Rating: Summary: Anything? Review: Now, don't get me wrong - Dr. Lieberman makes some good points. But calling them secrets? Many of these are common sense. I read this book hoping for help in the dating/seduction game. And I've gotta say, it's not nearly as good as How to Succeed with Women, or How to Have Sex with Hot Girls without even dating them.
Rating: Summary: good book Review: This is a helpful book, but of course it won't make you get anyone to do anything. Only 4 stars because of the too commercial title. From an European reader
Rating: Summary: The Emperor has no Clothes? Review: Well... not completely naked, but Lieberman is certainly running around in his underwear! Dr. Lieberman spouts proven NLP techniques whithout any examples, excercises or cautionary words that change does take time and effort! Therefore it highly unlikely that any reader of this book can make a change in their outlook, habits or anything else IN THE LONG RUN! If one truly wants to Get Anyone to to Anything (even yourself) there is far superior material out there: from the simplest, yet very detailed Mindworks, by Anne Linden which truly shows you how to get the power to choose between kneejerk reactions and what you'd like to do, to the many NLP books written or edited by John O'Connor and finally to the "sources" themselves, The Structure of Magic, by Richard Bandler and John Grinderthe founders of NLP. Eloquence, change in habits, change in outlookthe achievement of excellence take more than 15 minutes in involve "work" on our part and we, as the "instant gratification" nation, don't like to hear this. ( Do you honestly think that Tiger Woods just "wills" the ball into the cup? He does, but also practices 5 hours a day! )Dr. Lieberman panders to that mindset and that is why his book, not the others mentioned, is the bestseller. Our loss, his gain. Very sad! Shame on me that I fell for the title and bought this book.
Rating: Summary: Psychological Secrets Review: This is a great book. Infact, I use the knowledge from this book in life almost every day. I highly reccomend this book and "How to Read a Person Like a Book"
Rating: Summary: A must read Review: I recomend this book to everyone! I don't know how to convey just how much the knowledge in this book impacted my life. From gaining a true love of learning more about the human physche, to relating with everyone around me. What I never expected was just how much confidence this book gave me!
Rating: Summary: First-rate information, third-rate author Review: I must admit that I was put off by the book's cheesy prose, which I found reminiscent of many a late-night infommercial (just read the introductory paragraph, you'll see). My assumption is that the author intended this book for mass consumption, yet I found it too mediocre to my taste. Most people are smarter than they are given credit for. Nonetheless, much of the information in this book is worthwhile for its insight into human nature. One is apt to find many interesting anecdotes and the results of numerous experiments, and the layout of the information is intended for usefulness and practicality. However, many topics were not covered with the depth and clarity which I sought -further examination of body language and other subconscious communication would have been very useful. Unfortunately, such topics were covered only lightly. I recommend this book to those who seek an introduction on human behavior. For those who truly wish to maximize their success, I recommend THE 48 LAWS OF POWER and THE ART OF SEDUCTION by Robert Greene.
Rating: Summary: This is a must for all readers regardless of who you are. Review: This book offers advice to such questions as: how to be accepted and not seem to be trying, making that first impression as good as gold, finding out if someone is fooling you, how to take control of every situation, how to score points in a job interview or big date, and what it takes to be a leader. And the steps are very forward and flow very well so theres no confusion with any psychological terms. The book is seperated into individual chapters so every question is short and easy to understand.
Rating: Summary: And you thought that there is no such thing as magic! Review: I am a very good people's person and have natural intuition in personal and social relationships. But reading this book was like reading a Bible with constant revelations and confirmations of something that you knew and felt but couldn't put in words. Unbelievable read. I instinctively followed many of the rules prior to reading and believe me it always worked. Now, however, I can analyze my actions with some guidelines that simplify life and make one so confident in whatever one does. You can really get anyone to do anything, just keep on glancing through various chapters every day!
Rating: Summary: Not great, but fun. Review: Certainly, the book doesn't do what the author claims. But you figured that out already I'm sure. On the other hand, it's got some fun (manipulative, but fun nonetheless) psychological tricks in it. It also puts your mind in the right place about how _others'_ minds work. It's crazy how self-centered our thoughts can be, and a little insight like this can help you get what you want out of a lot of situations involving people. Try it out: It's dirt cheap and it's an entertaining read.
Rating: Summary: a must in live! Review: This is the kind of book that everyone should read, to help himself and the others! This book will make this difficult world less difficult; it will open your eyes and make you happy, you will be surprised that the solution to your problems is not always that complicated.... Read the book and enjoys it, it is the first step into your new life, it is great!
