Summary: Ditto on everything!
Review: I agree with 5-star reviews of the other writers. It was an awesome gift to have during my first pregnancy and now that I am pregnant again I am about to buy another one for myself. I was briefly contemplating trying a different journal, but after comparing the descriptions and reviews I feel like this will be an excellent tool to use again. Good luck to all the moms-to-be out there!

Summary: GREAT Book
Review: You WILL want this book if you are pregnant. I love mine so much, there is SO much information. It's not just writing in a journal... My husband even wants to read it and keep up with it!! So, it's good all around.

Summary: Great for Dads too...
Review: This is a great book for mums and dads to be. Our only regret is that we did not have it from the beginning. It is easy and enjoyable to read and has interesting facts about childberth in other countries and the past - some are really funny. If you are thinking of having a baby and can only have one book, get this one!

Summary: Wonderful for expecting moms!!!
Review: I used this with my first pregnancy and LOVED it. It was a great place to keep all my notes.. thoughts, physical symptoms, doctor appointment information, and even possible names. And I loved reading every day what was happening with the baby and me. With my second pregnancy I didn't do a journal and I wish I had. But I love looking back at the first one and comparing. I just bought this book for my sister who is expecting, and I think she will love it as much as I do. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!

Summary: Not quite right
Review: I bought this journal at a bookstore and ended up returning it. The reason I returned it was because the journal dating is based on the date of conception NOT on the first day of your last period. What this means is that when you look in your journal and are reading and writing for week 7, you will actually be(according to the dating your doctor will be using)in your 9th week. I didn't like the confusion and would rather be in sync with the dating system that my doctor is using. It's too bad, because other than this one thing that was not quite right, I thought the journal was great.

Summary: Not what I was looking for...
Review: While it has some good information on fetal development, day by day, this journal is very rigid in it's format-- judging from the layout, I felt as though I'm supposed to write something every day. Also, you have to go to the due date, and number the days backwards with a calendar. I'm sorry, but I think I need something a little more free-form than that. Otherwise, I'm afraid the first 30 days are going to look something like, "got sick again... tried like hell to choke down a piece of toast this morning." I want something to write down my feelings about what's going on with me, and that probably won't be a day-to-day thing. As far as the information contained in this journal, it's good info, but you can get it in a more exciting format in one of the million other pregnancy books. One more thing - the font used in the journal is small & hard to read.... unless pregnancy has changed my eyesight, which is a whole other subject.

Summary: Wonderful for my eighth child
Review: I was excited about having another baby but bored by the contents in almost every other baby book--once you've changed a few thousand diapers you know most of what they say. This book, however, taught me new stuff every day about the baby's development, which was helpful since I was on bedrest for months and followed her progress very closely. I loved the quotes on parenting, and though I found the anthropological comments a bit similar after a while (hint: a lot of cultures have placenta rituals), it gave me just the right amount of room to write my thoughts. There is one pocket for mementos, but I just pasted or taped more into the pages. I wish she made a baby book too.

Summary: My favorite pregancy book!
Review: This is book allows you to experience the incredible miracle of pregnancy by giving you day-to-day updates on the baby's development. Also extremely useful are the tips for the mothers. I've found that some of the symptoms described happened to me on the exact week that I read about them. This is a feel-good book, free of the worries about what could go wrong in your pregancy. It is suitable for any mother-to-be and a wonderful gift!

Summary: The Pregnancy Journal
Review: This is our 5th child and due to the simple fact that our children are so spread apart in ages (3y/o to 16 y/o), I'd given away lots of "baby items." The one book I've kept for sixteen years is While Waiting. Then I discovered two important tools to use during this pregnancy: Yahoo Pregnancy Calendar (available free online at Yahoo.com) and The Pregnancy Journal!

Boy! I'm in my last trimester and it is refreshing to review all that has already occurred. I just wish I had this book from the VERY START. If you are newly pregnant and wondering what reading material to start with: USE THIS BOOK!

Summary: A must have!
Review: I received this journal as a gift when I was pregnant, and now it's one of the gifts I give all my pregnant friends! Not only were my husband and I able to follow along with the development of our son, but we were able to email the journal entries to our parents so they could "follow along" as well. Every pregnant couple should have this book!
