Summary: Send 'em straight to the gas chamber!
Review: Great, great book! Every pin-head cop in America will now believe that he can tell who's lying and then trick a confession out of them too! How grand! Like the Loss Prevention Specialist above, every minimum wage security guard in the country can now have probable cause to search anyone who might suffer from anxiety or any number of other medical ailments or cultural tendencies! This book may change your life alright...It may help put you into prison!

Summary: I will give you the TRUTH about this book in 5 mins or less!
Review: Its easy seeing that there is a 'Lie' in the authors name.... this book was so unbelievable poor that I feel the need to caution people before they waste their money on it. I bought it out of curiousity, and now regret exchanging any money at all for this. I am not lying when I say this - STAY CLEAR OF THIS 'BOOK'

Summary: This book lives up to its title!
Review: Fair warning -- the ideas in this book work, and while it can be useful to know when you are being lied to, it can also make certain situation (especially those involving loved ones) rather complicated. If you deal with people in situation where you are likely to be lied to (and who does not?), this book is a must read -- worth several times its cost in seminars.

Summary: Great book
Review: This book will teach you how to detect when many people are lying. Conversely, it will teach you how to become a better lier. This information will also help you improve your negotiation and "people" skills. (Note: Of course this book does not provide a fool-proof system for detecting lies. Such a system is impossible. Get this book, it is really helpful. I can tell you as a lawyer and a businessman).

Summary: A Winner !
Review: This book is mindblowing. The techniques are very, very easy to use and they work better than I ever thought. You can see right thru people all the time.

It really is shocking how easy it is to tell if anyone is lying to you.

Anyone that is involved in any kind of relationship will find this book to be indispensable. And a life-saver.

It's a winner.

Summary: It only works for the "Guilty Liar"
Review: The book is allright. It helps if the person who's lying to you feels guilty about it. Or perhaps if they are telling a white lie, and you want to get the truth. But, if the guy doesn't care that he's lying, this book won't help. It's all based on anxiety leaking through body language. Therefore, it also will identify a shy or self conscious person as a liar. Another problem: if the person is lying to himself AND you, it doesn't help either. Because the person REALLY BELIEVES what he is saying is true, even if it's not. This book identified an old girlfriend of mine as being sincere, even though she was lying, because she had fooled herself into believing what she was saying. Not altogether too useful for sorting through mixed / contradictory messages.

Summary: An amazing book
Review: This is the best book I have ever read. I was always suspicious of some friends and never knew how to tell if they were lying or not. I would read 30 or 40 pages at a sitting and never get tired of it. I read the book in 5 days with about an hour of reading a day. It's easy to understand, goes step by step, and memorable stories of how the techniques are used. I recommend this to anyone who wants to be sure their friends, co-workers, or employees are honest to them, especially the hiring agent!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent
Review: These techniques are terrific. I've seen much of the research in the area of lie-detection, and Dr. Lieberman has come up with some of the best tactics in terms of practicality.

There's not a lot of theories and no useless data. Everything that you read, you can use in real life situations. It's great.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Superficial
Review: This book could have been better. It promises what every serious scholar dismissed long ago: an easy step by step guide to find out who's lying and who's telling the truth. The author does not seem very aware of the plethora of serious work in this area by people like Ekman. Not altogher useless, but seriously lacking.
