Rating: Summary: The Wizard of Oz and Other Narcissists Review: We've all come up against and dealt with a narcissist in one way or another, whether at home, at work, or at play. As Payson explains in The Wizard of Oz and Other Narcissists, often, this personality is not fully discovered until emotional ties to the narcissist have developed.Payson informs readers of the characteristics indicative that a coworker, friend, or loved one is beyond simply neurotic and may have a full blown personality disorder. She shares how to protect oneself from the emotional damage caused by the narcissist in close relationships and even how to handle day-to-day interactions with narcissists that we briefly come up against. She offers practical solutions for placing boundaries between the narcissist and co-dependent. This is a thoroughly engaging introduction and look into the narcissistic personality and is a real eye-opener. It's a must-read for anyone who deals with, and especially lives with, the narcissist, who, while often giving off an illusion of total self-confidence, attempts to control, places unrealistic demands on, and endlessly criticizes, others.
