Rating: Summary: This book has obviously been written by a man. Review: This book did have some enlightening ideas but still placed the burden of a successful relationship squarely on the woman. It continuously stressed that the woman should be more loving and giving and understanding. Sorry, but it's a two way street in a relationship, with EQUAL responsibility
Rating: Summary: Bad book. Review: Men and women aren't opposites
Rating: Summary: Absolute twaddle. Review: Gray is a charlatan at best, a caveman at worst. This take on gender relations is insulting to men, women, and aliens
Rating: Summary: Everyone should read this book and have thier eyes opened. Review: If you are either male or female and you interact with the opposite sex on a regualar basis you should be required to read this book. I am currently engaged and my wife-to-be and I both bought this book for each other last Valentine's day. We would read a chapter and then discuss it. It changed our relatioship for the better and turned good communication into great communication. It made me understand more of what she needs from me and what I need to understand about and give her. Read this book. Read this book. I can't say anymore than that
Rating: Summary: Helpful for understanding the differences between the sexes. Review: This is an excellent book to help understand the differences between men and women. Even if you are in the best relationship, it will help you to communicate your feelings and know what your partner is thinking. A must for anyone and everyone
Rating: Summary: educational Review: I feel that all these critics should just relax about John Gray. So many people out there with disfunctional relationships and they actually have the audasity to criticize someone with some useful input. Even if John does not have all the answers and knowledge, at least he has more than the average individual in todays society. If anyone read Men are From Mars... and got just one small piece of information from it, I do feel that they would be one step ahead of their neighboring friends. I think everyone should read just the first chapter and their ideas on relationships would be taken from the dark and put in the light
Rating: Summary: Everyone should own a copy of this book! Review: If you're like me, you tend to get nervous when a book is known by everyone you meet. There is something exciting about discovering a "hidden treasure". Once in a while a book speaks so strongly to so many people, that it does the impossible. It is popular and worthwhile. This is one of those books. I look back at my own divorce and the complaints I heard from the "X", and find that most of the complaints are detailed in this book. All of a sudden, I realize that things I had assumed that I alone tended to do were done by many others. The best part is that this book gives simple pragmatic execrcises to change communication for the better. Get the book and stay married
Rating: Summary: Very inspiring and helpful in evryday relationships w/ women Review: It opens your eyes to a new way of seeing and perceiving other men and women. I discovered I have some women traits and it helpmed me to learn more about myself and how I can improve my working and pesonal relationships with women. As a male I always thought that I had only male traits as other men do but it's nice to know that I can be comfortable with my female traits!
Thank you so much, John Gray
Rating: Summary: Excellent handbook for relationships Review: I love this book. I found it to be the only self-help book on relationships which really does look at it from
both sides, and everyone I've shared it with found it
helpful. While the examples get repetitive a times,
the message is a good one.
Rating: Summary: readable but not very useful Review: Gray's book offers a great deal of correct but superficial observations on men and women trying to work out better relationships. The book lacks depth and sorely needs it
