Summary: Power Vs. Force
Review: This is an exceptional work by an exceptional soul. David Hawkins truly understands both the scientific and spiritual realms. In the book he cites to the works of scientists, philosophers and spiritualists as he explains the phenomena of individual and collective consciousness. For those who doubt or scoff at the ancient truths embodied in eastern spirituality, one need only read this book to have the truths examined, explained and illustrated from a scientific perspective. He also explains how we can tap into Universal Consciousness to separate and extract the kernel of truth from the myriad views of thinkers over the past many centuries. Reading this book will also facilitate the reader in expanding his or her consciousness.

Summary: Ground Breaking Work - A Milestone For Human Consciousness.
Review: The new science of Kinesiology ushered in a powerful diagnostic tool called "muscle testing". (Muscle testing is a simple procedure for testing strong/weak responses, such as that of an outstretched arm, in response to questioning). Despite the revolutionary nature of these discoveries, most people are willing to rationalize that something other than the "conscious mind" is at play, something whose function it is to oversee the well-being of the individual and manage the body's myriad complex subsystems. It could then be extrapolated that this benign functionality - "subconscious mind", "field" or whatever - would be willing to communicate with the "outside world" when matters regarding the well-being of its charge were concerned.

Dr. Hawkins, however, has taken a quantum leap with the idea of muscle testing. Rather than simply regarding the field or subconscious mind as the governing mechanism of the individual's body, he applied muscle testing in the context of traditional metaphysical paradigms stating that all things are connected, that all events, actions, thoughts and emotions are written into the unlimited Database of Consciousness, and that as participants in this universe, we all have access to that Database. Thus through muscle testing we have the ability to get the answer to any question we can formulate (except pertaining to the future, which has not yet been written into the record). The implications of this are staggering. Did aliens put a face on Mars? Is the government telling the truth about thus-and-such? We now have the means for direct knowledge.

Most authors would be content to base an entire book solely on these revelations, but surprisingly this is merely the groundwork laid out by Dr. Hawkins for the rest of the book! Based on thousands of studies using these methods, striving for 100% repeatability on the tests, he explains many aspects of human experience including a Scale of Consciousness. Based on a logarithmic scale of 1 to 1000, all ideas, emotions, concepts, thoughts, works of art, literature and science, resonate at some level. Above the level of 200 these energies are considered nurturing, positive and "good" (Power). Below 200 are energies that are destructive, negative and "evil" (Force).

Dr. Hawkins explores how "attractor" energies (mathematics from chaos theory) influence art, science, medicine and sports and examines the specific mechanisms leading to health and disease. He examines the quality of our institutions and discusses the nature of Consciousness and the path to Enlightenment. All concepts are presented with exceptional clarity and lucidity, without any sign of pedantry. Finally, as the title of the book suggests, one may attain a quantitative understanding of the difference between Power and Force.

This book is an absolute must for anyone searching for a better understanding of "how reality works".

Summary: Beyond Chopra et al
Review: This first book by Dr. Hawkins, a scientist, is a breakthrough for scientific minds searching for credible evidence to the ultimate paradox--the relationship between science and spirituality. This book is not based on a series of citations from "credible sources," nor is it one of the New Age feelgood books. This book, the first in a trilogy, is the writings of a man who has experienced, himself, what he writes. Be sure to follow up with his second book, "The Eye of the I."

Summary: I'm not sure I 'get' it...
Review: 'P vs F' has a wealth of universal truths about human perception, but after I finished it, I felt right back where I started..."Our vision of consciousness is linked with our concept of self. The more limited the sense of self, the smaller the parameter of experiencing".....You can't argue with that, but but so what?

Summary: good book, but with some caviets
Review: This book has a lot of marketing hype associated with it and it's system. The big caviet of the book is that they don't tell you from reading the reviews that it takes 2 people to use the "method" of determining what is the answer to any particular question. The book also fails to mention other factors that may limit the reliability of the system which is explained in other kisneology books (psychological/emotional blocks, psychological expectation of a certain answer, weeknesses in the tester or the testee might affect the outcome, sickness or disease in a particular area can also affect the answer). It only addresses a few of the limitations of the system (wearing metal on the body, bad thyroid, etc). The biggest contribution of this book comes in it's assesment of it's point system with regard to human evolution. If you do read this book, also be sure to check out other kisneology books (ones with good reviews, It'll probably be expensive, unless you get lucky with a cheap book) that (hopefully) will explain why and how muscle testing can fail. If you are seeking knowledge, then this is a good book for you. If you want a 100% way of answering any question you can think of, then you must take in the information with the caviets, and know that not every answer is not necessarily reliable.
