Summary: The Four Agreements : A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom
Review: The four agreements are indeed important and simple. I found the delivery to be tedious. I would not recommend this book.

Summary: Deep and different perspective
Review: Miguel Ruiz explains the Toltec way in a gentle and earthy way that makes these agreements easy to grasp and seem actually attainable. I feel lighter having read this book -- I am especially attracted to the agreement "Do not take things personally" -- so much of life's pain comes from personalizing others' behaviors that don't go along with our expectations. His writing style is gentle and compassionate -- a quick and very pleasant read. Thanks to Miguel and the Toltecs for sharing their strength and knowledge.

Another wonderful book I recommend is "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work" by Ariel and Shya Kane. Their "Principles of Transformation" have really opened my eyes to how life really works and have made life so much easier. I have experienced miraculous things since reading this book!

Summary: "Heaven on Earth"
Review: This is a Toltec (Mexican Indian) philosophy book. The four agreements are: 1. Be Impeccable with Your word. 2. Don't Take Anything Personally. 3. Don't Make Assumptions. 4. Always Do Your Best. It teaches you the wisdom of freedom and happiness. You can be free and happy, and reach the Earthly Heaven if you want. Four words to remember: Assumption (don't), Best (do), Impeccable (be), and Personally (don't), or just "ABIP". The message is simple, easy and practical. I recommended this book to my staff when they feel upset, and wrote "ABIP" and these four words on my desk.

Summary: Toltec Wisdom is universal Wisdom
Review: This book touches the core of a person because you already know the truth that you are reading. It is very easy to read and you find yourself beginning to pull forth the four agreements that are buried deep within you almost immediately. Changing your way of being is a deep subject, but the way the book is written, you believe that the change will be as easy as falling off a log. In this book, Miguel Ruiz is extremely adept at conversing with you as you read. I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE.

Summary: How simple can it get?
Review: This is the simplest book I have come across on the most profound subject I know. This book wins my personal book of the year award for 2000 hands down. Chancing upon this book was something I'll be thankful for. If you are wondering whether to buy it, take it from me, just buy it, read it and keep it.

Summary: The Most Important Truths in Life are the Simple Ones
Review: A short but powerful book that deserves far more attention than its size might imply. While the truths might seem obvious, knowing them is only half the battle - implementing them is the second, tougher half. Once one learns to not take things personally, suddenly many of life's annoyances fall by the wayside as so much irrelevancy. And it is in the application that the book's small size becomes an asset, as one can reread the relevant passages over and over until it sinks in and becomes a new outlook on life. The key is not to just do what it says, but FEEL what it says, and this book helps you do that.

Summary: Good advise in plain english for any walk of life.
Review: This book gives you a fresh new way to looking at life and the obsticles way come your way. This book makes sense no matter what religion or background you may come from. It explains in plain english why you should try to make these four new agreements in your life and try to resolve previous ones that may be holding you back in life.

Summary: A Small Gem
Review: One might think such a small book would be a quick read. Not this one. No other book has evoked more emotions or more memories of like-scenarios in which I played a part.

I do not recommend you read this without tissues. I carry it with me and have found that even when I do not attempt to apply the principles, I inadvertently do. I now stop and think before I speak, in all occasions. It has changed my life immeasurably, and I can not say that about any other book I've read.

Summary: What a world it world be, if everyone read this.
Review: During a dinner party of mine a friend asked for a book to read while he was..ahem...going to be on the john. I grabbed this one intentionally. When he came out, he began to share the insights he had gleaned from it with the rest of the gathering. We each discussed which of the agreements was our strongest and which was our weakest, and why. I've never quite had a group conversation like that, but it was energizing.

Few books have the impact this one does. The keys to eliminating needless suffering and cultivating a life of peace, love and joy are here. Some of life's simplest, most universal and most significant truths are contained within it. Please read it, then give it to a friend, then another and don't stop. Then read his other book <Mastery of Love>, as it is as (or more) amazing than this one. Both have already made the rounds among my friends and coworkers, and I will be singing their praises for a long time.

Summary: Very interesting; seeded with pearls of wisdom
Review: While over the last couple of years several books with great pearls of wisdom have been published, this one has a completely different approach and once again makes it a valuable guide for life. It's something you want to read, then ponder this thought and that profound principle as it will have a positive impact upon your life, if such wisdom is seriously considered. Among the other treasures of wisdom with substantial content and important lessons for life, books you simply don't want to miss are "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom and "I Love Me: Avoiding & Overcoming Depression" by Dietmar Scherf.
