Summary: I was gonna buy this book myself, but...
Review: I was gonna buy this book myself, but...I was waiting for someone else to buy it for me. Nobody did. I couldn't believe it! And I'm such a nice guy. Then, one of my co-workers, who is always running around looking for the latest and greatest self-improvement book, bought one for himself. He got a promotion. Then, another co-worker, who likes to anticipate what everyone else should be reading, bought one too. He left the company and got that job he always wanted. So, I hopped in my car and drove around town (left turn, right turn, left turn) until I found a bookstore and bought one for myself. Now, I'm ready for that layoff!!!

Summary: Wierd title, but interesting book
Review: I read this while we were on vacation. Nice and relaxed, so I thought I would give this book a go thru. At first, " Cheese" what does this mean??? Well, like the books says, it can mean anything you want it to. Each quote, in the book was a different situation and fits to several different things going on in my life. Some huge some just trivial things. I also found myself alot like some of the characters, Hem- who doesn't want to do anything except complain about it!!! Haw- who goes after it and tries to look for it, again and again. The two mice who just go from the beginning and look for it with no regard to Hem and Haw. I do encourage anyone to read this- and don't think of it as Cheese.....it can be any situation or problem you have in your life.

Summary: Who Cares Aout Your Cheese!
Review: This entire book can be summed up in one sentence: "Nothing is static, so deal with it or suffer the consiquences." This is yet another simplistic self-help book that trivializes a complex human trait and reduces it to an absurd stereo-type.

Summary: moving the holes
Review: Every CEO should consider moving the holes in the cheese. This will not ony allow a way to look differently at older people (cheese) but might actually stimulate doable brain activity in the upper level (CEOs). Don't let anyone move your cheese - ask them to step back and look at the holes in an amazing way. Before I check out, another book for CEOs and for anyone who thinks their cheese might be too small or might be moved. Or, for a sudden shock in havng to uproot your family and move for a new job, read how to help your family (who is your real cheese)with motivation in everything from moving, time, parenting, money, grades and even time for yourself, read Mommy-CEO (Constantly Evaluating Others) 5 Golden Rules, by Jodie Lynn who thinks all moms are working moms and The Road Less Traveled by Scott M. Peck. They will both help in trading off challenges in parenting, time for uno and life in general - and of course in business. Why read these books in connection to the business world you might want to ask yourself............why not when it is your family who will be the one who will support you during layoffs, getting fired or moving across the country. Besides, if their feelings are taken into consideration, the whole mess will blend into some what of a balance. It might even turn out to be a good experience in the long run. Running a business is very similar to running a family and vice versa...........but I'm sure you big cheese guys already knew that.

Summary: Here's why,
Review: I did enjoy this book, besides using imagination and experience, the author needs to back up with stonger real life evidence. I read Karl Maddox SB: 1 or God which carries a similar tune but more on line with real life and supported, also has a story line. Who moved my cheese could use a bit more story per se to entertain the reader. The message is here but could be conveyed a bit more entertianing.

Summary: Who Moved My Brain?
Review: There are 4 characters in the first part of this book, the first two are mindless rodents and the second two are "little people." All 4 characters spend their lives hunting cheese in a maze. The characters that are set forth to be imitated are the mindless rodents. If you still don't get the picture than you probably belong in a maze chasing cheese that someone else keeps moving and would probably enjoy this book. Motorola loved to place signs around about "Change is Good" just before they closed their paging infrastructure plant and sold it to the competition. The last company I was with encouraged everyone to read this book just before they had a mass layoff. If your company starts passing out this book, "sniff out change" and update your resume.

Summary: Change isn't easy...
Review: After reading some of the reviews about this book, I wondered if they even got past the first few pages of "Who Moved the Cheese." This book is not a cure-all for people in the workplace. Instead, it is a guideline for leaders who find themselves in a changing situation and are either unwilling to move are are unsure of what to do.

"Who Moved the Cheese" essentially paints a picture of four characters -- two mice who move quickly, and two "little people" who would rather wait for more cheese to arrive than to venture out on their own and find the cheese for themselves. We don't see much of the mice again, but are left instead with the story of the people, who write an account of their plight on the walls around them. In business -- as well as in every other area of life -- we are challenged by changing times and circumstances. We each also have options -- such as staying on the course that we've been on and hoping circumstances improve. Often, people in these situations end up complaining that their businesses "were ruined" by an unhealthy climate and that it "wasn't their fault." We also have the option to watch the changing times for opportunities to change our circumstances and improve our chances of success (with no excuses).

Again, "Who Moved the Cheese" is not a solution for every situation. It is, however, a motivation treatise which will encourage you to look for new and improved ways to stay successful in a world bent on endless change.

Summary: A Fable to live by
Review: Fairytales do come true. This is a very clever and simple story about mice who ultimately find the cheese. But on the metaphor-meter, it's a story about learning to notice change, accepting it, and adapting to change. Why? Because you'll lower your blood pressure, you'll get your "cheese" and eat it, too. I read this book in an hour. And, my mind has changed in how I'm approaching change. Buy this book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Encourage people to take control of their own lives
Review: This book is a simple way of helping people understand that change is going to happen, and it's up to them to decide how they will handle it. It doesn't necessarily give practical advice on how to handle any real world situations, it simply explains that we all have choices, no matter how out of control we may feel. Reading this in a group can help facilitate discussion about change in general, and communication is the key in the workplace when dealing with uncertanties. As the previous reviewer said, it's for the heart, but I do think it's also for the mind...for the attitude, and we all have control over our attitudes.
