Summary: A life-altering book
Review: Bruce Lee's Tao of Jeet Kune Do has affected me personally , in a way that not only includes the martial arts but how I live my life. His unique brand of philosophy which combines elements of Taoism ,Zen , Buddism , Confucianism and various other philosophies has given my insight and inner calm during times of stress or depression by giving me a clearer view of my own life. His philosophy of looking at things unclouded by personal preference opened my mind. I have read the book countless times to the point where the book cover has worn off. A great book which has philosophies that can be applied to all avenues of life.

Summary: A great book about a great way of life.
Review: The Tao of Jeet Kune Do.
Bruce's own words, explans thing very complicated and in many cases complex philosofical problems.
Not only is it about the thinking in JKD, but about how Bruce wanted JKD to be for him self.
This is NOT a manual to JKD but a bunch of scrap notes and thoughts from Bruce Lee. It is HIS JKD, and he just trys to point the way for others to find there own way to JKD. The Tao of JKD is for the open minded martial artist, for him/her that what to know the trouth.
The Tao of JKD is not the trouth, far from it, but it is a finger pointing in the right direction.
Do not just read this book, understand it! And when you do you are far beonde this book.

Summary: Great philosophy by the Legend
Review: Bruce Lee is absolutly a genious and a great insperation. I am studying Tae Kwon Do and got as far as the green belt, soon to be a blue stripe. My progress has been tromendous. I purchased this book, purely out of curiousity. Once I picked it up, I just could not put it down. The philosophy, techniques, various movement and sparring explanations are facinating. I can deffinetly see myself improve just from following the techniques and methods, which Bruce describes. I am more then positive, that I will read this book again in the future. It is a guide to anyone, who is serious about martial arts. Even if you are not interested in JKD, it is still one of the best referrences, I have read so far. Bruce is deffinetly one of the greatest people that ever lived.

Summary: Pointing the way to ultimate "self" defense - a great work
Review: A real eye opener on how to approach the martial arts and to a well defined explanation of the concept of "self defense". Absorb what is useful and disregard the rest.

Summary: THE definitive signpost on the Road to Mastery
Review: Bruce Lee's commentaries on the Martial Arts is indispensable. Realizing that this book was complied from his notes after his untimely death, I can forgive the hodge-podge fashion the book is formatted in. He never intended for this to be published. That said, one cannot ignore the level of mastery he had attained, or ignore his advice. Bruce was an accomplished screen fighter, yes, but what is often overlooked is his level of street-fighting competency. EVERY martial artist he EVER sparred with, trained with, or associated with label him as the greatest ever (even with his bad back) for a reason. If you cannot grasp the level of expertise portrayed in this book, read some others, keep practicing, and re-read it often. Eventually, it will transform the way that you think, feel, and fight. Quite simply the BEST book ever written. Not simply because of his knowledge. Even in spite of the haphazard fashion the information is conveyed in. Bruce Lee KNEW what worked and what didn't FOR HIM, and points "The finger to the moon" for you to find your own truth, using no-nonsense, real world information. Pass up this book, and I guarantee, you will lose to someone who did not.

Summary: If you only buy one martial arts book, this should be it!
Review: Tao of Jeet Kune Do is the most in depth book of all around fighting that I have ever read. Bruce Lee goes into the details of each concept he covers. This is a must buy for the serious martial artist.
