Summary: I loved it!
Review: Sex and The City is a very original, often funny account of the various tribulations of the dating world. This is a must read for all single women (and men) everywhere. Yes, it's farfetched in many instances, but the underlying emotions are easy enough to relate to. Along with Fried Calamari (another very funny, sexy book about dating), I found Sex and The City to be one of the most unique and entertaining books that I've read this year.

Summary: LOVE THE SHOW; HATED THE BOOK
Review: I love sex in the city, the show, but the book just wasn't enough for me; it really lacked something. It didn't give enough details about Big and Carrie or anybody; it was more like a bang bang and your done book.

Summary: witty, titillating, irresistable reading!
Review: When I looked at what ratings people gave for this i was shocked...I mean how can u not like it? The book is not only insightful about relationships it also does not take itself too seriously and lets the reader laugh at the silly antics. \ The beautiful structure of the writing just makes u want to go on page after page. Although a little different from the show, we can certainly see the origins for the characters.... A MUST READ...

Summary: I got nothing out of this book
Review: Maybe people that socialize in a certain circle can appreciate this book more than I can. I didn't even laugh once while reading it. It seems to me that the fabric of a dating scene has to do with who are in it. Can one expect deep relationships to be formed between shallow people? Maybe that's why the author could write up such a book just based on people in her life?

Summary: If you love the show, you'll love the book
Review: The book is just like the show. It is a great book! If you love the show, you will love the book. It's soo funny!

Summary: Carrie and Big.....a great pair.
Review: GREAT BOOK! I love the HBO series and was NOT let-down by the book. It's a great and FUN read. The connection between Carrie and Big is fabulous. You can't wait to see what happens to them next. I would love to read more on these characters...not from just the TV series, but from the author herself.

Summary: The age of Un-innocence indeed!
Review: 'Sex and the City' is fun to read and entertaining. The characters' lives are so outrageous that your life seems dull and predictable in comparison. I love the topics: the toxic bachelors; the guys who date models; threesomes; and the four city girls, including "Carrie", visiting married women in Conneticut and enjoying themselves, to their surprise.

The book is mainly focused on Carrie and her boyfriend, "Mr. Big." I love the HBO series based on this book, but the book tells us a different story of love and dating in New York. The book is as fun and as outrageous as the HBO series. A fun read!

Summary: Can I have my money back?
Review: I watched the series, read part of the book and kicked myself in the a** for buying the book. Stick to the HBO series and find something worth reading because this book is not it.

Summary: The real thing--for real Sex and the City fans
Review: I've been watching the TV series for two years and just finished reading the book. I can't believe I waited so long to buy the book--it's terrific. Sure, it's different from the TV series, but anyone who is at least of normal intelligence will get the fact that the book is the real thing, while the tv series, although funny and witty, is the sugar-coated, hollywood-ized version. The book is much more complex and layered than the show, and, like real life, doesn't necessarily have happy endings (or even endings--are there really endings in life besides death?). The show is formulaic, while the book is not. It doesn't pander to the audience. Of course, this means that there are people who won't like the book or won't get it--probably because the truths it reveals make them uncomfortable about things they see in themselves (and don't want to admit to). It presents dating and relationships in a shockingly realistic way, which, I warn you, will probably frighten those people who insist on believing that life is a Harlequin romance or that Prince Charming is still going to ride up on a white horse. Some people complain that the characters are shallow, but the truth is, the characters are real, and, yes folks, we're all a bit shallow and superficial. If we weren't, we wouldn't be human. And that's the beauty of this book--it makes you laugh out loud at our all too human foibles.

Summary: If you love the show, then you'll love the book
Review: What a wonderful book! I am an avid watcher of the Sex and the City series show on HBO, and the book was just as steller. While Bushnell focuses on the elites of New York, most readers could identify each of the characters in thier own circle of friends. If you are looking for a book, to entertain and amuse, then this is just for you. I only hope there will eventually be a follow up.
