Summary: Something for everyone
Review: I feel that Ann Hooper's book was very tastefully put together. I was looking for a book of positions that didn't have illustrated cartoon images, but yet wasn't untastful pornography. The models in Ann Hooper's book were nude, but I felt it was done in a sensitive, tasteful manner. The captions next to the pictures explain each position and give hints on how to make them work. I feel the book also has something for everyone. I was a little shy about the book at first because I had never looked at something like it before, so we started out with simpler positions. But as I got braver and more riskey, we tried some more difficult positions. Some which went well, others which we are still working on. The book has lots of ideas. I also liked how there were not only many sections of positions, but also sections on oral sex, touching, and other foreplay issues. It has a lot of content and will provide new adventures for years to come. My boyfriend and I are very pleased.

Summary: A classic lovemaking guide
Review: I found this book to be a great encyclopedia of lovemaking ideas and ways to improve my sex life, but some of the positions are out of my reach. Another little gem I got at the same time, Five Minutes to Orgasm, has a completely different approach to lovemaking problems. Especially for me because my husband and I don't have the time for a long,drawn-out lovemaking sessions most days. Some of the techniques in this book I'll save for special occasions like anniversaries and Valentine's day. Five Minutes to Orgasm I can use any day, and still enjoy the lovemaking experience.

Summary: excellent
Review: I liked this book. It is NOT a porno, nor is it supposed to be. It is a manual that shows not only different positions for sexual entercourse, but also kissing, hugging, touching, etc. It is very decent, and shows no genetalia of the two models, of which i am glad.

Summary: NOT WHAT I WANTED........
Review: I really thought I was going to get some NEW JUICY ideas from this book to really impress the boyfriend BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE, most of the things in this book we have already done and were only in our 20's!!!!!! If you have ABSOLUTELY NO IMAGINATION and have ONLY been into MISSIONARY STYLE POSITIONS then this book is DEFINITELY for you and it will probably teach you a thing or two to spice things up but if your like me and are into experimentation chances are you have already done pretty much all of the things in this book. I have to say I was very disappointed in this book. Try a different karma sutra book if you want more exciting... positions.

Summary: I'm Lovin' It!
Review: I recently began seeing someone special following 3 to 4 years of celibacy after ending a 20-year marriage. I found myself more than a little intimidated at the idea of sex with someone new after so many years with the same man (not to mention so long with NO sex at all!). Sex with my husband had lost what little appeal it had years before the divorce (for many reasons more complicated than mere boredom or familiarity). Since going out with this new man, I have been feeling like a love-struck teenager. I'm absolutely in awe of my capacity for passion! Being naturally shy, I have always found it next to impossible to do what all the experts recommend: talk to your lover about what you like in bed. This is SO important! Maybe I was traumatized when I was younger by my alcoholic mother's torrid and public affairs, but I virtually swore off sex for life when I was in my teens, and I just never really liked sex.

Buying this book and another one called "The Ultimate Guide To Fellatio" by Violet Blue was part of a loose plan I had to open myself up (all puns intended ;-}. After we'd had sex a couple of times, I could see that my dispassionate demeanor was not doing either of us any favors; my desire was so intense, and it was like I wouldn't let him satisfy me, and he tried so hard! So I got up my nerve, and began teasing him over the phone about what I wanted to do to him. This went on for several days(which led to my first phone sex experience!). Needless to say, the anticipation was delicious! The next time I got my hands on him, we had an unforgettable night! The incredible pleasure I gave my lover turned me on like never before. Just before we began, I brought out the books, and we talked about some of the positions in the Kama Sutra - I pointed out a couple I really like (him on top holding my straight legs back as if to put them behind my head). This sharing seemed to move him in both a physical and emotional sense. This book is very tasteful - no sleaziness here. Shows photos of real people doing things people really can co - not impossible cartoons of an idealized Krishna and the Milkmaids practicing contortionism. Positions or suggestions from the original that don't seem possible or safe are discussed anyhow and put into context. These books gave me the confidence to talk about sex without feeling [otherwise]. That may sound pathetic to some, but I did not choose to feel that way. I have now chosen to stop feeling that way, and I'm incredibly grateful to Anne Hoooper and other writers whose books make me feel like it's OK to feel what I'm feeling. And I'm lovin' it!!!

Summary: More than positions
Review: I think this book misses out on the major element of terrific sex -- passion and romance. I'd recommend you read The RoMANtic's Guide in conjuction with this book and you will practically live in the bedroom.

Summary: Other works provide better info in a way that honors both
Review: I was disappointed in the content and presentation of this book. The nude models do not add any value to the information provided. The author seems to want to bend the line of pornography under the guise of an instructional manual. The content was contradictory in places, particularly relating to the use of alcohol. The book does a disservice to women by not honoring their role in the marriage relationship. The book, Intended For Pleasure, by Dr. Ed Wheat and Gaye Wheat was much more valuable, as it covered the full spectrum of sexual experience and its part of the marriage relationship. A weekend at a Family Life Conference would do more for a couple's love life than reading this book. I found nothing new under the sun here. What I did find here was better expressed in other works. I returned my copy for a refund.
