Summary: A thermometer for the enlightenment of society
Review: There is too much to talk about with Dr. Hawkins' book. It is more of a mind blower the second time around. Some of the concepts will make you put down the book for a few moments to think about what is really possible in life. We all have psychic potential and Dr. Hawkins has realized how almost anyone can tap into channels to see if something is going to increase your life energy or destroy it. I recomend this book to anyone who wants to achieve their maximum potential in life.

Summary: Dr Wayne Dyer introduced me to this book
Review: Dr Wayne Dyer introduced me to this book at one of his seminars.

The first chapter is extremely involved in the scientific methods used to corroborate Dr Hawkins findings. It becomes an easier read after that.

After finishing the book I felt like I was on a contact high with spiritual enlightenment. Very powerful book. I will definitely be re-reading this book for years to come.

Summary: Eternal Truth
Review: Power vs. Force, the life's work of Dr. David R. Hawkins is a must-read for any student of spirituality. The scientifically valid findings about human consciousness, based on kinesiological testing, are stunning. The implications on the future of mankind are equally stunning. The truths expounded upon in this book are enlightening, consciousness raising, and not to be missed for truth seekers. A profound experience of awakening ensues. Enjoy!

Summary: I've got a question.
Review: I actually read traslated book and I liked it. First of all, the progress they made from material to thoughts, and second they invented the way to measure the specific level of thoughts!! Though I am getting some hard time experimenting, but it's kinda interesting and will be shocking if it's true.

By the way, in the book, the author says we can measure the level of music and picture. so i wonder what are over 600 and what are below 200. I think measuring the level is another way of evaluating works. Body's evalution?

I dont have any way to contact the author, so my apology to write here and would be happy if i got the way

Summary: QUANTITATIVE ASSESSMENT-3
Review: HAWKINS5.WPD 16 April 2001

QUANTITATIVE ASSESSMENT-3

Hawkins claims on Page 234 that "the energy of human thought" is measured in micro-watts. Alas and alack, the units of energy or work are ergs in the cgs system. The units of power are ergs per second, where:-

1 Watt = 10^7 erg/sec and 1 Micro-watt = 10 erg/sec, so what does Hawkins mean re thought? Is it energy or power?

Remember that Planck discovered quanta of energy, since he proved that energy was discrete, thereby discounting any theories that assume it to be infinitely continuous. The photon is that smallest energy bundle and its value is hv where h is Planck's Constant and v is the frequency. To evaluate the photon of thought energy we need the frequency of thought to be mighty small to agree with Hawkins' figures.

Since one cannot have less than one photon, those immense denominators provided in the text would involve minute fractions of a photon, which is not on.

However there is a hypothetical loop hole when considering power since one erg per many billions of googols of googols of years would be able to represent a very small amount of power.

He would be better off using the proper units for that scale of power, however, namely electron volts/sec, where:- 1 electron volt per second (eV/sec) = 1.60 x 10^(-12) ergs/sec 1 Micro-watt = 10 erg/sec = 10 x 10^12/1.6 eV = 10^7/1.6 MeV = 10^4/1.6 BeV

So Hawkins' escape clause would be to publish an errata covering all his mathematical flaws, that were highlighted in my two previous reviews as well as amending thought units to be power units.

Of course this would in no way give truth to his claim of having measured it.

Summary: magnificient!
Review: I was very surprised to read this book because the contents of this book are very similar to those of Oriental religion, like buddhism, korean and chinese traditional Tao and other ones. famous monks and gurus always say that everyone must meditate, pray and keep on doing good deeds.to be able to obtain awareness any moument in future. Likewise, this book places emphasis on courage, spontaneity, benevolence and unconditional love. these kinds of behaviors are closely connected with complete renouncing of selfish desires.every guru stresses that If anyone can give up worldly desire and tenacity heartily, one will go into the world of awareness. when he attained this degree of spiritual marturity, he can do everything for others, even though he is willing to lay down his life for anyone. everything in the world will be improved in proportion to the marturity of human consciousness. I would like to exchange opinions with anyone about the relationship between buddhism and david,r,hawkins's teaching. e-mail;shingon@kornet.net

Summary: Ground Breaking Work - A Milestone For Human Consciousness.
Review: The new science of kinesiology ushered in a powerful diagnostic tool called "muscle testing". (Muscle testing is a simple procedure for testing strong/weak responses, such as that of an outstretched arm, in response to questioning). Despite the revolutionary nature of these discoveries, most people are willing to rationalize that something other than the "conscious mind" is at play, something whose function it is to oversee the well-being of the individual and manage the body's myriad complex subsystems. It could then be extrapolated that this benign functionality - "subconscious mind", "field" or whatever - would be willing to communicate with the "outside world" when matters regarding the well-being of its charge were concerned.

Dr. Hawkins, however, has taken a quantum leap with the idea of muscle testing. Rather than simply regarding the field or subconscious mind as the governing mechanism of the individual's body, he applied muscle testing in the context of traditional metaphysical paradigms stating that all things are connected, that all events, actions, thoughts and emotions are written into the unlimited Database of Consciousness, and that as participants in this universe, we all have access to that Database. Thus through muscle testing we have the ability to get the answer to any question we can formulate (except pertaining to the future, which has not yet been written into the record). The implications of this are staggering. Did O.J. do it? Is the government telling the truth about thus-and-such? We now have the means for direct knowledge.

Most authors would be content to base an entire book solely on these revelations, but surprisingly this is merely the groundwork laid out by Dr. Hawkins for the rest of the book! Based on thousands of studies using these methods, striving for 100% repeatability on the tests, he explains many aspects of human experience including a Spectrum of Consciousness. Based on a logarithmic scale of 1 to 1000, all ideas, emotions, concepts, thoughts, works of art, literature and science, resonate at some level. Above the level of 200 these energies are considered nurturing, positive and "good" (Power). Below 200 are energies that are destructive, negative and "evil" (Force).

Dr. Hawkins explores how "attractor" energies (mathematics from chaos theory) influence art, science, medicine and sports and examines the specific mechanisms leading to health and disease. He examines the quality of our institutions and discusses the nature of Consciousness and the path to enlightenment. All concepts are presented with exceptional clarity and lucidity, without any sign of pedantry. Finally, as the title of the book suggests, one may attain a quantitative understanding of the difference between Power and Force. (Examine the handling of the Elian Gonzales case based on these criteria).

This book is an absolute must for anyone searching for a better understanding of "how reality works". And so we thank those who calibrate high on the Scale Of Consciousness, who lead the rest of us forward, kicking and screaming, on the path of enlightenment...
