Summary: I just started the book, so far so good. Do have questions
Review: I do wait til my stomach growls, but I haven't stopped when I'm full yet. . I'm trying to lose 10-15 lbs.for summer feel health and good about myself. Also I'm a little confused about exercise & water. I feel I should drink water and exercise for my health. My Mom passed away 9 months ago and Dad is ill, so I'm concerned about my health and diet, they're Diabetic and Stroke Victims. So they are taught not to eat fat & sugar, watch their diets. I'm 34 & want to take care of myself. Also how long does it take to lose 15 lbs. Please advise, thank you.

Summary: This works!
Review: I joined a Weigh Down class, instead of reading the book. In 11 weeks I have lost 25 pounds, enjoyed every bite of food I've had, completely guilt free, and it was very easy. I highly recommend Gwen Shamblin's book.

Summary: This program has helped me to lose 28lbs. so far.
Review: Gwen's program has freed me of the slavery to diets. It is so freeing to know that I can have what I want when my stomach growls. I have learned how to stop eating when comfortable and my enery has skyrocketed. I have lost 28 lbs. in 2 months using the principles found in the book. I have only 20lbs. to go and am confident that I'll reach it by summer. This, in my opinion is the only way to keep the weight off once you've lost it.

Summary: Ms Shamblin "knows" her facts!
Review: Being over weight after the birth of my four children, 37 years ago I have tried every diet out there. This one really works. But I feel you have to be in touch with your inner most feelings to make it work. I am finally there!

Summary: God has set me free from tons of baggage!
Review: This book has helped me develop the close relationship I want with God. I've always struggled with overeating and knew it was wrong but never could be freed. God has used this book to show me the way to freedom. Not only have I been delivered by more than 50 pounds. I've been delivered from many other things as well. God has renewed my spirit,my marriage, friendships. He is making me into the women he wants me to be. Not by me losing weight but by me being obiedent to him. This book is well worth the money! I thank God for giving Gwen the wisdom and knowlege to write this book.

Summary: This book helped me to look at myself and food differently.
Review: This book helps you to look at food and yourself in another, better, light. I liked it alot.

Summary: It made me more obsessed with food
Review: The reason she called it the "Weigh Down Diet" is because it has too many rules and because she wanted to sell more books.

I don't want to spend the rest of my life worried about whether or not I stopped in time to feel better or not, and whether is was stomach or mouth hunger. There is so much guilt with this program, and instead of helping me, it made me binge. God is my god and savior no matter what I do to unlock all of this garbage from my past: my insecurities, my fear, my past (my brother as a drug user, my parents as alcoholics) My problems need more help than just losing weight....I thought losing weight would cure everything, but I was wrong. This program wasn't for me, but I'm glad it has helped many out there. This book introduced me to Christian music, that is something I will never forget. Good luck to all of you on this program. God rules!

Summary: The great thing is, it's NOT a diet!
Review: If you're not ready to believe that God can and will help you recover from overeating, this book will make no sense to you! But I thank God that my teetotalling Baptist sister sent me, a wine-drinking Episcopalian, this book. She's run marathons, I'm a couch potato at 226 lbs. Once I got over Gwen's big hair photo and started reading, it pierced me through. I am eating what I probably would have considered starvation portions before, but my energy has skyrocketed, I'm actually enjoying my 40 minute walk every day, and my weight's dropping! I only wish she hadn't called it a "diet." It's simply a healthier relationship with food, based on a healthier, stronger, more glorious relationship with God!

Summary: What wonders this book has brought
Review: After having my second child, I exercised and exercised to no avail. Little did I know that exercising was not my solution. I heard of Weigh Down through a friend. She lost 40 lbs in 4 months. After reading the book, I lost 10 lbs with no worries, and not much struggle. I listened to my body and waited until I was hungry. IT WORKED!! I went to one session and lost another 6 lbs. I still have 20 lbs. more, but I know with God filling my heart, and not SO MUCH FOOD filling my stomach, I will do it. This is the best solution for losing weight and getting closer to GOD!!!

Summary: Not worth the money
Review: I found Ms. Shamblins teaching full of scriptural and medical mis- applications, as well as a large degree of inconsistencies with her message
