Rating: Summary: Tony The Tiger would say G r e a t Review: Wonderful - I have showed the book to 4 or 5 of my friends. I like the tape on "How to cook" Does anyone know if she has more VCR tapes out besides this one? She shows how to cook her meals - Wish she had another one.... I cook alot more once I watch the tape. Simple receipes. And delicious.
Rating: Summary: Recipes Not Realistic Review: I thought the book was well written and it probably works for some people, but the recipes were not realistically possible for someone like myself. I work and go to school, so I don't have time to cook any of those meals. My meals are on the go, so I need something that I can make put in a bag and not require heating it up. Have any suggestions?
Rating: Summary: Terrible Sugar Withdrawal Review: I was really excited when I saw this book, because I thought finally I could lose weight without using diet pills to curb my hunger. I have read this book at least 5 times since I ordered it last week, and finally started on the program last Saturday. I think it's a great book, it makes a lot of sense, but the only problem is, I am having terrible sugar withdrawals. Could someone please advise what to do? I really want to lose weight and I think everything sounds terrific, but without sugar I really feel terrible and I am having terrible headaches that I have to take my migraine medicine twice as often. I am eating lots of fruits and fruit smoothies with Equal, but it doesn't seem to help. Has anyone gone through the same thing? Would appreciate any comments. Thank you!
Rating: Summary: A reasonable way to lose weight Review: Over the years I've looked at lots of diet plans. Atkins, the Zone, McDougalls, and so on. This plan is one of the more reasonable to deal with, although it's not perfect. It requires planning and thinking ahead, which can be hard when you've got a cranky family to feed, but if you give it some time it works. Just don't cheat!
Rating: Summary: This eating plan leaves you satisfied and not starving! Review: I have been using this plan for 2 weeks now and have lost weight, gained energy and have had no digestive upset. I highly recommend this system to people who want a lifestyle plan not a diet. When you eat this way, you leave the table feeling full and satisfied -- never starving and hungry. I believe that this is why people have such such success with it as they are satiated from the food. The only negative thing about the book is that Suzanne is quite affected with her stories and pictures of her family life -- I am more interested in her food plan than in the tidbits about her life, to be perfectly honest!
Rating: Summary: A new way of life Review: I started Suzannes eating program as a "diet", it now has become and will remain a way of life for me. I have lost 35 lbs since Dec. 1, 1999 and gone from a size 16 to a size 10. But, the best part of this program is the way I feel. It took about a week to get on track and understand exactly what I was doing, but as my energy level grew each day, I knew I was on to something. Yes, I've had to "give up" some things, but I have found that there are other things out there to replace what I have given up. Also, those things I had to give up were the things that got me overweight in the first place. This is the easiest program for me to follow for weight loss that I've ever tried. There's no portion control; if I'm hungry I can eat, and boy do I eat. I'm actually eating breakfast, something that hasn't been done for years. Suzanne, thank you for making your plan available to all of us. The whole thing just makes sense.
Rating: Summary: Very Successful Diet! Review: My husband and I started this diet Jan 24th. It is now Mar. 20th and I have lost 24 pounds and my husband has lost 23 pounds! This has been an easy diet to follow - especially cooking. We have been eating many fresh vegetables. I have also found some excellent whole wheat, basil and tomato pastas to use for our carb meals. We have had a dessert or two along the way - but it hasn't hindered our weightloss. We both hit a plateau for about 1 1/2 weeks where we didn't lose any weight - but then - all of a sudden - the pounds started dropping again. Both of us have more energy and are less tired. We also eat out at least twice a week and have found selections readily available from the menu at the restaurants we visit. We agree that a "treat" at least once a week helps us to continue on - such as a special decaffinated coffee with whipped cream at the local coffee shop. We highly recommend this diet - it has worked great for us. My husband is 4 pounds from goal and I have many more pounds to loose - but I think I am going to make it happen on this diet!
Rating: Summary: It's slow Review: I have been on the diet for two months and lost four pouns. I am 53 and on estrogen..so I know it's a sloow battle. I would appreciate any tips, hints or encouragement from anyone out there!
Rating: Summary: Buy it! Review: Buy this book, now! First, it's inspirational. It makes you want to be healthy and fit. Second, it's easy to read and understand. Third, it's got great recipes...over half the book is recipes. This is how I want to eat for the rest of my life. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I respect the food I am eating. Can you relate to not respecting the food you put in your mouth? I take pride in the tasty, satisfying, healthy meals I prepare and NO MORE GUILT. Yeah!
Rating: Summary: Best diet ever Review: I have never had a weight problem until I turned 40. I tried going on low fat diets and was starving but lost no weight. My mother was on Suzanne's diet and suggested I read the book. I loved it. It was the easiest diet I had ever done. My husband and I eat out frequently and I never have a problem with picking something off the menu. I just substitute the potato for a salad. To date I have lost 20 pounds. I now weigh 110 lbs. This is what I weighed when I got married. Thanks a lot Suzanne!
