Rating: Summary: Best Book of the Year for Weight Loss Review: This book is a masterpiece. The author doesn't merely repeat the same dogma- calories in and calories out. She identifies 5 Hidden Weight Gain Factors that sure opened my eyes. (My anti-depressant created about 30 pounds of my weight gain.)I recommend this book to everybody. P.S. I already lost 10 pounds and have been on Phase 1 for Two Weeks. I look better and most important of all, I feel so much better. Bravo.
Rating: Summary: Fat Flush Plan Review: It's irritating that the only review that found this diet plan 'rigid' and 'regimented' was the... reviewer! I would think it would be embarrassing... to have a review by someone who so clearly did no research (or he/she would have known much differently) and only a cursery reading. Glib, unresearched reviews are a serious disservice to the reader and author alike. Sharpen up & shape up. (Possibly Annes book could help!) My highest recommendtion is my own success which only becomes redundent, as this plan seems to work wonders for everyone! What a treasure Ann's work is for us all.
Rating: Summary: Wanted a healthy life! Hear it comes!! Review: Hey, this book is awesome!!!!! My son bought this for us (me) for Mothers day! I am 53yo and over 200lbs. Not anymore! In 5 weeks I went from size 22 to size 16. THIS IS NOT A DIET! It is a detox plan and then goes into life style plan. This is not a weigh yourself and count your calories plan. You need to read the WHOLE BOOK and I found I had to go back a second time since this is so much information on good eating choices. There is fantastic recipes, menu samples, list of what to buy at the store and recommendations. If you want to change your life and health BUY THIS BOOK. It will be a change, and may seem different yet if you stay with it the change is sooo wonderful!! I feel that when you decide to change your life you have to have a healthy mind set to match your behaviors! This is not a quick fix! I would say give this book as gift to yourself and others you care about!! Thank you Ann for your years of hard work and passing it on!
Rating: Summary: Great for Women AND Men! Review: I'm another over 55 believer in the FFP. My husand and I have been on the diet for 6 weeks, one of which was during a very indulgent vacation. Despite our "falling off the wagon" then (I gained 4 pounds but lost 5 two days after returning home!), he has lost 32 pounds and I have lost 23! We feel great, remain motivated, and both notice a big difference in our skin. Now half the people I know have decided to become believers--and the weight losses are amazing! Count us in as converts to a healthier eating style.
Rating: Summary: Revolutionary - Naysayers Should At Least Read the Book Review: ...This is not a typical weight loss book and losing weight is not so easy as simply counting calories or excercising more...If it were, nobody would be overweight in this country and from what I am reading, we are fatter than ever in 2002...read this book and especially reread Gittleman's chapter on the Hidden Weight Gain Factors and THEN make your comments...certain fats are very important for health as Gittleman points out in the Hidden Weight Gain chapter. A fat free diet - like the McDougal program and even the Dean Ornish program - doesn't work either - or we wouldn't be so overweight now. I was on these programs years ago and my hair fell out and I GAINED ten pounds in two months. On this program, I have never looked or felt better. I did the program when my girlfriend, who works at Nordstrom's here in Spokane WA, said many of her co-workers (and their boyfriends) were on the program and it was really effective. Today many of my other friends are raving at my 17 pound weight loss. I am excited that for the first time in years, I can sleep throughout the night. I think its the right fats in this program. OK...This book is revolutionary.

Rating: Summary: I lost the weight, I feel great, and no more fibromyalgia Review: All the girls in the office are doing Fat Flush. I decided to give it a try. It wasn't easy or pleasant those first few days. Now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have lost my tummy, my bloat and my aches and pains are much less severe. Gittleman's board on ivillage provides daily support. I will be on Phase 3 for life, I think.
Rating: Summary: What's so complicated with losing weight? Review: Losing weight is extremely simple. Spend more energy than you consume, and the weight will come off. Guaranteed. All it takes is some knowledge, dedication and discipline. There is no silver bullet, all these fad diets work to the extent the end result is a negative difference between energy consumed and energy spent. Get a good calorie guide, eat 1200-1500 calories a day of whatever food you want to eat, exercise for at least 40 minutes 5 times a week and you will lose weight. If you're not, you are cheating somewhere. There is nothing more to it. If you want to make some people rich by buying these books, by all means do that. It will not change any of the above.
Rating: Summary: Feelin' Good and Lookin' Good Review: Hey, I did the FF to clean out my system. I lost weight and inches as a side effect. The best part is that I am no longer hungry between meals, don't obsess about food, have a glow to my skin and my cellulite even looks less pronounced. The ivillage messaging board is quite awesome. Gittleman even gets on the board herself and answers questions. Great program.
Rating: Summary: A New Paradigm for Weight Loss Review: Science is finally coming up with some really outstanding weight/fat loss information and Ann Louis Gittleman does an excellent job of bringing it to us in a form we can understand and use. Weight loss is only one reason we would want to keep our livers healthy, but I had no idea how essential its role was until I read the Fat Flush Plan. The book is written in terms which are easy to follow and best of all, the plan makes sense. It has not only helped me keep my weight down, but I also broke some nasty habits I hadn't been able to let go of in the past. While drinking lemon juice in the morning and cranberry juice all day, my cravings for coffee and diet colas disappeared. I had decided to give the plan two weeks and have ended up incorporating it in my life permanently. I think this is an important book for people to read because of the health information even if they don't need to lose weight/fat. I recommend it highly.
