Summary: I am stuck
Review: I am stuck. I have completely converted over to this way of eating and I love it. I feel better and have more energy. HOWEVER, I have been on the plan for 2 solid months. I have only lost 4.5 pounds. I run 2.5 miles 5-6 times a week not to mention rollerblading and tennis. I am stuck I can not lose anymore weight. I normally do not include breads or pastas in my diet any way or it is on a very rare occasion that I do. I have eliminated all the funky food and still nothing. I intend to continue eating this way only because I feel good, but as far as a weight loss program this is not the one. Does anyone have any suggestions as to get me unstuck?

Summary: Food combining did not work for me.
Review: After 10 days without cheating on this "program," I gained three pounds. I am a fit individual who exercizes three or more times each week. I already eat only unrefined sugar and have removed white flour from my diet. I don't eat any of the foods that Suzanne refers to as "funky," yet I want to get rid of that last sticky 10 lbs. After following this diet I realize that most of the testimonials you read that say how people have lost tons of weight on this diet are a bit misleading. People have lost weight because they removed the "funky" foods from their diets. I strongly believe that it has nothing to do with food COMBINING. I gained weight because my body already was used to not eating the funky foods and the restrictions of combining carbos only and protein/fats only left my many many cravings for otherwise healthy food unsatisfied. Therefore, I'd eat more than usual trying to satisfy the craving. Also, Suzanne allows some foods that are much higher in sugar than some of the ones she eliminates. For example, she says it's fine to eat white grapes and snow peas but you can't have carrots! My advice to you is save yourself the grief of restricting your diet into food combining. Just completely eliminate fried foods, white flour, sugar (occasion unrefined sugar are ok if really occassional), potatos, white rice, alcohol and caffine. Eat corn, carrots, white grapes and snow peas only once in awhile and not in mass quanities. If you aren't already doing this, you'll lose just as much weight as with suzanne's program. Believe me, it takes awhile just to be comfortable getting rid of this stuff, (and I still falter at times!) why make it even harder on yourselves?

Summary: I was very faithful to this diet for 4 weeks and did't lose
Review: I was very faithful and careful and followed the plan step by step and did not lose weight! I am a person that usually does not have trouble with weight loss. I am puzzled!

Summary: I love to cook and this book is perfect!
Review: I just bought this book last weekend and began the program 2 days ago. I live in an area with lots and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and this book has fantastic recipes for those of us who love to cook like a "gourmet". I made the summer squash medley and Chicken with 40 cloves of garlic, along with my own recipe of sauteed mushrooms last night. I have 2 teenagers and they loved the meal -- my daughter actually asked for me to make the squash again!!!! Imagine that! They didn't miss the carbos (or even notice they were missing for that matter). I love the ideas for creative vegetable recipes. Nothing worse than trying to be creative with veggies. Fantastic book! Keep the recipes coming. For those of you intimidated by how the recipes sound, they're really really easy to prepare -- easier than most any cookbook.

Summary: Looks like a good book
Review: I just purchased the book and started the diet. I'm excited to see the results. There has been mention of a Somersizing Bulletin Board. If you know the location can you please post the location on this site. Thank you!

Summary: Easy to follow, good research, It's worth a try!
Review: The book is good, There are lots of good testimonies in it. I'm trying the diet to see if it will work. The negatives: The diet is not easy, you must be determined to stick to it, esecially if you like your junk food, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. Her recipes are somewhat unrealistic for the average American family, but you can easily apply the principles to your own dishes. The diet stresses healthy eating, and using as much fresh food as you can get your hands on,which is really great for you. It is a lifestyle change more than a diet, but we are doing it. If your struggling with your weight or want to eat healthier, try this book, definately!

Summary: FINALLY, A DIET THAT WORKS
Review: I have gone on many yo-yo diets over the years. Some as ridiculous as a cabbage soup diet, etc. When I saw Suzanne on Larry King Live several weeks ago, I was impressed by what she had to say. In the following weeks, I had heard story after story about people in my community 'Sommersizing' with great success. I have been on this diet for 27 days and have so far lost 19 lbs. I find it very easy to follow and I am satisfied with my meal choices. Although I haven't tried any of the recipes, many look very interesting. I don't see any problem with maintaining this lifestyle once my goal weight is achieved.

Summary: I think the diet is excellent.
Review: The only complaint I have is that I feel there should be some kind of 1-800 number that we can call if we need help with any aspect of the diet. I'm sure alot of people will share my feelings.

Summary: At 61 I'm having fun! I'm eating, exercising + more energy.
Review: My husband is 65 and we are both on this diet and have adapted very well to the food combining. No reflux or heartburn, no more mood swings. He is 6'2" and started out at 218. He has lost 14 lbs in 4 weeks and as for myself I have lost 8. I am 5'1 1/2" and need to be 115. I am almost there, three more lbs we will both reach our goals. Level 2 here we come! Questions...Can we ever have Popcorn? Are rice cakes with honey/peanuts by HAIN ok? Is Fat Free Half & Half ok with Cereal? 100% whole wheat bread with no sugar or honey is difficult to find. Any suggestions? Also on page 174 in Get Skinny, it says the pate is great on grilled bread. Isn't this the wrong combo?

Summary: Wow! And now there is a Somersizing bulletin board
Review: This is an incredible book! I have lost 9 lbs in 3 weeks and my husband has lost 14 in the same amount of time.

Although the book does a good job of explaining the diet and making it as simple as possible, I found I still had questions.

Luckily, I happened upon a Somersizing Bulletin Board where you can exchange recipes, offer and receive support and share tips. It is a great place. For any one interested in learning more or who have questions, you need to visit it.

Good luck!
