Summary: A legendary book
Review: Though I have to admit that this book may not be one of my favorites, it's standing as one of the top 10 selling business books of all-time during its 70 year existence speaks for itself. The books contains the "formula" or what you might call "laws" for success in anything. The books itself has an overall message and that is: " How you think about a situation is the key to your success". That by using your imagination, you can think of ways to better your life, improve your thinking and so forth. In short: it's mind over matter. That is essentially what this book is about. But it is a good book. The only flaw that this books really has is that it does not work on the self-image, the art of changing yourself, which I believe is critical to success. Still, the advice and teachings of this book are invaluable. Don't get me wrong, this book is great and with a little fine tuning would
truly be the greatest of all-time.

Summary: This book DOUBLED my income!
Review: This is it. This is the one that everyone points to as being the "classic" for how to create the income you want. Is it true? Yes. It's been proven too many times by too many people to be a coincidence. In my own life, I bought a copy at the recommendation of a doctor. I read the entire book and didn't "get it". Not to be deterred, I started over again. When "the secret" hit me, it was like walking into a dark room and turning on the light. Within 90 days, I'd quit my job and had my own business and within six months I'd doubled my income. Yes, it works. The manner of writing is a bit antiquated which is to be expected from a manuscript from the early 20th century. There are other books that I could recommend for similiar information and would be glad to if you'd like to email me - however, it would serve no purpose here in THIS review. Bottom line: get this book.

Summary: READ THIS BOOK ONLY IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT SUCCESS
Review: I have personally read many books about building personal wealth. My area of specialty is real estate so building personal wealth goes hand in hand here. There are only two books I personally recommend to everyone:(No one is not the Bible) "How To Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie and "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Everything we do everyday involves people (approximately 85%) so the first book (by Dale Caregie) will teach you how to deal with people effectively and consistantly. "Think and Grow Rich" is the book directly inspired by the world's first Billionaire, Andrew Carnegie, the steele magnate, that defines the principles that must be utilized for anyone to achieve tremendous success in their life. Mr. Carnegie commissioned young Napoleon to write this work for twenty years and did not pay him one penny to do it. Napoleon had to apply what he was writing about to earn his way in life, and he became a very wealthy man in the process. We as Americans very often define success in money; "Think and Grow Rich" defines success in principle and how real success is really acheived, in life.

Summary: If you want to read "Make money" books, start with this one!
Review: Once I heard a motivational speaker say that more millionaires credit their financial success to "Think and Grow Rich" more than any other book. This is a classic in the genre of "making money" books.

The biggest thing the book teaches is to have a "money mindset." There are thirteen principles that will lead you to making money. Plain and simple. Follow these principles to the letter, and you will start to see your financial life change.

There isn't much to say about this book that hasn't already been said on this review site...Napoleon Hill was a true genius.
If you've never read this book, you owe it to yourself to read it now.

Summary: A Great Book
Review: Unfortunately for me, I avoided this book because of its title. It wasn't until I had read through almost all of the other top-rated books on the same subject that I finally gave in and ordered a paperback copy of Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich". In retrospect, I should have saved myself some money and bought the hardcover edition from the get-go, since this is a book that I will keep, reference and lend out frequently. This is a definite must have!

The text is simple, concise, straight forward, comprehensive and insightful... and though it was originally published in the 30's, it is hauntingly timeless. It is, in my opinion, the Grandfather of books of this genre.

Summary: Not all it's cracked up to be
Review: I read this book because in all the investment and self motivational books I've read it's been recommended. What I found were a lot of outdated examples from Eddison, and Ford. The title says it all. If you think and believe you'll grow rich, you will. There I just saved you from having to order this book.
I do however reccommend the rich dad poor dad series I preferred that and was far more motivated.

Summary: Power of the Mind
Review: Written during the great depression era, advises the reader on how to focus one's attention on a dream and make it a reality.

Can be read many times and is still interesting and motivational. This book is very pro-active and also includes some interesting historical perspectives.

Politically correct thinkers should beware that this book was written in a different generation but the messages and ideas transcend generations and time in my opinion.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A classic to say the least...
Review: There's a funny thing about self-help books, one always contradicts the other and new revealings always disprove old theories. Such is the case with Think and Grow Rich.

For example, Mr.Hill stresses the importance of using will-power and the right thoughts to conquer our goals. Whereas Maxwell Maltz, author of Psycho-Cybernetics (which has sold a record 33 million copies in 40 years) suggests the use of imagination instead. Maltz, also says that use of will-power causes failure and has scientific proof to back it up.

Also, if this is one of the best selling books of all time, how come there aren't more millionaires around?. But then again how many would we have if we didn't have this book.

In my opinion, this book is more like counselling. You gain insight into your life but your life is no better. It's one of those books bought by business men because it's Joe Coporate's favorite book. And if Joe's reads it then it must be good. It's more likely to end up on the shelf never to be read again. It's not an inspiring read more like a documentary textbook.

But there's still a lot of good info in it and that's why I give it 3 stars. Be sure to get How to win friends and Influence people and Psycho cybernetics for your collection to be complete.

Was this helpful to you?.

Summary: Garbage Basket.
Review: A book can change reader's life- for the better or for the worse. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill falls in the later category. As there is no rating below one star, I have rated the book as *.
By repeatedly reading, as the author advises, the statement of the amount of money desired, deadline for obtaining the money and believing that you actually posses the money, the reader can, at best, become frustrated and caught into hallucination or at worst, can land into in a lunatic asylum. No doubt, subconscious mind is a powerful tool for achievement; but it is only a tool and not the original source of the wealth. Unless one reaches the original source of the wealth, merely using a tool would be an useless exercise.
According to an Indian mythological story, there are two Goddesses- one the Goddess of wisdom and knowledge called Saraswati and another, the Goddess of the wealth and prosperity called Laxmi. When a desciple asked the Guru which Goddess should be worshipped for becoming rich, the Guru said, " Worship Saraswati, the Goddess of the knowledge. By worshiping Saraswati, Laxmi, the Goddess of wealth feels jealous and will chase you more and moe." Repeating 'money, money, money...' umteen nuber of times will make you more and more attached to money which you, then, will surely not get.
Kautilya, the ancient Indian sage has many centuries ago given the four principles of acquiring the wealth.
SAAM (Associatin with the wise and honest people).
DAAM (Sharing your possession with one and all).
DAND ( Always being aware of the fact that God punishes misdeeds). And lastly,
BHED (Penetrating through anything, any person or any situation to know it fully).
There are four Yogas.
Dnyan Yoga (Yoga of knowledge), Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of devotion and service),Karma Yoga (Yoga of action without having even the slighest desire for the fruits thereof) and Raj Yoga (Yoga of awakening the inner power).
By practicing these Yogas, one can achieve a state of mind through which she/he can implement the four principles of Kautilya naturally.
These principles MAY help one to achieve all kinds of wealth including the material wealth.
Silly mental tricks told by Hill will do more harm than good to the reader.
The book is not worth the paper on which it is printed.
And, lastly I would like to know whether Mr. Hill himself has made any money BY FOLLOWING THE PRINCIPLES STATED IN THE BOOK and not by the sale of his book.

Summary: Lloyd
Review: This is the second most important book I have ever read, second only to the Bible. This information is crucial!!! Why this is not taught in the early years of high school (at least), is a mystery to me. I found this book at age 59, too late but hopefully still in time for me to achieve and teach others of this unbelievable concept. I am convinced these principles should be practiced daily. I bought copies of this book for all I care for.
