Rating: Summary: Finally, a no-nonsense guide to dealing with life Review: Dr. McGraw hits the nail on the head. If you want to change your life, you first have to change you. This book is a practical guide to life management. If more ideas of this nature were published, maybe accountability would become fashionable and progress would become commonplace. Great book. Dan R.
Rating: Summary: One of Lifes Ultimate Manuals Review: If your life isn't working, and you want to change it, look no further. This book will tell you the truth like no other book will. Mostly good common sense, but put in such an articulate, no-nonsense way, it's hard to argue with his commentary. This book should be mandatory reading in the public school system. I've studied human behavior and psychology all my life, and have never heard it put this well before. It will shoot right between the eyes, and you'll love every minute.
Rating: Summary: This is a "self help" book that really does. Review: I saw this guy on Oprah and thought he made sense, but didn't like what he said, at first, in the book. I just finished it and Wow! Once you "get it" there's no turning back. You have to act; More than thought provoking. No wonder he impressed Oprah; she has access to the best.
Rating: Summary: This book is good for someone who needs to face reality. Review: It's a book that can help you to understand why you do the things you do. As you read you will come across parts that remind you of others around you. It will make you want to run out and give this book to people that you know. If you've ever watched Dr. Mc Graw on Oprah you will appreciate his humor in the book. I know I laughed quite a few times while reading. It's interesting as well as heartbreaking. He talks about his experiences and people that he has treated. This is one self help book that everyone can benefit from. No matter how normal you think you are.
Rating: Summary: Excellent reading. For people who want to GET IT. Review: I believe this book should be made a mandatory class every year starting in about the eigth grade through High School. In a few years we could have more good news at eleven than bad. We all could live in a worthwhile society.
Rating: Summary: WOW!!! Review: I've been mad for the last two days because there's no arguing with the information in this book. Take your time reading this one, it could overwhelm you. Chapter 3 is very painful to work through, but I'm sure will be worth it!!! The self-help section has needed a book like this for years. GET OVER IT and GET IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: This book is helping me get my life on track, thank you, Dr. Review: I was so excited when I saw Dr.Mc Graw on Oprah and came right on-line to order this book!! I have not been disappointed. Its well written and thought provoking. I have done all of the Doctor'd assignments and have learned much about myself as a person. I recommend this book to anyone who needs direction in their life and wants to delve into their inner self.
Rating: Summary: Not just another self-help book Review: Oh great, I thought to myself as I saw Dr. McGraw's book--another best-selling self-help book. Just what we need. After I read his ten principles and scanned the book, however, I changed my mind. Here's a guy who's telling it like it is, not how we want to hear it. Dr. McGraw doesn't play around--there's no new-agey stuff or academic nonsense here. It's very lucid and unadulterated, and this book has the power to change your life IF YOU USE IT. Some readers think, just by reading such a book, their lives will be instantly transformed. LIFE STRATEGIES makes such promises only if you actively apply the book's principles. Absolutely the best book printed this year, and highly recommended whether your life is a little unorganized or a total mess.
Rating: Summary: Dr. Phil Gives it to Us Straight! Review: Dr. Phil's advice is always on the money. He makes sense of things! Go Dr. Phil! Everyone should be required to read this book before they have a chance to mess up their lives. His solutions and straightforward style are a welcome change from the sappy self-help stuff we've come to know. Thank you, Dr. Phil!
Rating: Summary: Should one really desire to change this is the book.... Review: I have bought and read more books than I would like to admit about changing our behavior but I hit the jackpot with this one..a no nonsense approach with a direct message on how to accomplish this should we have the courage to follow through..it will remain the one book I keep on my nightstand...thanks
