Rating: Summary: Everyone should AT LEAST read this book!!!! It's fabulous! Review: Of all of the diets/eating plans I have ever researched, i.e. Atkins, SugarBusters, etc. Suzanne Somers' eating plan is the only one that makes nutritional sense to me. I believe that to truly eat healthy you must have some of EACH of the four main food groups - just not all together as she explains in her book. It's all about food combining. Also you can eat until you feel full - no measuring, counting or leaving the table hungry! A typical meal for me consists of salad covered in bleu cheese dressing, steak drizzled in butter and asparagus; or some whole wheat spaghetti with a garlic, basil tomato sauce; or for breakfast - a cheese omelet w/sausage on the side! Can you believe you can eat like this and still lose weight?!! I can truly see eating this way for the rest of my life!!!! Thanks, Suzanne!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: This book sounds great!!! Review: I I'm really excited to see such postives from this book. I have 30lbs. to lose. Some of the recipes look a little difficult too whip up. I have some questions. Can I use creamer in my coffee? Can I use speg. sauce from a can? Can you have dark choc. just on level two? If someone with exp. can answer some questions for me I would highly appreciate it ! I really want this program to work!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Breakfast Is Again My Favorite Meal Review: Both of Susanne's books are amazing. I was so fed up with counting calories and fat grams and now I can go out to breakfast and have a great omelet with bacon - just had to cut out the potatoes and bread (but that's okay!!). Books make a lot of sense with the separation of food groups. Been on this for about 2 weeks and am feeling great - have an abundance of energy - even cut the caffiene out of my daily routine (hardest thing). If you haven't tried this - you should.
Rating: Summary: Excellent & Exciting, A new beginning & Terrific ending! Review: Finally, a way of life I can be satisfied with and be healthy at the same time. It's exciting to be able to eat and not feel quilty. I LOVE IT! I would like to have a few questions answered that I'm not totally clear on and would appreciate your assistance in helping me to clarify them. 1. Whole wheat breads (rye, pumpernickel) some of the breads that I've found one has molasses as one of the ingredients(4th on the ingredients) and the other had sunflower seeds. Is it acceptable to have either of these as an ingredient? 2. Sorbets - I found one brand that says natural fruit - made with lemons, water, and sugar cane - again is this acceptable to have the sugar cane as an ingredient? 3. I found a pasta made with durum wheat and again one of the ingredients is oil of sweet basil, is this okay? If these are not okay to have can you recommend specific brands that have not traces of any of the above ingredients. I have read that Suzanne's favorite cereals are shredded wheat and grapenuts and even though they are considered carbo's I noticed on the box that grapenuts have sugar in the contents. So, once again if you can help me out so I can do this program properly I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful way of life Review: I have already reviewed this book and stated how great this program/way of life is! For those of you who have questions, just wanted to mention that there are a number of message boards and I have recently created a web page for recipes that are not in the book! Good luck and give it a shot- you're sure to like it! If you want more info just contact me!
Rating: Summary: "A Great Way To Get Back In the Swing Of Things" Review: I Love this book, before I got it I was a little skeptical at first but since I have been doing it I absolutely love it. I have lost 8 pounds in three and a half weeks and I am now in the 120's it has taken me so long to get out of the 30's and this book helped me do it. I feel this book is a great way to stay healthy and to still eat basicly what you want. I eat until I am comfortably full and it feels great instead of walking away from the table like you haven't eaten a thing. I have never eaten so much food and still lost weight but I have with this weight loss program. I strongly reccomend this book to anyone. When you receive the book the first week might be difficult at first but after that it will just become second nature to you. The Recipes are also great in this book there isn't one thing I haven't tried yet that I haven't liked.
Rating: Summary: Love the diet...need names of sugarless/honeyless breads Review: I have lost 10 lbs in one month and seem to be at a stand still. I think its because I find that every now and then I realize a bread or cereal I've been eating has a bit of sugar/honey/molasses/nuts or something else funky in it. I don't know if a little sugar will nulify an entire meal and turn it into fat immediatly! Thanks for the diet it's the only one that's ever worked for me.
Rating: Summary: I'M A BELEIVER!! Review: At first I could not beleive how the weight has just melted off. I've lost 12lbs in 3 weeks. Giving up sugar and white flour was hard but if you stick to it, it really works. When friends see me eating great foods they ask me what's my secret and I'm happy to tell them. Thank you Suzanne!!
Rating: Summary: No one has ever died from not having french fries... Review: This woman and her book are amazing. I can not tell you in just a few sentences how it has changed my entire attitude toward food. I've been on the 'program' now for about 4 weeks, and will be for the rest of my life. It just makes sense. I've lost a total of 11 pounds with about 10 left to go. Several of my friends and I are speaking daily about the program and how we are each being affected. The book is very straight forward, with just enough medical information to make it educational and informative. It reads like you're talking to a good friend or neighbor. Little did i know what carbohydrates were doing to my fluctuating blood sugar. It's actually entertaining to read the negative reviews and see the self-made barriers that people create. My suggestion would be to use Suzanne's basic combination suggestions throught the day and forget the recipes. They're great, but with a few minor adjustments to your own recipes, you will be Somersizing and your family won't even notice. And yes, I am living proof that one can live without baked potatoes or french fries with every meal!
Rating: Summary: one week, five pounds Review: I HAVE BEEN ON THE SOMERSIZE PROGRAM FOR ONE WEEK, AND HAVE LOST FIVE POUNDS. I AM SATISFIED AND FEEL GOOD, BUT HAVE HIT A PLATEAU. THE FIRST 5 DAYS OF THE DIET I LOST THE WEIGHT AND HAVE NOT LOST ANY MORE. I HAVE NOT BLOWN IT TO MY KNOWLEDGE. I HAVE ELIMINATED ALL FUNKY FOODS, EXCEPT COFFEE. I DON'T USE SUGAR AND ONLY A LITTLE SKIM MILK IN MY COFFEE, AND WONDER IF THAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF MY PLATEAU? IF ANYONE CAN RESPOND AND OFFER SUGGESTIONS IT WOULD BE HELPFUL.
