Rating: Summary: A must for anyone embarking on a lifestyle change. Review: I've always hated the idea of writing down my food intake and counting calories but this journal actually makes it a pleasure. Since I have gotten this book I am able to track every little thing which has been really great. Since starting this journal I have lost over 30lbs.One aspect it provides is an incentive when I hit a plateau. Seeing how long it takes my body to acclimate to a lower weight makes getting over those plateaus just a bit easier. By tracking my progress in this much detail I can see where problems spring up and deal with them before they sabotage me. Another plus that this journal has that I have not found in others is a space for fiber intake. As this is a very important part of my lifestyle change it has been a godsend. While I wouldn't attribute my weight loss to keeping this journal, (that comes mostly from eating right and exercising) I will give credit to the designers for making it easy to use and a wonderful helper on my way to a healthier life. I will never be without one.
Rating: Summary: The best diet journal on the market! Review: If you are serious about following a healthy diet and excercise, this is the journal for you! Each day is represented in a 2-page spread that includes space for the nutritional breakdown of everything consumed (broken into 3 meals and snacks). The accountability doesn't stop there-you also get a checkoff list for amount of water, supplements, excercise, etc. etc. I also loved the size of the journal-perfect for a medium sized purse or briefcase. The beginning of DietMinder is filled with tips on filling out the pages, nutritional guidelines, serving sizes and calorie expenditure chart. There are also pages for your goals and before during and after pictures. The back of the journal gives you food facts and a place to graph your results. I plan to purchase several to continue watching my nutritional habits once I achieve my target weight.
Rating: Summary: Helpful little food diary Review: If you want to be sure that your diet is working for you, you have to write it down! This little book has everything covered for you--it takes the guesswork out of your notes. It has separate areas for your calories, macronutrients, daily activities, weight, and a space for you to write down how you feel throughout the day. It also has an area in the back where you can graph your progress for some extra motivation & spaces in the front for before and after pictures and physical stats/measurements. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that wants to see serious changes in their body composition.

Rating: Summary: This Journal Is A Great Management Tool! Review: If you want to hold yourself accountable and manage your food and fitness goals - this is the journal for you. I was very impressed with the detail, DietMinder put into their product. Plenty of space to write/record. I never kept track of my calorie/fat grams/ etc. of foods that I consume. This has been an eye opener, to realize just what you consume in a day. The only drawback for me personally was their food lists. In the back they list several foods with all the nutrition information you need. They also have spaces for you to add your own products that you eat. BUT, if this is suppose to be a food/fitness journal you really wouldn't be eating whoppers, Haagen Dazs and Dove ice cream bars. I feel all fruits and vegetables should be listed, along with more healthy foods - legumes, nuts, more fish, condiments and salad dressings. Otherwise, I highly recommend this journal.
Rating: Summary: DietMinder-A great mind for my diet Review: The DietMinder is a great tool to track food intake(calories, fat grams, protein, etc--plus a couple of column for your own personal tracking ideas). It gives you a good view of you entire day. It also includes a small section for exercise. I would like to see it bigger to track my weight training sessions--just not enough room for the different exercises, reps, weight etc. Hard to track your progression in this area. All in all tho' I am very satisfied with this book. In fact, my gym partner and I are ordering our second book right now!
Rating: Summary: This will help you find success! Review: This book is fabulous. Buy it. Commit yourself to it. You set your nutritional goals and then write down everything you put in your mouth -- there is room for 3 meals and snacks. You can also record what vitamins and medications you take and how much you exercise. I've lost 10 pounds so far -- and I've lost them in a healthy way. The book won't make you not cheat -- but if you lie, then you only lie to yourself. Get this book, and take it with you everywhere. You'll be surprised by the totals at the end of each day -- and you will be able to poinpoint problems (i.e. too many carbs). Good luck!
Rating: Summary: DietMinder: Personal Diet & Fitness Journal Review: This is a great book! I wish I could have found this book years ago. I would have had better sucess in losing weight by keeping track of my food intake and excercise routine. All it takes is a few seconds to write down what you ate and how much you exercised. I recommend this book to any one who is dieting or just wants to stay healthy. This simple journal will help you change your life for the better!
Rating: Summary: Interesting Review: This is an interesting book/journal. I like the idea of keeping track of what I'm eating and drinking and this journal does very nicely in that regard. It's basically what you'd expect: a journal. Not a preachy diet book, not a cookbook, and not a bunch of pshychobabble or advice. In truth, a spiral notebook or Excel spreadsheet would work just about as well. Really. Nevertheless, owning this journal has proven a little more motivating than simply using a spiral notebook or scratch paper. It's more official and the price is fairly reasonable. I've had a great time documenting my goals (less meat, less carbs, more fruit, more vegies, less beer, more water) and an even better time documenting my failures (example entry: 12/31/02: Intake--8 oz filet, mashed potatoes (the works), Anchor Steam draft (x7), champagne, cheesecake, champagne). All in all, a worthy purchase. Get it!!!
