Rating: Summary: A Great Bathroom Reader Review: After hearing about this book on the radio, I ordered it from Amazon and enjoyed the heck out of it from the first page to the last. It's the kind of book that you can pick up anytime, turn to any page and find some kind of short, entertaining tidbit, from the mildly amusing to the 'oh-my-goodness-I-can't-believe-that's-true' factoid. While it's never graphic or uses course language, it's not what you'd want to get for your Amish friends or overly prudish relatives. But if you're comfortable reading Maxim or Cosmo, than this is the perfect book for you.
Rating: Summary: Humorous sex with a deadpan face. Review: Any book with the word "Useless" in the title can hardly be criticized for content. But this is actually a surprisingly tasteful dip into what the human race has been doing in and out of bed since the year dot. Chapter titles such as The Unkindest Cut Of All, Animal Lust and Sexual Healing say it all. How the author actually knows that reproductive women have sex three thousand times on average in their life or that Casanova ate fifty oysters for breakfast is not made clear. However, Cosmopolitan magazine is mentioned as a source more than once. There are many memorable one liners here. When Gore Vidal was asked if the first person he had sex with was male or female, he apparently replied that he had been too polite to ask. If other people's sex lives interest you, and they do tend to be more interesting than yours, you are in for a sensational read.

Rating: Summary: Fun facts, but where are the citations? Review: I love trivia books like this, and I enjoyed reading about all the little-known sexual facts out there. Especially intriguing is the section on what is still considered a crime in the United States. Who'd have guessed, for example, that in San Francisco, of all places, it's illegal to give and receive oral sex? That said, though, what the book painfully lacked was citations. Where did the author get all these facts? A list of sources at the end would have sufficed for this type of book. I have no doubt that at least most of this is true, but without references, the author, unfortunately, lacks credibility.
Rating: Summary: Some interesting, some just creepy Review: Read all of the facts in this book. Some of them will make you laugh out loud. Others ... will really make you think. A great book - lots of good trivia questions!
Rating: Summary: The leader in a VERY small field Review: The world of sex trivia books is small - at best. "Useless Sexual Trivia" is the most comprehensive of the bunch. This is a well-organized, funny list of some of the most unusual, bizarre and just plain creepy sexual practices and habits in the world. We publish a sex trivia newsletter, and for us, this is an indispensable reference work.

Rating: Summary: Wildly Amusing Review: This book is an interesting read. The chapters "Sex in History" and "Around the World" are especially entertaining. However, the only thing that lends this book credibility is the publisher's reputation.
Rating: Summary: Just the Facts Pt. 2 Review: What a wonderful book. Not only will you learn more than you'd ever need to know, but you can chuckle right along with the author as he puts his 2 cents in. Wanna find out once and for all what the average size of a penis is? Do you have any idea what oculolinctus is? I dare ya to find out. Thank me later!
