It centers you and is a nice, short meditation to close or open your day. I have given it to many of my female relatives and friends. If you are open to the books' ideas, it can greatly impact your outlook on life.

Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: earnest and at times, unintentionally funny Review: Abraham Lincoln once tactfully said, "For those who like that sort of thing, that is the sort of thing they like." I bought "Daybook of Comfort and Joy" expecting to find New-Age flavored uplift and inspiration, and the book does deliver that. Sarah Ban Breathnacht has written it with the best of intentions, guiding the reader to seek abundance by simplifying her life. It seems to this reviewer that following her suggestions would only replace one kind of clutter with another. Style is another major concern of Ban Breathnacht as she urges each woman to find her own authentic self. Yet she seems to be concerned as much with outer trappings and appearance as with inner attitudes and values. Given this dichotomy, the book has a schizophrenic orientation throughout and may provide the thoughtful reader with a few laughs which the author did not intend.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Little time, still in need of spiritual nourishment? Review: I am a working Mom. I rise at 5a.m. Yet I do need some kind of thought at the end of the day to put me on track. Especially when I do not have time to consecrate to long spiritual/ self help books. This book, does rapidly call back to mind essentials which may have been read before or interesting new thoughts. I felt, with this book, as though I had a close friend who accompanied me during the year. Someone who I could 'chat' with for even 5 minutes a day. Sarah, thank you!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Must-Have Life-Changing Book Review: I started this book in June and was so sad at the end of the year that it was finished. But yea! you can keep reading it day after day as long as you want to. I was so surprised at the little suggestions, which when I tried them were so life changing. I have never been so grateful to an author before. I give this book to all my favorite women in my family and friends in hopes that they will also find happiness and fulfillment in the Simple Abundance mindset.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: wonderful Review: A book full wisdom and sense. In the frenzy of everyday life, Sarah reminds you of whats important - gratitude, simplicity, harmony, order, beauty.. a lot of which you probably knew when you were small but somehow forgot as an adult, on entering the world of stress, high expectations, lots to do, and little time to do in. Some of it makes sense first time round, other bits you have to experience first before they make sense... and you find yourself flicking back to this page and that, finding new meaning in the words you've read several times already... kinda like a modern day bible for women :)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Helped Change My Life Review: Thank you Sarah. I received this book as a Christmas gift in December of 1998 and have not stopped reading it since. Trust me, this is not an exaggeration. I began it on 1/1/1999 and it became such a part of my daily life that I started right back on it for 2000, 2001 and now 2002, and you know what?, I'm still finding new things each time. Sarah will help you branch off into other areas that you don't even know exist in you. She has opened the door for me for new authors and (gasp!) reading mysteries (which I NEVER thought I'd like). I hope if you buy this or receive it as a gift that you get as much enjoyment out of it as I have. Good luck and Godspeed!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An Attitude of Gratitude Review: For five years, I've combined this tool with Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way", and it has changed my life for the better in profound ways I never would have imagined. The most important lesson for me was striving for financial serenity...that's when the abundance came flowing in. Say what you will about the writing style or the essays. They're merely the messengers. Adopting a daily attitude of gratitude is the key for moving us to a better, more peace-full world.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Great Divination Tool Review: This book is one of my best friends!! I use this book as a divination tool. I just open the book up and where ever I land, it goes with what I need to know for that moment in my life. It is amazing how this book always opens up to the right page for me. Everyday, I open this book up, it is different. I have read it once, so I don't miss anything. I absolutely love this book. Sarah Ban Breathnach knows how to get my creativity flowing.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A feel good book and have to be the right person for it! Review: I find it hard to write a good review about this book, because I'm not a great believer (in the book can be found many quotations about God), a young female (it's more a book for women in their 40 something and/ or whom have children) and do not live in the USA and/ or England (there are mentioned loads of US traditions and from England as well). Next to that the book is going on and on about that you need to enjoy the simplicities in life by slowing down + meditation and it dicusses ordinairy household stuff like gardening and cooking. Uhm....you've to be very committed to read every day and to hear her going on about her daughter, husband and the many great people that have ever (even 100 or more years ago) lived. For the last thing she uses loads of quotes and book recommendations which can become too much from time to time. So my main point is that you just can better go to Oprah's website, because there you can find loads of the same stuff or that from Cheryl Richardson (which is alike) and to find your authentic self you should seek in the same place for Phil. C. McGraw (whom can be harsh, but that's only because he needs to get through to you and in the end he's most of the time right)!
