Summary: GREAT WAY TO START THE NEW YEAR
Review: This book is great. I have read it cover to cover. I bought the book back in July but wasn't quite commited at that time to losing my post baby pounds. I just started this new way of eating on January 3rd and am down 3lbs. I have had major sugar cravings since the birth of my child(10 months ago) and thought cutting sugar out would be the hardest part of this diet. But actually my cravings are coming to a halt. The hardest part of this diet I have found is coming up with some quick receips to prepare after work. I also live in a small town and some of Suzanne's ingredients I have never heard of or the store's here to not carry them. If anyone has any great idea's I would love to have them. Also is there a SOMERSIZING web sight out there to track everyone's progress?Please e-mail me at dahlgren@centurytel.net. Good luck to all!

Summary: I WANT POTATOES!
Review: I just got Suzanne's latest book and I really liked it it. I think it has a lot of useful info. It really makes sense. I've been doing it since Jan. 1, and I have cheated so my results are not that astounding yet. You do get to eat great foods, watch out for the dairy though. I had to reread some aspects of her book that didn't stick with me at first. For lack of something to drink at dinner I was having milk- 13 carbs. It was ruining my pro/fat meal.

I tried a potato substitute I found on the internet- can you say wallpaper paste? Giving up the taters has been the hardest part for me. If anyone wants to contact me to exchange tips, recipes and ideas that would be great. janderson@abts.net

Summary: Great and very rewarding!
Review: I've been on many diets and eating plans but.... Suzanne Somers' books are fantastic. I've bought and read both of her books. I started to Somerize in October and I'm now down 24 pounds. At first I thought how confusing but I just started and now it's an everyday part of life. Giving up caffine was the best thing I could of done. I now drink decafe and it taste the same! The receipes in her books are GREAT! and easy to prepare and cook. My goal for the Holiday's was to maintain my weight and I did! I even lost 3 pounds during the Holiday's. I enjoyed what I wanted and had the greatest Holiday's ever. Thanks to Suzanne Somers' and her brillant research!

Summary: Eat Great, Lose Weight
Review: Even though dieticians say this book is not based on science, they cannot say it is dangerous, because all the food groups and nutrients are included. I tried Atkins and got really sick of greasy food! It contains too many omega 6 fats, which are the worst fats for our health. On Somers' plan there are many more choices. I lost eight pounds the first month I tried it, which I was happy with, since fast losses often bring fast returns. We've had a house guest for six months who loved to bake great desserts, and I have no control when the smell of a peach or apple pie in the oven is wafting all over my house, so I gained ten pounds. I'm starting the plan again, and I hope I can repeat my first month and then continue losing. I am taking an effective fiber drink for the control of cholesterol, and I wonder if it is OK to take it with orange or grapefruit juice, or will that mess up keeping the fruit separate? Grapefruit, especially, isn't that sweet, so I thought it might be OK.

Summary: Susan Somers Latest "Diet" Books
Review: I rate this book a big fat ZERO. Ms. Somers bases her latest "diet" book(s) on "food combining". Unfortunately, she does not know the first thing about it. For example, she advocates eating bacon and eggs for breakfast. One very important principle of proper food combining says that one should not consume two concentrated proteins at one meal and another principle says that fat inhibits the digestion of protein. Eggs are one type of protein and bacon is another type; also, as you know, bacon is VERY HIGH in fat. Therefore, not only will you not digest properly, but because of the high (animal) protein diet, your body becomes acidic (acidosis) and must compensate by "leeching" calcium from your bones, leading to osteoporosis and kidney problems. Therefore, her instructions are misinformed, at best, and potentially dangerous, at worse. With this high fat, high (animal) protein diet, eventually your health will deteriorate. Ms. Somers proves that a little knowledge (more likely misinformation) can---and will---hurt you.

Summary: Easy way to loose weight!
Review: My husband and I have just finished a wonderful meal of Morrocan chicken, baked spagetti squash and crisp stir fried zuccini squash. It was such a tasty,filling and gourmet type meal that he suggested I share our excitement with all the Somersizing fans! The chicken recipe is one of our favorites and we enjoy using the left over preserved lemon in other dishes. We started on this diet in Sept. and have both lost 20 pounds. After a couple of months we did start to cheat a bit and found that as long as we return right back to the plan we maintain our weight. We are off on a two week holiday soon and will try to keep to the diet as much as possible but know that if we return a few pounds up that it is very easy to loose them quickly by going right back to level one again. If the person who was looking for the eggplant parmesan recipe finds it, I would appreciate if you would send it along. I would also like to correspond with anyone who enjoys trading ideas. Review: Catherine, I tried to e-mail you but didn't know your address! I found whole wheat flour as well as whole wheat pasta at my local Giant Eagle store. As for bread, I'm not sure. I haven't started the program yet. I just got the book yesterday.It all makes sense to me. GOOD LUCK ALL!

Summary: Best "Diet" I have ever been on
Review: It isn't a diet because on this plan you can eat until you are satisfied at every meal! And the food you can eat is delicious. p.s. Summary: Great book for losing weight and...Yes, Entertaining!
Review: I have read both books and have prepared several of the dishes and abolutely love them! I have been on the program only a short time but have really noticed a big difference! I highly recommend it! It is so easy to follow. You can also entertain guests using the guidelines and no one would ever complain! The Almond Tart and Creme Brulee are to die for! I also love the wonderful veggie dishes! My husband and the kids love these dishes. I have so many ideas for recipes and have altered many even from Bon Appetit to fit within the parameters of this program. I hope Suzanne Somers comes out with another book featuring many more of her recipes. Just think, you can eat like royalty and lose weight! Thank you Suzanne! Would anyone like some recipes?
