Although himself he is not thin of stature, advice is from him like on the TV about how to lead a live where you do the thing that is smart and avoid harmful activities. Dr. Phil is the best at telling you how tomorrow can be better than before tomorrow, and with your diet he is no exception. Get this book now!!!!

Looking at the truth of my weight, my negative attitude, and my critical self-talk are issues that you touched on in this article. Getting real with myself means taking responsibility for my over all well-being. I ordered the book and plan to start applying the principles from this article today. I am going to set a realistic weight goal for myself. I am going to take responsibility for my health. Rating: Summary: Picture of Health?? Review: This book is clearly a play for the almighty dollar. Dr. Phil should be ashamed of his blatant leverage of his " Oprah blessing ". On the day that the book came out my local Sam's Club had pallets of his diet foods ready for the masses that so diligently tune in to Oprah and Dr. Phil. The diet is not the worst to hit the market but it certainly didn't earn it's sales ranking as the South Beach Diet or the Atkins Diet have.Doctor Phil asks if us if we are " apples or pears ". Dr. Phil should have looked closer at what fruit he represents and gone to the gym for a year before posing for the cover of this book.

Rating: Summary: Dangerous Review: If you can buy the premise that you should take diet advice from the heavy guy, that's fine, but you should always question the quality of the advice. This book is dangerous in its lack of emphasis on exercise. If you don't exercise, a diet won't work. Another even more serious problem with this book is the failure to encourage people to educate themselves about medical conditions that can lead to weight gain and weight loss such as hormone imbalances or true thyroid problems which should be corrected before launching into a diet or exercise program. The lack of science in this book can be very dangerous. Perhaps Dr. Phil should consider going back to school to get an M.D. and stop practicing pseudo medicine.

Review: I have been following this book since September and I have to say that while the change in my appearance is apparent (to almost everyone I know and myself), more people have commented on how much more content I seem. I am the kind of person that is always stressing out on a diet but lately I don't feel like I am on a diet at all, and I don't act like it according to my family, but I am. I am on the best nutrition plan out there...the healthy mind kind. Dr. Phil does not promise a whole new you in 24 hours, and I appreciate how honest he is about not only how you will not immediately lose everything but also that you may not make it on the first try. but that is ok because you have an infinite amount of chances as long as you are willing to take them. this is a life change, not a diet and you will fail sometimes- most certainly if you think that it is a "diet". I think any body reading this book and looking for a specialized food diet like Atkin's or South Beach will be disappointed because that is not what Dr. Phil is about. He does not tell you exactly what to eat because he has the confidence that you probably already know what you "truly" should be eating- healthy food. He does help you out with lists and I heard that he is coming out with a food guide, but for the most part the book is more about why we eat and how to stop eating what we already know is "bad". it is about learning how to read yourself and your body before stuffing your face. it even helps to eleviate the problems both mental or physical that come with being genetically not able to lose weight. there is an acytion plan for that as well. In the end though it was the flexibility and almost complete lack of an exact food plan (every meal picked out for you so that you find yourself thinking about food 24/7 is not a healthy way to live). And I don't care what anyone says, it is near impossible to stay to a plan like South beach, Atkins, etc. for the rest of your life. it is hard enough trying to stay on any food plan (even one you make up). For this reason I would recommend The Ultimate Weight Solution, but only if you are truly ready to make a change that "is" be possible to follow for the rest of your life because it allows for human nature and thinks of you not as a mouth but as a whole person with heart, mind, body and soul. The Ultimate Weight Solution talks to you as a person which makes people think that it is not as good as other diet books, or isn't really a diet book because it talks to the heart, not the mouth. I would recommend this book for anyone who is ready to stopped being talked at and ready to take a partcipating role in the fight for health and fitness.
Rating: Summary: Right in Time for the Holidays!! Review: It's almost as if you need reserves of willpower to make it through the holidays- and the amount of food that travels through your kitchen. (I am a chronic baker during the holidays.) This year I have help. Falling off the wagon this year and allowing myself to emotionally eat through pies, turkey, yams, stuffing, cookies, etc. is simply not going to happen. With the first round of in-laws in now I have already been put to the test. The guidance and help I have found in Dr. Phil's The Ultimate Weight Solution has given me reasons I want to eat and eat and eat (even after I am satisfied) and the reasoning to stop before I go right back to where I started before the holidays. It has nothing to do with willpower, just like Dr. Phil says.
