Summary: Some new insights into love and relationship.
Review: How can anything new about love and relationship be written - hasn't it all been said? Mr. Ruiz manages to approach love and relationship with a perspective that is so fresh that it opened my eyes to new possibilities. The author reveals the differences between relationships based on love and those based on fear and gently guides the reader to recognize the symptoms when fear is shutting out the warmth and joy that is our birthright. Reading this book is invigorating - I came away excited to practice the author's principles - and I find myself less judgmental and more relaxed about my relationship with my husband. Buy this book - it is an insightful guide to a more satisfying relationships.

Another book that contains amazing insights into life is Working on Yourself Doesn't Work - by Ariel & Shya Kane. In this book, the Kanes describe three principles of transformation - they are simple but very potent and contain profound and original insights. Unconscious destructive behaviors and attitudes dissolve in an instant through awareness - a non-judgmental observing of what is. Reading this book resulted in some profound changes in my perceptions of who I was, and, as a result, my life circumstances began to shift - as if by magic. I don't know HOW it worked - only THAT it worked. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: This book radically shifts my perspective on love!
Review: I use Don Miguel Ruiz' books, The Four Agreements and The Mastery of Love as I would use a guidebook to another country--but the 'place' is a state of mind called "The Dream of Love". Don Miguel teaches us about this place, how to "get there" while staying here, and how to live in love on a daily basis. His teachings are always so direct and easy to understand, that one can't help but start to use the wisdom as soon as one reads and comprehends the meaning of the stories. This information is vitally important and so forgiving of our human foibles, that I can say anyone wishing to change their intimate relationships of any kind can derive truth and power from these books. The Mastery of Love is aimed at the heart--our hearts. I open this book whenever I am feeling less than loving toward myself or others--I am able to absorb the feeling of love and intent to heal from these pages, and always feel a sense of relief and peace from taking the time to do so. I believe that this book has the power to shift our mass consciousness and our role in changing the way the world is, just by giving us tools to change our lives and relationships. I wish to share the gift of this understanding and hope readers will pick up this book. I love it!

Summary: Love Yourself As Well As Others
Review: If you want to build and strengthen the relationship with yourself and others, then don't pass up this opportunity to learn how to enjoy your unique path through this maze of life. Ruiz offers solid practical examples about how to choose love over fear and hurt.

Mastery of Love is an enjoyable journey of self-discovery. When you pick up this book be ready for the transformational effect. Everyone I have talked to about this little gem cites a different message that seemed to strike a familiar chord. This is the kind of book that touches the reader on a very personal level. Even if the message doesn't strike you while you read the pages, I promise the words will sneak up on you when you least expect it.

Like the other books by Ruiz, The Four Agreements and the Companion Guide to the Four Agreements, Mastery of Love will show you the path to freedom. Are you strong enough to face the path? Well, you will have to decide for yourself...

Summary: This book will change your life!
Review: I have read both this book and The Four Agreements several times now and each time I learn something new. After reading this book, you feel that you are completely in control of your life, and of the consequences of the choices you make. This book not only teaches you how to improve the relationships of people in your life, but, more importantly, it teaches you how to improve the relationship you have with yourself. It is well written and read very easily in a few days time. Each time I start to read this book, I don't want to put it down.

When I review a book, I usually like to at least say at least one thing that could be improved about the book. However, with this book, I can only say good things. It's well worth the money, and well worth the time to read. I have recommended it to several of my friends, telling them if it doesn't change their life, I will reimburse them for the cost of the book. So far, I haven't had to reimburse a single person!

Summary: Every Relationship in Your Life Can Be Healed
Review: "Every relationship can be wonderful, but it's going to begin with you. You need to have the courage to use the truth, to talk to yourself with the truth, to be completely honest with yourself."

I selected this quote from the chapter entitled "The Dream Master" because it conveys the power of self-love and self-truth, which nothing can ever conquer, unless we allow it to. Don Miguel Ruiz has such a gift in helping us all understand how to honor our own selves, and THEN we will be authentic enough to heal a relationship that has been damaged, or begin a new one stemming from truth.

