Rating: Summary: This is only the beginning Review: I have been struggling with my weight for the last 5 years. I am 49 and do not want to turn 50 and fat. I want to be 50 and fit. I went to a naturepath to help me with one problem but decided my weight was another problem and asked for her help. She recommended the 4 blood type solution book to me and I immediately called my doctor to see what blood type I was. I am A positive. I borrowed a copy from the nearest health food store but plan to buy my own copy tomorrow. What I rad in short was very interesting. So, I will report back my progress. What I did notice at a glance was that 5 years ago when I started this weight gain of 15 extra lbs., it was that certain foods and drinks had changed, to the ones I shouldn't consume as an A+. I started eating way more red meat, switched over from white wine to red wine. Other things too, but those stand out. I will report back in a few weeks as to my progress. My naturepath is very highly respected in our area. See what happens! The struggle with my weight has actualy been ongoing for most of my life. If this answers it I will be one happy woman/
Rating: Summary: What about multiple blood-type families? Review: My mother-in-law lives with us. She's type AB. My husband and kids are type A. My father & mother visit frequently. They are A & O. I am O. How am I supposed to plan meals that can encompass all of our food needs for our blood types. This is a bit unrealistic.
Rating: Summary: Explanation Review: I need an explanation about the implication if someone with B blood type consumes lamb as recomended in the book while he is sufferring high blood pressure.
Rating: Summary: I have some questions, does anybody have answers? Review: I liked the book. The content and recommendations make sense to me. I like that the author refers to his lab work. Is there a web-site or does the author have an on-line connection? Thank you.
Rating: Summary: I thought it was baloney..till it cleared up my psoriasis. Review: My wife followed the diet for a while, though I was quite skeptical. Her very painful periods (lifelong endometriosis) have never been milder. That convinced me to try it. I've had psoriasis almost my entire life. Tried PUVA, even chemotherapy. Each worked for a while. I followed the type A diet for 4 months and am surprised and happy to say that my condition is 99% better, and I lost a few pounds as well. Is it hard? No, you just have to have a good reason to be disciplined. I did, and it worked for me. Thank you Dr. d'Adamo.
Rating: Summary: Doesn't work as a cassette for refering to your type later. Review: I didn't like it in this format because this is a book that you need to refer to often after you read it. Because it is on cassette, you can't just open it to the list of do's and don'ts for type O. You need to listen to the entire tape to get the information and there is no way to highlight the information you will need later.
Rating: Summary: Absolute garbage Review: This book does not appear to be based on any sort of science whatsoever. If so, where are the independent studies? The author's just after a buck. My coworker showed me this book and I just laughed.
Rating: Summary: Too Restrictive Review: The diets are too restrictive so it's easy to fall off the wagon. Also, to follow the diets "correctly" you are enticed into buying ER4YT products like supplements & the cookbook. I've tried to follow the guidlines as closely as possible for the last 2 months but I have not yet felt the benefits promised like greater energy and weight loss.
Rating: Summary: Right on the mark! Review: My Dr. recommended this book to me as I had a lot of problems with food intolerances and excess mucas build up in my system. My stomache hurt every time I ate or drank anything! I immediately bought the book and was totally amazed when I read about my Blood type, A, and noticed the foods that had always caused me problems were listed in the "Avoid" list! I started eating the beneficial and neutral foods and have had a complete turnaround in my health! Now if I am away from home and eat a food on the "Avoid" list I pay for it with a painful gut, no energy and increased mucas. My body knows what it needs and I thank Dr. D'Adamo for putting this information out there!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: A friend told me about this book. I could not wait for my copy to arrive. I am on my second reading at this time. I have not converted over to a total veggie diet yet. (type A) My family was strictly meat and potatoes! The only warning is if you buy this book thinking that somehow a "Whopper" is going to be good for you, you might as well forget it. The food on the beneficial lists are "natural". (ie orgaincally grown beef for type O's)
