Rating: Summary: Week 1 of Phase I...Already dropped 7 pounds Review: I have tried the Protein Power program and lost 12 pounds but really didn't find it easy to maintain the eating habits or the lifestyle change. Also tried the Atkins diet for a while but couldn't really stick with it. I did lose weight, but again, couldn't sustain the eating habits nor make long-lasting lifestyles changes. Enter the South Beach Diet... My wife and I have read the book and started the program. We are nearing the end of Week 1 of Phase I...she has lost 8.5 pounds and feels great...I have lost 7 pounds. We're both impressed at how easily the weight is dropping off and neither of us is starving. The rapid drop in carohydrate consumption is a challenge but getting through the first two weeks will likely break the dependency. We're both quite excited with the results and look forward to making lasting changes with the South Beach Diet long-term. Highly recommended!

Some people with weight problems just get lipo like this slothful reviewer named Rich Jameson. If you can't beat em join em, right? Well, I say wrong. The best things in life are worth fighting for - including your health. And now I feel like I can control my weight problems - thanks to Dr. Agatston. The aqua cover is soothing for my migraines and bipolar disorder.As Dr. Agatston says, the proof is in the pudding - pardon the pun! In order to get the love of how good you look, you need to feel the love from Dr. Agatston. It all starts with self-perception - and finding your own inner strength and making it work for you. Of course, I went with the CD version for my ride because I'm awfully busy with my cartoon editing. I'll take hard work and a little common sense from Dr. Agatston over the pitiful shortcut of lipo from Dr. Van Velvo anyday! I'm at 239 and have lost 47lbs. - with no lipo! And that's a memo.

My husband was so impressed with my lack of "crabbiness" with this diet that he is doing it too! I have lost 8 pounds in 10 days and love it!! Hubby just started and has already lost 3. I definitely would recommend this book to people who want to lose weight without starving and deprivation! NO shakes, pills, point counting. It really is great and it works!!
Rating: Summary: ... Review: I bought this book for my wife. She didn't get thin. She got fatter. You had to buy all kinds of weirdo food and measure stuff. It was ridiculous. You should stick with Atkins or just go on a cottage cheese diet.
Rating: Summary: This works! Review: I can only tell you my personal experience with this diet and you can take it from there. I have tried several diets and they never worked because you couldn't stay on them long plus I stayed hungry all the time. I counted calories and exercised for two years and only lost 20 pounds and then stopped losing for months. With this diet, I have lost 27 pounds in 6 weeks and am still losing. The best part is that I can see myself doing this the rest of my life. The first few days is a little hard but you get excited because you will be amazed at how little you get hungry. I ate three large meals a day plus two snacks. I definitely had plenty to eat. Best part is that although I occasionaly have dessert, I don't crave them! And like the book says - I lost weight in my belly first (I am a forty-plus year old woman). It might not work for everyone - no diet does but this one is healthy and worked for me. It's worth a shot if nothing else has worked for you - trust me!
Rating: Summary: Finally, the right diet Review: I have been fat since I got married. None of the diets worked. My husband bought me an exercise bicycle, but that was too hard and he said the noise sounded like a big hamster. Now this diet has allowed me to lose over a hundred pounds in less than three months. I especially liked the chapters on laxatives, emetics, and the musical mud-wading. It is very easy to read. You can read it while you watch TV. Thank God for Dr. Agatston.
