For higher readers, it may sound a little redundant when you read it, but it's message is clear and simple. Ruiz uses a lot of the same words in one paragraph. But it is easy to understand his work. He provides an adequate number of examples for each agreement you must make within yourself in order to reach happiness and clarity with yourself. These examples are simple and easy to relate to. Read this book and follow its directions and you will see a different side to the world as soon as you finish and apply its concepts into your world.
Rating: Summary: The four agreable Tensions: Debates of Baal Toltec Review: The four agreeable Tensions: The Shamanic master, Don Miguel Ruiz exposes his thought and personal dramatic near death experience in his beautifully presented book. Any master has to philosophize his experience responding to the questions that matter. But Baal Tolec is here concerned with a liberation philosophy, to respond to life challenging encounters; building positive experience, retaining good memories that may have been jeopardized by self misconception, potential limitation, or paralyzing prejudice. The Mystical Parallels: This book proves that the mystical world embraces together with the desert fathers and their Trappist and Cistercian offspring the confraternity of the Sufis, Toltec Shamans, and few others. Don Miguel started with a holistic inquiry, the power of a dreaming mind, a creative positive mind defragmented by self analysis, through symbolic dreaming, liberating your insight, restoring true self united with the Universal Creator. His prelude to a new dream makes the case and defines the scope of his book. The impeccable Word: Baal Toltec, the Shamanic Master refers to the most Crucial revelation made to humans on the Word of God, in the Gospel of John. The Holy Word through whom life, the positive existence was revealed to humanity of the created universe, focuses on the vital importance of impeccability with your word. Not only does he elaborate on John's statement, but explains in a fine way the parable of the sower. Negative alienation from truth that set you free, promote the demonic powers of self destruction. Hitler, a half Jew who so hated himself, or his mother or both to cause one of the most vivid demonstration on the fall of humanity in ignorant hate through the lie of Aryan Supremacy. Three Secondary Agreements: What follows is based on the first which Don Miguel proposes transcend to the ultimate level of existence, a heavenly life. This is in fact closely similar to Christ revealing on the meaning and centrality of the first commandment of the Decalogue. This will take you to his recipe for the Toltec path to freedom, freedom in self knowledge. Sounds very much like Alexandrine theology of salvation in knowledge of self and Lord, forgive thyself, love your kin, to acknowledge the love the Lord your sustainerliberates you with.
Rating: Summary: Simple and wise advice Review: I read this book last weekend and really enjoyed it. I am already doing my best (I read Optimal Thinking; How to be your best self three months ago and it showed me how to be my best in any situation) and this book reinforced my commitment. These two books are the best self help books you can read.

Rating: Summary: What my German grandmother told me... Review: Looks like all grandparents have good advise. Do I need a Toltec grandmother? Or grandfather? I don't think so. Is the socialization process in early life harmful? Perhaps. Would it be more harmful if there was no education? What do you think? Did my German grandmother want me to watch what I say? Of course: "Always be truthful," she said, "lies have short legs." Not bad for a German grandmother! Should I take it personal if I get critized? That depends. This author will not take it personally that his book rambles on with repeat simple truths glamorized as "Toltec ancient wisdom". The writing in this book is kindergarten-style, all that's missing is some stick-figure art.
Rating: Summary: GREAT PERSPECTIVE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE Review: I'm writing this review because I was surprised that there were any negative responses to it. It may be simple but, it is by far and away very powerful in it's message. If you take these simple principles to light you can truly amazing results in your life. I guess (just as the book explains) it is all about your perspective.
Rating: Summary: Keep the four agreements Review: This nicely written book offers four useful strategies to deal with life. It is easy to read, worth the time, and helped me to change some parts of my life. After reading The Four Agreements, I came across a book by Dr. Rosalene Glickman called Optimal Thinking-How to be your best self. Optimal Thinking is the best self-help book I have read. If you want to learn how to be your best, bring out the best in others and make the most of every issue in your life, you have to use Optimal Thinking. I am making the most of my life now.
Rating: Summary: Not making assumptions Review: By implementing the four agreements into my daily life I have been transformed. I took back my power by being able to 'see' other peoples parasite when it was exposed to me. I have been handling every situation in my life now with one of the agreements. I also recommend reading Rat Race Relaxer: Your Potential & The Maze of Life by JoAnna Carey.
