Summary: Accountability Just My Style
Review: After giving birth to my baby I was committed to losing weight and becoming a stronger, healthier role model for my daughter. I read a great book, The Business Plan for the Body, and in it, the author wrote that most people fail on changing their eating patterns because they don't keep a food diary. He claims that until the routines of eating healthy are solidified, food journaling is key to success. I've done weight watchers and atkins and have never had great results. It has nothing to do with the validity of either of those programs, it's me! I cheat! For me, there's something different about writing it down. I feel more accountable. I've already lost 32 pounds and am more motivated and satisfied than ever before. This book is wonderfully organized. It has a place to write your long term goals, chart your long term success, and keep day to day track of your food and activity. Further, you can use only the parts of what works for your system, be it points, fiber, fat, carbs, or calories. At the end of each day, there's a place to circle whether or not you met your goal for the day; and I know this sounds SO first grade, but I'm always pumped to circle "YES"!

Summary: DietMinder Rocks
Review: DietMinder is by far the best food and exercise log I've found. It's well-designed, comprehensive, and easy to use. Until I discovered DietMinder, I was keeping records on my computer on a self-designed form that fell very short of the ideal. My only criticism is that it's a bit too large to tote around in my pack, but, if it were smaller, it wouldn't be as useful.

Summary: Finally, a good food journal!
Review: Finally, a good food journal! The last food journal I bought (The Corinne T. Netzer Dieter's Diary) was totally useless. The DietMinder is wonderful! It has 3 months worth of pages to keep track of your daily food intake, calories, carbohydrates, fat grams, protein, fiber, water, vitamins, herbal supplements, medications, and exercise. It has pages for a "before and after" photo of yourself and for your "personal goals". Pages in the back to list your favorite foods and their food values. Also has pages to chart your weight, measurements, blood pressure, and cholesterol level. It has a pink cover (not blue/green like in the photo). I thought I'd mention that because I didn't expect it to be pink.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I am so glad that someone thought of the idea of putting this journal together. I was very happy since I was counting fat grams, fiber and starting to track calories. The journal I had found would either let you track one or the other. I was put on high blood pressure medicine and was told if I lost the weight I could come off. A dear of mine told me about this journal. She said I have found journal that we both had been looking for. She stated that it would let us track what we had talked about. At the time the one we had did not let you track your water, but we both now had the newer version and it is great. On my next visit to the doctor I took my journal with me. He love it!!! He said that he had not seen anything like this and to continue to use this journal.

I have one recommendation. I would combine the Health Journal and the Diet Minder together. The reason I say that for those of us who may have health issues that we are dealing with and are told to keep track on a daily or weekly basis. That will give us everything we would need in one. We would not have to take 2 separate books with us when we go out or to the doctor.

Summary: The Most Important Dieting Tool Out There
Review: I became aware of the importance of recording what I eat while partaking in a "Rapid Results" program at my local gym (with a personal trainer). I was given a small pocket-sized food log, in which I recorded what I ate and when. This really forced me to take a look at my eating habits, and change them for the better. However, with the small food log I was using, I couldn't record other useful information, such as fat grams, protein, carbs and fiber. So after I filled up that food log, I purchased the Diet Minder's Food and Fitness Journal.

This book contains everything you would want in a food journal and more. First, there are sections in the beginning in which you describe your current physical condition and your goals (there are even places for you to put "before" and "after" pics. Then, on the pages where you record your daily records, there are sections to record calories consumed (as well as fat, carbs, protein and fiber), water consumed, snacks consumed, Vitamins/supplements/meds, physical activity, calories burned during physical activity, weight, and any notes you wish to add.

The Diet Minder's Food and Fitness Journal is perfect for anyone who wants to keep track of what they eat (or how much they exercise), especially if your on a "special" diet where you have to have a certain fat/protein/carbohydrate ratio. It is small enough to take anywhere, but large enough to comfortably record necessary information.

From personal experience I believe that recording food intake and exercise is extremely important when it comes to health and weight loss(of course there are also studies that prove this to be true!). Doing so motivates you to stay with your plan, and try harder to reach your goals. It also gives you a dose of reality when you have to record that piece of cake you had after dinner that just tacked on an extra 350 calories!

I highly recommend this journal to anyone who wants to lose weight and improve his or her health.

Summary: Wonderful Journal
Review: I have been using this journal for the past 3 months to record my progress with WeightWatchers. This journal works well with any type of diet, with plenty of space to record the information you want. I highly reccommend it to anyone who wants to examine what he or she eats.

Summary: THE WAIT IS OVER
Review: I have tried for years to find a perfect book for writing down my food intake and exercise. I even tried making my own. I have purchased in the past the 'The Pocket Food and Exercise Dairy'. It was too small and fell apart rapidly. I also purchased 'The Corinne Netzer Dieter's Diary'. When I came across this journal when ordering Christmas items, I decided to give it a try. When it came it was a struggle to hold onto it since my 20 yr. old daughter wanted it. I purchased another one for her that will arrive soon. I urge anyone that feels that writing down food intake helps dieting to get this book. I plan on ordering a year's worth for myself and my daughter. It is funny how you will think twice about that Dairy Queen (my downfall) when you have to write it down.

Summary: DietMinder Hits the Spot
Review: I just received my 1st copy of Dietminder and I absolutely love it. This is just what I have been looking for. Six months ago I typed up this same format on my home computer, and placed all my paper in an 8 by 11 notebook, but I became frustrated with that b/c it was to big and bulkly. Ever since then I started looking around for a book similar to my home version, but small enough that I can carry it in my purse & bingo I found it.

Dietminder has everything you will need to help you keep track of your weight-loss process. You can make note of any nutritional and/or dietary supplements you take daily as well as keep track of your calories, sodium, fiber & fat grams etc. It also provides you with a place to record your goals, present weight, physcial activity performance & your before & after photos. I love it and would definetly get it again, but keep in mind if your not the type of person who is detail oriented when it come to your weight loss process then this journal might not be for you.

Summary: Flexible yet comprehensive
Review: I liked it enough to buy another one. It's flexible enough to use as you like--room for goals, measurements, pictures, foods consumed, exercise, etc. Feel free to use as much or as little of this journal as you are comfortable with. While it allows you to track calories, fat, carbs, protein, and fiber, it has two blank columns for whatever you wish (I use one for sodium). This journal is packed with information, yet it's easily carried in purse, briefcase, or daytimer. It leaves plenty of space for you to make entries (and that's what this journal is all about--you!).

Summary: Journal Can Help a Lot. Good Journal for food & exercise...
Review: I lost a ton of weight using discipline, of course, and journaling. If you are willing, having a journal like this to write down what you eat and what exercise you do can make a big difference. It's worth a try if you have not tried it before. Also, to help with self-improvement of any kind, including weight loss, read Effortless Wellbeing by Evan Finer. That book will help you feel better, more in control, happier with where you are now, and more well and powerful in general. There is actually a small journal in there too, but not for food... Highly recommended!! Good luck!!
