Rating: Summary: Highly inspirational Review: This book completely has changed the way I think. An excellent book for those who think they "cannot do it" or those who think it is "too late in life". A highly inspirational book, and gives a ton of real-life examples and rags to riches stories. If nothing, this book will be one of the best reads.
Rating: Summary: Do You Have a Success Plan? Review: As with many books that I am writing reviews for, I first read this book more than 6 years ago, and have reread it many times thereafter. And I am so happy to see, from the notes in my margins where I have learned to read people. This has given me a level of power that before reading this book was not even imaginable. Thanks to reading this book, I have learned to be fully in the present moment, in 99% of my interactions with others. And while fully in this moment, during excitement, I can seem to be too calm, but I am really mastering listening to the point that I am absorbing details, while I separate who my interlocutor is, from who I am, so that I make decisions, during our interactions that represent my highest self. I savor each moment, as I listen to my subconscious voice. Dr. David Schwartz, advises the readers to be a scientist in the lab of human behavior. I am definitely that. From this latest reread, I have created a new habit that has made me feel really great - and my customers feel really great. That habit is to answer the phone with, "Good morning. It's a awesome day. May I sell you some publicity/coaching lessons/seminars (whichever is appropriate)?" Another habit which I acquired during the first read of this book is to write a commercial, to sell myself to myself. My commercial is a one-page sales pitch, that repeats the product/service, which is "Carmen." It describes many things about me. And it reminds me to focus upon being big enough for what I want. This book contains, literally hundreds of suggestions for readers to improve their ability to get the best out of life. Read this book, because you deserve the best of yourself. And as you read this book, practice listening to your subconscious self, while you jot down a few notes in the margins. This will condition you to listen to others, while you count upon yourself.

You'll live big in accomplishment. Big in income. Big in Friends. Big in respect.Magic of Thinking Big by Dr. David Schwartz is full of promises to turn dreams true! When one starts dreaming, thoughts create action and this is when one realize 'Thinking power' is more effective than one's intelligence! All one need to make another big Resolution is to eliminate the word 'Impossible' which is a failure word. "Won't work", "Can't be done", "It's useless", "It's stupid" and such thoughts should never let a person shrug off helpless but instead "I-can-do-better" attitude makes a big difference. The author says, Some people have a belief "You-can't-get-ahead-so-don't-bother-to try' but this is absolutely a lame excuse and if you 'Think Big', there is a sure way that lets you climb a few steps grabbing in the moments of opportunities and experiences that come your way. Each person has a right to be different. 4.Tune into 'Good Thought Station' Think Positive. 5.Practice conversation generosity. Act like successful person and you are! Encourage others to talk. Let others talk to you about his views, opinions, and accomplishments. Just Ask! In process, you get your own answers to your questions too. 6.Practice courtesy. This makes others feel better and you feel better too. 7.Don't blame others when you receive a setback. This will lose your own determination to face challenges.
Rating: Summary: Inspirationally Winded Review: The Magic of Thinking Big definitely brought up some thought provoking issues, which I think all could benefit from both personally and professionally. The principles within the book seem as if they would be easy to incorporate into your life philosophy and if properly administered would be highly successful. At many points while reading the book I found myself saying... "I know someone who does that and it does work!" It was nice to read a book that suggested down-to-earth and realistic principles to improve your life. As for the general layout of the book, I thought it read well for the most part. I think Schwartz got a little long winded with all the examples, and found myself skimming over the last half of many of the chapters. But at the same time, I enjoyed the wrap up at the end of every chapter. Overall, I would recommend the Magic of Thinking Big.
Rating: Summary: Good and Bad Review: The tape and the book are excellent material. This should be required reading in high school. The quality of the tape is poor at best. The tape plays 2 tracks at the same time thru part of the recording on any tape player I play it on.

Rating: Summary: A PROACTIVE SUCCESS classic. Review: David Schwartz's classic success book "The Magic of Thinking Big" is one of the top ten all time best proactive success books. After you have read it you will begin to refer to the earlier part of your life as "before I read the book." Even before you finish reading it the first time, you will be a changed person - it's that incredible. I say first time because you will want to read it again and again. My copy is well read, well read, and well marked. It has been a treasured part of my library and I've recommended it to others countless times. I consider David Schwartz to be one of the earliest "proactive thinkers" in the world. If you haven't read this book before, get ready for profound wisdom. Schwartz makes it easy to understand that our thoughts are things and have God given powers, far beyond what is commonly taught by others. I can tell you from my own astonishing situations and experiences that, "your success really is most definitely determined by what and how you think." Schwartz covers all of the proactive bases: smart thinking, system thinking, futuristic thinking, and positive thinking. If you are truly seeking the kind of success and abundance that makes your life 100% livable - you must read this book. Rating: Summary: I hate to admit it... Review: I hate to admit how great this book is. From it's trite references to "Mr. Negative" and "Mr. Positive" to it's happy, happy, happy all the time philosophy, it's a tough nut for the post-modern mind to crack. It's easy to imagine Annette Benning's charater in "American Beauty" reading this book and immediately beginning to chant, "If I think I can, I can. If I think I can, I can." But, and it takes patience, if you can ignore the simplistic metaphors, the constant references to "a young person I know", and the dialog, which is clearly made up, there is a wealth of information available here. The idea is simple: you must attempt success, it is not an accident. Scwartz understands and explains that success is based on a concientious effort, that failure is often the result of a fear of success, and that almost any situation can be overcome. He also understands the power of observation; learn from those you know who are successful and those you know who are not, and learn from those who are somewhere in the middle. Success requires initiative, a conscious effort, and faith in the ability to succeed. This book imparts this lesson and serves as a guide to the type of behaviour such success requires.
