Summary: IT'S SOOOOOOOOOO EASY!!!
Review: WOW!! This book has changed my life! My energy level has skyrocketed; I have lost close to 40 lbs....and it was so easy!!! I have been creative with my own recipes and quite successful! Pizza parlor? How 'bout vegetarian pizza with no cheese and extra sauce! You'll never miss the greasy cheeses! Or...if you like greasy toppings, you can eat the topping and not the bread/dough. Or how 'bout tuna and mayo stuffed in a chilled red pepper! I work four jobs (bartending and full time student) and always have eat out/on the run; so I MUST be creative at fast food as well as regular restaraunts. Mexican? How 'bout chips and salsa, and flour tortilla's with a salad (which I use as the filling!) and a HUGE side of enchilada sauce slathered in and over the lettuce-filled tortillas! YUMMY CARB MEAL! There are so many easy ways to food combine! When one thinks about it, we like those huge burritos primarily for the salsa and sauce and eating the aforementioned meal is yet another easy way to stay within the somersizing limits!! Thank you Suzanne for sharing your secrets and changing my life -- and it IS my new way of life! I never feel I have to "cheat" because I have so many options!! If food combining is good enough for mega-babes Suzanne and Raquel Welch, it's sure good enough for me! (Ha! Know we know why they look so good and have those outstanding figures!!) And, trust me, I've turned many friends onto this book who've complimented me on my weight loss! And they, too, are loving it and experiencing spectacular results! Have lot's more creative fast food recipes too! Breakfast Jacks (no bun); cheeseburgers (no bun); cobb salads with extra blue cheese and oil and vinegar; Sugar free/fat free ice cream with nonfat milk; sugar-free pudding w/nonfat milk is another yummy desert! I could go on and on but...Bottom line: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! I love my new figure and energy!! YEEEEEEEE-HA!

Summary: Healthy concept that makes you feel great quickly.
Review: I think her concept is very good if you don't go crazy with the fat/meat allowance. This program is more like a "lifestyle change" than a diet. As a mother of two small children, I found the program easy to follow in a busy household. I liked her recipes, but think I would have enjoyed more family-oriented dishes. I lost eight pounds in the first three weeks and did not feel deprived or hungry. My family is all eating more whole grains and vegetables, a healthy change for all of us. I would have liked more health information in the book, and less vacation and family stories. Overall, it's a plan that is easy to follow and satisfying. I am thrilled that it has worked well for me! I welcome letters from anyone who would like to share support, recipe ideas, etc.

Summary: Flies in the face of other research
Review: If Dr. Dean Ornish's research is correct, this book is not only false in certain respects, it would be outright dangerous for some. According to her book, one can lower cholersterol by eating the fats one likes: cheese, sausages, etc. It even offers an illustration of an individual whose cholersterol was INCREASED by following what would amount to Dr. Ornish's plan featured in Newsweek a year or two ago. After having a borderline ECG treadmill test (lowered ST depressions at max) in September of 1998 with a HDL cholesterol at 30 and LDL at 159, I followed Dr. Ornish's advice and in 6 months the HDL was 33 (better but still not great) but the LDL was 113 (a drastic reduction of the bad cholesterol). I dropped 10 lbs. too. Somebody is right and somebody is wrong. Who is it?

Summary: Basically good advice
Review: The basics of the book are right on target I think. You can feel the results in just a couple of days if you are in tune with your body. What I noticed first was that I had virtually no bloating after eating. The recipes need to be more down to earth for the basic consumer and we could have done without her comments about her Irish lace, great homes and vacations, along with the family pictures!! I do believe that she's on the right track with the food combining. I feel better already after only four days. If nothing else, you learn to eat better and healthier, and isn't that what we're really after ?

Summary: Diet is good, but too much on family.
Review: Just bought her new book last week when it came out. Sofar, in 6 weeks lost 13 lbs.

Summary: This is the first diet that has made a difference.
Review: I have lost 15 pounds in 6 weeks and have felt so much better...lots of energy, no heartburn at night. The food combining really works. I have had some trouble finding sugar free and fat free breads but the rest has been a breeze. I love to bake my own pizza and the veggies and fat free cheese make a great combination. I work and have not found it hard to eat out or cook something at home in a hurry. The key is planning and making some advance preparations on the weekend. This is one diet you need to try! Thanks Suzanne! Can't wait to get the new cookbook.

Summary: It really worked for me!
Review: I first hear of the book a few years ago on the today show and it caught my interest. 21/2 years later I have managed to keep off my baby fat and feel great as long as I combine the foods "correctly". I love how I can eat great foods and walk away from the table knowing I will keep off the weight. So many of my girlfriends have started Somersizing and I love that they feel good about their bodies. I lood forward to Suzannes new book!!!!!

Summary: Too much focus on food and food preparation.
Review: This diet would be good for someone who has nothing else to do but spend all their time in the kitchen. To follow this diet, one must think about food and its preparation all day, every day. Deciding which food to eat or not to eat with another food is more than a busy person can handle. Suzanne Somers is a beautiful lady with a beautiful figure and was never REALLY fat. A person with a lot of pounds to lose would be wiser to find a life-time eating plan that is sensible and includes proper nutrition from all food groups in limited quantities. Bottom line: Calories do count!

Summary: I don't know why it works, but it does!
Review: I've been on more diets and programs than I care to remember. Almost all of them work if you follow the rules. The problem is that when you slip or reach your goal and return to your old habits the weight returns with a vengence.

This program is different from any of the others I've tried. It simpler, easier to follow once you get used to the fundamentals, and less restrictive than other programs. I like to cook and can usually find enough recipes in my files to vary our menus. Other recipes are sometimes adaptable to the program.

The book deals with digestive matters which were of no concern to me. Simply as a weight loss program I have found it to be effective and comfortable to stick with. I can see how one could easily stay with such a program indefinitely.

Thumbs up!

Summary: Who Cares What You WEIGH ??
Review: I read Suzanne's book three days ago, and started revising my food combinations that day. I have never cared what I WEIGHED... it is not the designation of pounds, grams, ounces that makes the difference, but how I look and feel. This morning I woke up a little before 5:00am, rested and full of energy. I can ALREADY feel the difference. It's about time that someone took this serious look at the Basic Food Groups.... I believe it is important to classify a food by it's use and effect on the body as opposed to it's origin. Suzanne, good for you! And to those of you out there who haven't read this simple and amazing book...DO IT! Try "re-combining" your food intake, even if you don't change what you eat! You will be amazed. This information would be inexpensive at ten times the price of her book!!
