Rating: Summary: A Sound Philosophy Review: This book is an absolute must for anyone interested in self improvement. It has to be read at least three times before the whole hidden message sinks in but once it does nearly everything can be seen in a different light. I was skepticle when I first got it but repeated readings have convinced me that this man knew what he was talking about. Its message which is largely subtle but very profound is as relevant today as it has ever been. It's worth hearing and knowing; that's the challenge, "knowing it!"
Rating: Summary: Remember when & why it was written Review: The book was written during the depression, a time when peoplewere in very dire straits. It was intended to help people focus onsolutions, to come up with ideas and to tap into a source of inspiration outside of themselves. This, in an effort to help get the economy moving again. The focus was on money, because that is what the people of the day needed, but the author states how the principles could be used in all aspects of one's life. The author also states that if you are not ready and\or looking to make more money or do more with your life, then the secret would evade you. I first read this book in 1980. I was confused as I did not "get" the secret, but found the book had told me something. The book has had a profound impact on my life. It helped me nuture my entrepeneurial spirit, and though I cannot say I have attained any substantial financial success to date, it has given me almost 20 years of comfort and hope, knowing that whatever I set my mind to I can accomplish. Several years ago (1988) I was looking at building a house. I hardly had 2 cents to rub together but that did not stop me in my desires to build a house for my new family. Using the principals taught in this book I managed to; secure financing, teach myself the required carpentry and electrical skills, obtain the neccessary help and constructed a house that, by all who knew the circumstances, could not be built. The house ended up being appraised at over $250,000.00, of which I had well over 50% equity. The principles in the book work, when you are ready to apply them.....read it only if you are ready and willing to work towards that which you are passionate about. It will give you the steps neccessary to succeed. I have a new passion now and have purchased the lastest edition of this book. It has proven to me that it's principals work, and as I read it again, the power of the human mind is more abundantly clear than ever before. An excellent follow up to this book is "Grow Rich With Peace of Mind" Think and GROW........ END
Rating: Summary: The FOUNDATION BOOK to Success Review: This is one of those books you must read, if you are into self development. It is one of the foundation stones upon which to build success. The premise of the book is simple, by thinking and creating ideas, you can build wealth, as everything you buy etc has once been an idea in someone's mind. This book will show you by using real life examples of how to use your mind to the greatest effect possible, to create wealth. The treatise is split into 17 Rules. These 17 Rules are tried and tested so that when they are put together they form a system. By using the system you too can create wealth. Does it work? Without a doubt this philosophy works. I have used this book to create multiple streams of income by thinking strategically about my business. I have increased my personal wealth in the last ten months, faster than I have in the last 5 years. I would suggest that the reader of this book also should purchase the following books. The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D Wattles, Born Rich by Bob Proctor, Physco Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. These books will help overcome the initial scepticism, caused by internal conditioning, ie "Can it really be this simple". Combine these books with the brilliant book by Hill, and I guarantee you will change your financial destiny forever.
Rating: Summary: The Masterpiece that changed my life Review: If all it would take is to read one book to be a success than this is the one I would choose.
Rating: Summary: Still the best Review: So many personal development books have been written, this is the best.I really can't understand the negative reviews. How can you attack strategies that have created millionaires?I now have my own business thanks to techniques learned and most importantly applied from Think & Grow Rich.I used to work in Real Estate Sales and then in a management position for a bank. All of the most successful people I have ever met gave credit to Think & Grow Rich for at least laying the foundation for their success.I also recomment Financial Self Defense and More Wealth without Risk by Charles Givens. These books are to personal finance what Think & Grow Rich is to personal development.

Rating: Summary: A must have classic! Review: Let's face it - if you are looking to get rich right away without any effort, this book is not for you. This book does, however, gives you the blueprint for success and it stresses DETERMINATION and CLEAR GOALS. It also gives you a lot of useful exercises to encourage you to keep working towards your goals. These exercises also help you to stay positive. A lot of authors who also write books on motivation openly admit that they too have read this classic. This book will help you achieve success if you are determined to put in the efforts. Enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: A Blueprint for Success Review: Napolean Hill gives us the bluprint for turning every negitive experience or situation in our lives into a positive one. His information is practical and his examples are wonderful. If used properly his formula can be your guide to becoming sucessful in both your personal and business endevors.
Rating: Summary: Extremely disappointing Review: This book is simply pathetic. The message of the author is that you can achieve whatever you want by simply willing it and it supports this by describing examples of people who achieved something in their life with a positive mental attitude. I got nothing from it, I would have been much better off reading biographies or a book on financial investing. This is the first book that I have thrown away in 35 years.
Rating: Summary: Great stories and exact steps Review: Zig Ziglar once said that motivation isn't permanent. He was right. Motivation will wear off just like spraying yourself with cologne will eventually wear off. You need constant fixes of motivation. But, even that is not enough. Using motivation without a goal and a plan is like spraying yourself with cologne without having a date. You won't accomplish too much. Think of Hills "Think And Grow Rich" as your cologne, but as an added bonus, he's lined up a date for you also. In the cologne (the book :-) Hill gives you the address of your date - and she's your perfect match. You just have to get out a map (Hill tells you where to get it) and get to her house. The author is brilliant in the way he provides all of the information necessary to patterning out your goals with exact plans on how to achieve them. You'll learn how to prepare a statement that describes exactly what you want to achieve along with two important factors - when and how. If you read this book and don't avhieve what you want in life, it can be summed up in this short analogy... Imagine going to Macy's and just buying any bottle of cologne at the counter. You may hate the smell when you get home. You like a mild cologne and this one is very strong. Get it? If not, you REALLY need this book. If you do get it, you are ready for this book. Good luck to you regardless of what side of the fence you are on.
