Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Yes food combining works but the "Fit for Life" way's easier Review: I know from my experience with Fit For Life that food combining really does help one improve digestion and lose weight. I feel that what Ms Somers is teaching is really not all that new, after all F.F.L. is now over 10 years old! Actually I think her way is more complicated what with totally eliminating all fats with carbo based meals. That really is unrealistic, at least for me. Who really wants to eat pasta or toast with no butter or oil at all? Also, I was HORRIFIED to see her including artificial sweeteners with her dessert recipes. These products simply have no place in a healthy diet. Still, reading the book is enjoyable as Ms. Somers truly seems to want to help people lose weight and enjoy their food. She obviously is a great cook and I'd love to have her as a friend. The photos are beautiful but a bit self- indulgent (bathtub full of rose petals?)!!! Bottom line: steal some recipes from Eat Great Lose Weight but use Fit for Life as your guideline.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I rate at 5 due to better health, thank you Suzanne. Review: I first heard of this book from my Mother in-law, and she had wonderful reveiws and I highly respect her opinions and thoughts. While I was visiting I read through the first few chapters and thought, WOW this is geared towards digestive problems and I am a person with severe trouble. I have Hiatal Hernia and Reflux Disease so needless to say I was pretty uncomfortable after every meal I ate. No sooner than I would put my plate in the sink then the problems started. Since I started the Somersize program I have felt a huge releif in my digestion tract and I don't experience the swelling in the throat from the indigestion. I have only been using the recipes for a week and already saw a huge difference, for the better. This beats a very bland non tasteful diet and medications 3 to 4 times a day. Hey I am only 33 I still have years of flavor ahead of me and I am not about to retire to bland at this time of my life. I would like to say that I have not had to take my prilosec or zantac or maloxx since I have been Somersizing. I should also add that I have also lost weight and gained energy. Try the Greek Kabobs they are great. My next challenge is the sugarless cheesecake, Yum. I wish I could thank Suzanne Somers personally but you know how that goes. I just hope she actually reads these reveiws, and knows what a difference she is making in the lives of others.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Dont be skeptical!! Review: Stop being a skeptic! This program really works. I've been on it for a month and have lost 11 pounds. I admit I've cheated now and again on the weekend, but I still lost weight. I've given up counting calories and fat grams forever. Just lose the sugar and white flour. It's not that hard. I said it was time to do something and I did. Thank you Suzanne!!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: non starving diet Review: This has been the best weight control program that I have ever been on. It has been four weeks and I have lost 13 pounds and I am not starving. I am eating as much as I want of the appropriate foods until I am satisfied. I have got my sister and mother on the program and they have also lost weight. I have about ten more pounds to go and even if it takes three or four more weeks it is worth the weight because I finally feel like I can be on this forever. P.S. I have had cheated here and there at picnics but have not gone overboard and did not gain any weight.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Thank you, Suzanne! Review: I've been somersizing for 4 weeks. I've lost 10 pounds, but more importantly, I've lost inches and can fit into my clothing comfortably again! At first, cutting out sugar and caffeine left me lethargic, but three days later, I started to feel like a million bucks! Some readers have stated they have not being able to find food with out sugar and white flour-check out the Organics brand of spaghetti and sauces and organic food stores. And, of course, tons of the food we normal buy is made with sugar in the US, that's why we have so many overweight people!! I don't cook much and found it pretty easy to stick to--lots of salads (with real bleu cheese dressing!), veggies, lots of grilled meats, roasts, whole grain cereals, etc. No buns with my hamburger?? Sure, I can live with that since I'm feeling great, losing weight and looking better, too. Thanks, Suzanne! This change of lifestyle makes sense and works if you're willing to focus on the things you CAN eat instead of what you can't!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The key to the rest of my life!! Skeptical turned around. Review: I am a 31 year old woman from Atlanta, Georga who has tried everything under the sun to lose weght. I have been heavy all my life, the victim of bad genetics and have never experienced life as a thin person. I was urged by my mother to get this book and was very skeptical because I had tried something like it under a doctor's care before. She begged me to get it, claiming that the results have been astounding. I got it, read it, and never turned back. I have not gained anything since I started and have lost 46 pounds in about 5 weeks. I know that sounds impossible but it's true. I was losing every day! I have told so many people about this book and feel good that I could be the one to do that. Also, one of the people I told, unbeknownst to me, was bulemic. She no longer is. She is somersizing and no longer feels the need to purge. I was thrilled to hear something so touching. She thanked me for telling her about this book, but all the thanks goes to Suzanne Somers. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Somersizing is not for everyone Review: While somersizing may work for some, it is not realistic for many others. The plan calls for you to completely eliminate all sugar and white flour from your diet on level one. Do you know how hard it is to buy food in the supermarket that does not have any of these two ingredients? There are also a host of other foods you must eliminate completely (at least on level one). As a result, you must cook all of your meals without using any prepared foods. This would be very difficult for those who work long hours or for those who are students. Much of the food on the plan consists of meat, vegetables, fruit and oil. Anyway who wants to eat a hamburger without the bun? And there are certain foods you must give up altogether- such as potatoes. While I tried to do this, I found the program inconvenient. The complete elimination of sugar left me weak and lethargic. And I simply did not have the time to cook every single meal from scratch. This may be a good program for those who like to cook, have alot of free time on their hands, and do not mind eliminating all those foods from their diets, but for the rest of us, it is simply unrealistic.

For example, on level one you must eliminate all sugar and white flour. Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: It works Review: You don't have to say anything more! It works. My family and friends are thanking me for introducing them to Suzanne's program. I have bought at least 10 books to share with others and have gotten another 10 to get their own -- do I get a kickback? I am married to a chef in a french restaurant and he is convinced it is the diet for true foodies! Between us we have lost 75 pounds! Thanks Suzanne.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: "Somersizing" really works for me! Review: Suzanne Somers explains in very easy terms how to "Somersize" and lose weight. Her program really works for me. I lost my first 13 pounds quite easily and quickly. Now the weight loss has slowed down, but I will never quit Somersizing. It's just too easy and it really works. I found the chocolate she mentions that is 70% cocoa in a chocolate store called Lindz. It's delicious. I'm so happy with my weight and appearance for the first time in a long time.
