and harmony with life.

I began this book wondering how "getting everything I want" can be a spiritual goal. Focusing on this question helped me to realize that the things I want most are not things, and many of them have already manifested in my life. Dyer assures us that he is not advocating a materialistic lifestyle when he says: By turning the purpose of your life into one of service and leaving behind your self-absorption, you discover the irony of manifesting. The more you choose to be of service, the more profoundly you experience unconditional love, and the more you find materializing into your life." Readers looking for a "get rich quick" program will not find it in this book. Dyer's nine spiritual principles to manifesting your destiny are neither quick nor easy, but anyone who follows them should find abundant spiritual treasure and contentment with life as it unfolds. -Emily VanLaeys, author of DREAM WEAVING: USING DREAM GUIDANCE TO CREATE LIFE'S TAPESTRY

Summary: Manifest this book into your life!
Review: One of the most, if not "the" most spiritually and emotionally uplifting books I've ever read. If you're not familiar with Dyer's work, you'll be amazed at how simply yet eloquently his words come off the page and find personal meaning for the reader. You will see similarities between yourself and the common negative thought patterns, belief systems and behaviors that many of us fall victim to. However, we don't have to be tortured by these thoughts and our past forever. Not only is the content inspiring but he also gives guidelines to help put these principles of manifesting into practice. You will learn how to trust in yourself and become a master of creating what you want to bring into your life. I hope this book excites and motivates you the same way it has me.

Summary: Deceptive title, textual inaccuracies, poorly written
Review: The title of this book is deceptive. The author promises that if you follow his spiritual principles, you will "get everything you want." This appeal to human greed and American consumerism runs counter to most spiritual traditions. In the body of the book he qualifies his title and says you will get what you want only in the way that "God" decides to deliver it. The book was difficult to read. Dyer's intense egocentrism permeates the text. There were also many grammatical and punctuation errors, which prevented the flow from going smoothly. Dyer also seems out of his element as a spiritual writer. He does not understand the chakras and falsely attributes sexual reproduction to the base or root chakra, which is actually tied to the function of excretion rather than reproduction. He also misrepresents Jung's collective unconscious as a kind of repository of human conditioning, which is not at all what Jung had in mind. Such misinformation makes the rest of his message less credible.

Summary: The road less travelled
Review: This book shows us all a path that is often not followed. Simple principles on how to use the energy that is you to do so much and elevate your life. Its not about money, ego or anything. It show us all how we can purfiy ourselves and get to a point where everything just falls into place.

If you plan on reading this book, I recommend "Your Sacred Self" by the same author as prerequisite for this one. That will make this book more enjoyable.

Summary: There's An Easier Way
Review: Anyone who has read and put into practice the methods for manifesting outlined in Shakti Gawain's "Creative Visualization" or H. Emilie Cady's "Lessons in Truth" already knows how to do this in a much simpler way than Wayne Dyer recommends. I am sure the methods he is describing will work for anyone who chooses to use them, but really, the various meditations and tonings, etc., aren't necessary for the same results. I would also like to know if I'm the only female reader who was totally put off by his constant references to God as "he" and "him" and his use of "man" to indicate both male and female. Good grief, this is the 21st century! In addition, I find his style to be somewhat preachy and smug. Most people who would buy this book have to have had some experience of these ideas, and yet his writing assumes that the reader is totally unaware of any of the notions he is putting forth. He writes in a breathless, revelatory fashion, as if he is the first person to ever think up these ideas, when they are actually just a rehash of books and classes many people have already read and experienced.

Summary: Subtle Yet Profound
Review: A great book. I found it subtle, yet profound in it's impact on my life. The tapes are excellemt for listening to in the car. I love everything by Dr. Dyer, including "Wisdom of the Ages". Another fabulous read is "12 Secrets for Manifesting Your Vision, Inspiration and Purpose".

Summary: The best so far!
Review: Every morning I read a few pages of Manifesting before I leave for work. It is concise, easy to read and understand. I am an intelligent person but always found the subject of manifesting difficult to understand let alone incorporate. This book opened that door for me. If you like Dr. Deyer's other books, give yourself a major spiritual leap forward and add this one to your collection! I promise you will love it! Thank you, Dr. Dyer

Summary: Author of The Golden Guru
Review: I will tell you up-front that I am biased because Dr. Dyer is my absolute favorite author. Given that, when I thought he could teach me no more about myself, he has again written his most powerful book yet, about getting everything you want in life. Can you manifest your desires? Can you manage the coincidences in your life? The answer is yes and you must read this book to learn how. I have experienced it in my own life with my own book The Golden Guru. When I needed certain things and people to show up in my life to complete my book I used Wayne's techniques described in his book and they worked. I urge you to read all of Wayne's work but especially this book.