This book is beautiful and profound. In looking at the state of many heartbroken relationships today, Ruiz's message is both needed and timeless. Buy this book for yourself, and buy a copy for someone you love. You will learn a lot that will bring you genuine peace. Highly Recommended! Summary: Breeze that opens your true self
Review: My favorite chapter was "the magical kitchen". It truly showed me in retrospect that once you TRULY love yourself you will only do what is in the best interst for your heart and soul. I was in a very dark relationship with a cruel man at the beginning of this book, and by the end I was single and also figured out how I would never allow such disrespect if I loved myself. Since this book has come into my life I love being in my own skin. I have re-read this book several times and my dating life as well as my alone time is so much more pleasureable. I have learned to love myself entirely. Don wrote this book in such a way that regardless what your situation is while reading it by the time you are finished you just feel different. You are finally seeing things with open eyes as things truly are. I reccomend this book to anyone who would like to work on themselves because this book is not how to change your man/woman it is what needs to be improved in you.

Summary: Find Love In Your Life
Review: Don Miguel Ruiz is a wonderful writer with a huge heart. Just reading his ideas about love is enough to start feeling it in your own life. What I came to realize in reading his book was that you will only find people who are willing to love you as much as you love yourself. The easy conversational style of this book and the impact of Ruiz's empathy opened my eyes to the love that exists in the world around me, my relationships and my own self in a completely new, compassionate way. It really hit home with me that when you have self-love, your happiness cannot be compromised by external forces. This book fits perfectly with one of my other favorites: "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work" by Ariel and Shya Kane. In the same way that reading Ruiz transmits the ideas of love on a deep level, reading the Kanes' book transmits awareness on a level where you really feel it and where it really impacts your life every day, every moment. These books are the medium by which powerful but abstract concepts are communicated beautifully. Like a modern day Buddha, Ruiz sheds illumination on some of the same truths I read about in "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work", but he does it from a different angle. He gives a refreshing perspective of love, what it means to love unconditionally, and how mastering love creates the exquisite life we all want to live. "The Mastery of Love" and "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work" are both essential if you want to increase the feeling of love in your life.

Summary: Practical wisdom
Review: This book, like the title says, is about the art of relationship. Don Miguel Ruiz's explanation as to how love can be is very inspiring. He also points out that it must start with love for yourself. That love is a fantastic experience, a devine experience, and not something to take for granted, to obtain through guilt, manipulation, etc. This book is relevant to all types of relationships .... friendship, spouse, children, other relatives. A very worth while read.

Summary: BEST BOOK FOR SELF-LOVE
Review: THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ ON SELF LOVE.
The author really makes one think about the lack of self-love we have and how we have been domesticated from such an early age to shelter our true self to be what we think others want for us to be. This book was so profound for me at a time in my life, when I realized that I needed to be myself, and love myself regardless to if others loved and accepted me...this book was a real eye opener...Buy this one a re-read as needed...it is worth every penny.

Summary: LOVE IS NOT A FOUR LETTER WORD
Review: Stuck at the Las Vegas airport on January 11, 2002 I bought this book at the store there. Alone in a crowd of people it was the perfect book. I spent hours reading this book and finished it on the plane home (it was a long layover in Vegas). I was in the midst of finishing my 400 page book CUTTING THE CORD: GUIDE TO GOING WIRELESS and I thought I was losing touch with my heard by living too much in my head so it seemed like the perfect antidote. This is one of the dozen or so books I keep in my bedroom and reread -- verus books that are in my office. Even if you don't believe in love anymore, you'll find out more about yourself by reading this tome. Spiritual? Yes, but practical too -- by appealing to your analytical side, Ruiz somehow touches your soul. A great section on healing the emotional body is a lifelong guide to dealing with hurts and owning your own power. You don't have to read THE FOUR AGREEMENTS (also by this author) to value from this book but you might want to since it is a very wise book also. We don't have to learn about love the author maintains-- everything we know about love is in our GENES -- somehow that is quite comforting because the current literature and pop psychologists always say that we must learn, re-learn or modify ourselves, jump through hoops or twiste ourselves into pretzels to find the love we want.
