Rating: Summary: Now I know why my life happened the way it did. Review: I started out looking for ways to improve my memory and overcome some of my thoughts of fear of failure. I've listened to people in person explain to me the part of setting goals to succeed in life. These goals that I had set for myself were never achieved, and I had set it in my mind that I was not to be of those people who succeed and have great abundance of all things in their lives. This book explained how I had set myself up for failure just by thinking about failure is going to happen. I had to sit back and reflect on my past activities and thoughts. I remembered the many times I said "I can't ....", "I have no money...". I have fifty four years of bad habits to overcome, I thought to myself. It really put a crimp in the works. I had to do some plumbing in my house, you know cut and solder all the piping. I was thinking of getting a plumber, but I thought I can't afford it. I was afraid of doing it myself in case of 'screwing it all up'. I was really feeling depressed about this, thinking about how am I going to get this plumbing work done. I read the book a second time, only this time I did the exercises. It was hard at first, my attention span wandered. But by being consistent and just thinking in my mind the picture of me cutting and soldering all the copper pipe I had it in my mind that I was confident of doing this with no problems. I already had all the supplies bought, so after 2 weeks of plumbing pictures flowing through my mind, one morning after getting up I just went ahead and did the plumbing, without thinking of what would happen, or wondering if their would be leaks. I just had it in my mind that eveything would be ok. I had no fear. After it was all done, and I turned the water main back on----everything was ok. The thoughts of fear seem to disconnect a person from the abundance of life around them.

Rating: Summary: The Power is not in your mind? Review: Every book on positive thinking like this one and Napoleon Hill's books are all incorrect. There is only one book? on this planet (and any based on it) that really reveals how to change your life. Ever book on positive thinking always quotes "as a man thinking so he is". In this book titled "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind" it quotes it like this-> "as a man thinks in his subconscious mind .." All of them miss quote this line. The correct verse is "As a he thinks in his heart so he is" Proverbs Chapter 23 verse 7. The power to change your life is not in your mind? thinking correct thoughts or positive thoughts is only part of the formula to create change. The truth is "All that you are and all that you have today IS a result of what you've SAID! and BELIEVED! in the past. Your ACTIONS! either put you over, or they keep you under. Take a look at Proverbs Chapter 18: verse 20 and 21. And Romans Chapter 10: verse 8 to 10. Also Mathew Ch 19vs26, Mark Ch 9vs23 and Mark Ch 10vs27.
Rating: Summary: The power is within us.... Review: This book was very interesting. Since I've read it, I have been doing the self-talk and the affirmations, and it really works. If you surround yourself with postive thoughts, it creates positive energy and that is what this book is about. How many people do you know that seem to attract bad luck or other negative people? It is almost like a vicous circle, bad things happen, you have negative thoughts in your mind, and more bad things happen. This book will give you the tools to break that circle, use your mind and power of thought to turn things around. We have the power to make our lives a fulfilling and wonderful journey, by just using your mind and thoughts to get there, and if you read this book, you can find your way.
Rating: Summary: Maintain a Mental Picture of Success ...! Review: This author seems to anticipate whatever excuse, exception, or what have you, as he explains the power of your subconscious mind. I needed a book that was different from the hundreds that I have read over the years. And I felt as though I was not growing as much as I had grown, in previous years, after college, when I discovered how wonderful it is to read books, for growth. Throughout this book, as the author presents concrete examples of how to solve problems that others present to him, he guides readers to affirm slowly, quietly and feelingly, as you visualize the end result, and the state of freedom that you will have, because you have faith in your mind. He also advises you to create these affirmations, which you will verbalize at least 3 times a day. Well, for me, I had to say, "But wait a minute! How can I affirm all of these, 3 times a day? I have so many things that I want to solve, so many goals that I want to surpass, and some defeating statements to replace with empowering statements." The answer came to me in less than 2 days, as I chose to type my affirmations. Initially, my plan was to retype them everyday. But, through the power of what I have learned from this book, the 7 pages of typed affirmations all led me within one week to relax and realize my dreams. Things happened before I realized that they really did happen. My affirmations were so strong, so much a part of myself, that consciously, I instructed my subconscious mind to take care of things, just as a leader delegates - and things certainly happened. Read this book, because you deserve to master the laws of your mind.
Rating: Summary: feel fortunate to come across this book Review: I got this book a few months ago, and i don't know where i would be if i hadn't come across it. It's a must; whether you need self- help or not, you need to give it a chance. Everyone has something they need or wish for in life. If you read thoroughly; your life will change for the better depending on how much effort you put in to following the concepts in this book.
Rating: Summary: One of the best new thought books Review: This is the best book about positive thinking that I have ever read. Norman Peale tends to be lightweight. Some of the more metaphysical books tend to get a bit wacky. Murphy sees positive thinking as a form of self hypnosis and self programming so he rarely goes off the deep end into questionable theology. Very well written and well thought out. This is Murphy's best book and is well worth getting. I found myself underlining many passages because of their insight, directness, succinctness. Yes, this book can change your life. I was very engrossed with its ideas for a month or two and see it as a resource to return to whenever I need a new mental outlook. A cognitive approach that is well worth reading.
Rating: Summary: Ancient wisdom made EZ Review: EZ (as in simple, easy, uncomplicated) but not simple (as in thick). Murphy explains how the laws of nature all work together to get what you want. Although the book could do with fewer pages - because of all the examples - there is a point to these examples: repetition. Repetition is a way to get new skills/behaviour in your subconscious mind. If you're into affirmations then this book is the one, it's probably one of the earliest written. Murphy quotes the Bible showing that the Book is not about an outside God but God lives inside everyone.
