Summary: Very helpful
Review: I really enjoyed using this book. I kept great notes and stories about my pregnancy and I really enjoyed the information the book gave me. It was exciting to read what was happening inside and the little tips were very useful. This journal/book was not overwhelming unlike some of the others I have received. Sometimes I wasn't in the mood to jam so much information into my head at one time. This book allows you to read a little info on a daily basis. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to keep notes about themselves during their pregnancy and wants to learn a little something everyday.

Summary: Very informative, cute book
Review: This book is really neat. It tells you what is happening inside your body with the baby every day, not just within that month. I love to see the days that the baby is forming eyelids, etc. Something you can read with your husband on a daily basis. One that he will want to read with you. That is what is so great about it. He is involved and he likes it! There are spaces to write down your mesasurements, and compare those from month to month. There is also some space to write down notes. However, there isn't alot of room to write. I am using another journal along with it to just write down more feelings and more of what is going on. I hope these 2 books together will be something my child will want to read when they are older. It will be something helpful to them when they are older and have children. I liked the art work, I like the counting down of days, I just love it!

Summary: Good, but with drawbacks
Review: I've been using this book for about 8 weeks now. I agree with some reviewers in that the book isn't really a "journal" in the sense that you are actually recording things. It is lacking in that area. However, if you're like me, and not much of a journaler to begin with, this book is perfect! Both my husband & I enjoyed the daily update of what's going on with the "tadpole." But, pictures or drawings would be nice as well - it's hard to visualize some of the things going on. I do disagree with the reviewer who states that there's too many comments about gaining weight. I've not had that same experience. Bottom line is this: if you're expecting a "true" journal with the ability to record your daily thoughts, forget it. But, if you're looking for a day-to-day account of what's going on with baby, this one is pretty tough to beat.

Summary: Somewhat entertaining, but there are better books out there
Review: This book was highly reccomended in an online discussion forum I read, but I can't say I would recommend it. First, they hardly give you any room for your own journaling - better to spend a few dollars on a nice pen and a composition book. Second, they use a different system for counting pregnancy weeks than most women are probably used to, so by this book you are always two weeks behind what your doctor and you normally say you are - and what woman wants to hink of herself as less pregnant than she is? Third, there are a LOT of mistakes in this book. If you read it carefully, the information contradicts not only what other books have to say, but sometimes even contradicts what the book itself said a few pages back!

Overall, I'd say this is a mildly entertaining book, but for the money, there are better and more accurate books out there. Consider this book only after you've bought some better ones, if you still find your need to read up on your baby unquenched.

Summary: A Great Gift!
Review: I gave this journal to my pregnant sister, and she loved it! But make sure you give this journal as soon as the recipient finds out she is expecting. She will want to record in it daily and if you wait until the baby shower, she will have missed all those important first stages of pregnancy.

Summary: LOVE IT!
Review: THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST PREGNANCY BOOKS I'VE READ! I LOVE IT BECAUSE IT TELLS YOU HOW THE BABY IS PROGRESSING EACH DAY - WHERE MOST BOOKS TEEL YOU HOW BABY IS PROGRESSING EACH MONTH. MY HUSBAND AND I USED TO READ IT EVERY NIGHT TO SEE HOW OUR SON WAS DEVELOPING. I HAVE RECOMMENDED THIS BOOK TO ALL OF MY PREGNANT FRIENDS. I THINK YOU'LL REALLY ENJOY IT!

Summary: nonsensical ...
Review: Someone gave me this book, and I found it absolutely maddening. It uses two different systems for counting down to the due date - one based on 280 days from the end of the last period, and one based on 266 days from the date of conception. The author always fails to distinguish which system she is using, and the numbers in the journal relate to one system, whilst the numbers on the wheel (provided to "help" you follow your pregnancy) are based on the other. The authors logic is so crooked that it is almost impossible to match up the dates between the journal and the wheel. I would rate this book as not just bad, but potentially dangerous - it could confuse a woman into getting her due dates mixed up and thinking she was overdue when she wasn't. Don't buy - and if given this book, be careful!

Summary: not impressed
Review: I'm almost half way through my pregnancy, and I received this as a gift and look at it frequently. It's fun to have something to look at every day. It leaves me wishing for something better, though.

I wish there were pictures, or at the very least drawings, of the growing babe. The constant warnings about gaining too much weight are lame! It's more dangerous to gain too little than to much, but I feel like every other day, there it is again - don't gain too much! (I haven't even gained any yet, so I'm not being defensive about this.)

I agree with others who've said it isn't really a journal. There's almost no room to write anything.

I wish it went by the more standard 40 weeks (starting with lpm), rather than 38 weeks starting with conception. It's confusing. I'm not crazy about the way it counts down to the estimate due date, either.

Summary: Best Journal I've found
Review: This journal is absolutely wonderful. It documents the development of your baby from the first day of conception and gives you a day-to-day guide on exactly what is developing and what is happening to you and your baby. There are spaces for you to write in each day's date to "personalize" it. It is particularly great for those of us who are carefully planning a pregnancy and know when conception likely occurred. I suggest writing the dates in pencil at first until you know for sure you are pregnant! There are also pretty blank pages at the beginning of each month with a space that would be good for a photo of your growing belly. I disagree about there not being enough space to write...there are "note" places on each page or two, and plenty of empty space to write in snipits. True, this is not a guided journal like Butterflies and Hiccups (which I also have), but I find that this one is much more fascinating and interactive as you learn what is going on with your baby each day. Be sure to buy it from Amazon...these are much more expensive at retail stores

Summary: Informative, but not really a journal
Review: This book is very informative, although most of the information, you can find on various baby websites. I like it for information, but there is really no room to journal anything--once a week you get a line to write down your mood, cravings, etc.
