Rating: Summary: Required Book for any Martial Arts Library Review: Bruce Lee lived a short life but he blessed us with the Tao of Jeet Kune Do so that his philosophy, teachings, and findings can be passed on. Tao of Jeet Kune Do is a required book for any Martial Arts Library. Your library in not complete without it. This is more than a how-to-do martial arts book written by the master himself. This is a science book. Bruce Lee breaks down martial arts to a science in Tao of Jeet Kune Do.
Rating: Summary: PROBABLY THE BEST Review: I seriously doubt if there is a better work addressing the martial arts and the philosophy and mystique surrounding them.
This is one you must have in your collection. It is not a book that can be enjoyed or used in just one reading. It is a book to dwell upon and enjoyed and learn from over a long period of time, with several (actually, many) readings required. The simple and quaint illustrations are worth a long look alone. I truely feel that even those not particularly interested in this subject would be able to learn from it and find the work interesting. I highly recommend.
Rating: Summary: Enlightenment Review: I have to say this is one of the most insightful books i have ever read. another review before mine says "the book says to throw it out after you read it"; this does not literally mean to throw out the book, it is merely a metaphor. What the book actually says is to "when you fully understand this book discard it" meaning don't rely on the book to determine your actions and personal development, rather learn form it book and develop your own style, not copy Bruce's action and style word for word. This book is not determined to be an instructional "how to fight" type of book, but rather a book of educational, psycological, and physical understanding.
I highly recommend this book for beginning martial artists, and the veterans of the arts.
