Summary: The best weight loss book of the year!!!
Review: I was fortunate enough to recieve an advanced copy of "The Ultimate Weight Solution" and all I can say is that Dr. Phil has never disappointed me, but this time he raised the bar to even greater levels. There is not a clearer voice out there today than Dr. Phil's. I read "The Ultimate Weight Solution" in just two days, but I have referred to it and reread parts of it every day since. This is not a book to collect dust on your shelf, because it is the greatest companion, and motivator anyone could have while trying to do one of the hardest things in their life- changing their thinking to change their weight and ultimately their lives.
Dr. Phil used his years of experience with obese patients and his amazing plethora of knowledge of human behavior to create seven steps that allow the reader to stay focused and motivated. There are also life stories from former patients, close friends, and others that will show you that you are not alone and that many have made this journey before you while other will be doing it with you. If you want to change your health and your life forever- pick up this book.

Summary: There's no getting around common sense
Review: If you're a Dr. Phil fan, you already know what this book delivers: sound, practical, no nonsense advice. There's no quick fix, or magic formula here. But there is plenty of guidance and motivation if you are ready to do the work. Dr. Phil outlines a step by step plan of action, and all you have to do is stick with it, but, as he promises, "it won't be easy". This book isn't so much one you read in one sitting, but rather-- one you study over time, it's a WORKbook. To lose weight, the bottom line is, you HAVE to make serious lifestyle changes. Dr. Phil tells you how in his signiture style, but if you aren't ready to do some serious, difficult work, save your money for a bag of chips.

Summary: Changed my life!!!!
Review: Most people think I'm crazy when I tell them that this book has changed my life, but it has. My eating habits have completely changed and I'm not even finished reading the book. I have lost 6 pounds in about 2 weeks. The book doesn't make you lose weight. It's the information inside that gives you the tools to lose the weight. I strongly suggest that anyone buy it. I bought it at a store full price and was a little leary of spending the money, but it was WELL WORTH IT!

Summary: He's good at stating the obvious. That's about it.
Review: Why is Dr. Phil popular? Because he tells people what they already know. He just throws a few "I'm a good ol' down-to-earth no-nonsense Texan" sayings into the mix.
I bought this book because I was a huge fan of Dr. Phil. I watched his show, bought his "Relationship Rescue" and his Food Guide, and I was ready to overhaul my life just like he said. I started into the book, made goals and worked hard, and followed his food guide implicitly. He said I wouldn't be hungry. I was. He said the plan wouldn't be restrictive. It was. After the first days of excitement were over, I was miserable.
This book is all about telling you to work hard at losing weight, which I am all for. But then he tells you it's not about will power. Of course it is! It's not only about will power, but you do have to have some self-control in order to reach your goals.
This book is a paradoxical mixture of in-your-face drill sargent with telling 'em what they wanna hear.
Let's just say that the more I see Dr. Phil's milk-mustached face on billboards and watch his appearances on the likes of "Extreme Makeover", the more I start to doubt his sincerity about helping people and suspect him of milking his popularity for every penny he can.

Summary: Are you kidding????!!
Review: Hey Dr Philly, show me your 6 pack abs and then maybe this book might be a relevant addition amongst the abundance of fad diet literature that is piling up on the coffee tables of the same overweight sexually neglected housewives that you persuade while they watch your daytime show while holding on to a bucket of Haagen-Daas. By the way, the jacket does cover up or deter from the laughable physique of a wanna-be diet guru.
2 stars for brilliant marketing!

Summary: Why, just look at how well it's worked for Dr. Obese!
Review: Haha, I can't stand this guy, so I'm already biased, but after Al Roker was tired of being daytime television's favorite fat laughingstock, Dr. Phil was quick to jockey for the position! Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure this is a dieting book written by the fattest man on daytime television. God bless Oprah's razor sharp litterally instincts to hammer off another winner! I can't wait until next month, where she endorses Michael Jackson's book: 7 key ways to not molest children. 3 cheers for hipocrisy!

Summary: Why would anyone take weight loss tips from a chubby guy?
Review: Why would anyone take weight loss tips from a chubby guy?

I really don't get it.

But Dr. Phil is smart, he knows people will buy ANY book he writes.

Summary: This book is great...
Review: Dr Phil's book helped me change my "lifestyle"...I would recommend to anyone who is sick of trying the "fad" diets.

After reading this book I grasped a new outlook on life and the decisions I was making. I lost 50 pounds and am happier than ever!!

Summary: I'm so greatfull that I finally got this book!
Review: I watched the Dr. Phill special about a year ago to kick off this book. I was unimpressed. Still, I thought I might buy the book any way, after all I have read every other diet book in the world, but when I thumbed through the pages, I thought "I don't want to do all this introspection, I just want to loose weight" so I went to Jenny Craig and promptly lost 20 of my 50 lbs. wich I do at least yearly-(plus about $2,000) I was very pleased with my self. Until stress began to build up in my life again, then I gained back my 20...Like I always do. last week I was ready to do something different. I have only read up to the second key, but already I have figured out some things about myself that I have been trying to understand for 40 years. It was such a relief to get my life back and start working on the person I know I can be! The most important thing I have fixed is my relationship with my family and friends. I know I have heard all these things before, but for some reason, this time it clicked. Maybe it was the sequence, the timing, or just his down to earth words that hit me, but it really worked. If I don't loose a single pound, It will still be worth it-but I know I will because I don't need the extra food anymore. And Dr. Phil is not fat, he looks like a football player. Maybe his large...bald.. head makes him look bigger than people think he should be. Thanks Dr. Phill!!!

Summary: Someone has to say it
Review: OK, I am giving this book 3 stars because it does have sensible and helpful weight control advice. However, I find photographs of the not-exactly-Adonis-like Dr. Phil on the cover of the book to be uninspiring. Actually, I find them to be a total turn-off. Dr. Phil may be reasonably slender himself, but I want my weight loss gurus to be gods among men, just like my lovers.
