Rating: Summary: Better advice from teenagers Review: Holstein has some prurient entertainment value in this book, but the rest of it sounds smug. Her advice is of the I have a good sex life and if you do what I do variety, you will too. In summary, if you just accept your partner, no matter what they've done to themselves or their bodies, you will enjoy your sex life. Come on. Humans are conditioned to find health, fitness, and physical attractiveness as turn-ons, so it seems partners have some responsibility to keep themselves appealing. Finally, the idea that people need to change partners, isn't examined, because in Holstein's world everything can be fixed. Sometimes that is true, but sometimes that is pure nonsense.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: How wonderful that there is finally a book that goes beyond the "paint by numbers" routing and focuses on GETTING TO KNOW your partner and their needs. What I love is that it skips over the idea that a strong, working, and lasting relationship is anything like the movies. My husband and I have been married for 15 years and I know that staying together has every bit to do with committing and prioritizing and very little to do with the wind sweeping through my hair. This book really speaks to the commitment side of the relationship and can even help to build a stronger marriage, OUTSIDE of the bedroom. But I liked the bedroom part. I liked it very much ļ. I am so relieved to have found this book!

Rating: Summary: My boyfriend better take this one seriously Review: I need my sexual self re-awakened. My boyfriend thinks this means nudging me in the back in the middle of the night when when comes home from drinking with the boys. I've given him an ultimatum: learn how to unleash the sexual goddess in me or I'll find somebody who will. AND I'LL TAKE THAT TO DR PHIL! I don't think sex should be the centre of our lives (where Marcus certainly does think so) but I'd agree to it if it meant we actually related on a deeper and more satisfying level. Doesn't it say a lot that this book is a number one best-seller and that no one apart from me and my stupid boyfriends have written reviews? I'm surprised it wasn't sold in a brown paper bag. Stand up America -- and be proud.

Rating: Summary: A spiritual journey to help couples reconnect Review: In today's busy world, when too many of us go from romantic newlyweds to stressed out, double-income, child-chauffering "strangers", who couldn't use a little tune up? This is a serious and thoughtful book to help couples connect or reconnect on a higher level. Some of us are the lucky ones -- once passionate couple who've simply and slowly drifted apart because of the demands of everyday life. Other couples have never had that higher level of connection, and need to achieve it for the very first time. This book helps all couples from all places along that spectrum. The authors are well-credentialed in the subject area and hold popular workshops for couples at the prestigious Mirival Resort (http://www.miravalresort.com/) in Tucson, Arizona. I found an audio CD of exercises from the book at Dr. Holstein's own website at http://www.lanaholsteinmd.com -- i can't wait for it to arrive!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: Most sex books on the market appear to deal mostly with technique and feel a little risque. I really liked this book because it moves through the basics into other levels of really connecting with your partner. They really value a healthy relationship on all levels and tell you what to do to get there! I loved it. My partner loved it. I recommend it.
