Rating: Summary: A truly hysterically funny piece o' work Review: This book made me want to jump into the pages and live next door to the author. I laughed SO hard while reading it, but it didn't stop there. The resplendant memories of SPQBOL's hysterical truisms continue to resurface at the oddest times, making it impossible NOT to laugh. I've bought a bunch of these for girlfriends who are true potato queens and didn't even know it! So...when's the movie comin' out?
Rating: Summary: These Women Need a Life Review: Excuse me.......this is the sorriest book I have ever purchased. I won't even donate it to our local book drive. If this is all that these "ladies" can find to do with their lives, I feel sorry for them and for the men that they "promise" to give "blow jobs"......I hated this book!
Rating: Summary: Laugh Out Loud Funny Review: This book was hilarious from start to finish. I enjoyed it so much that a bunch of us took Jill Conner Browne's invitation to visit Jackson, MS St. Paddy's Day weekend to heart - and hence - became a wannabe wannabe. The stories are funny, the recipes are just plain yummy - but my favorite character was without a doubt, Tammy. I just love that girl! A fun book for a crazy girl friend.
Rating: Summary: Tammy... Review: This is one group of woman that is definitely having the most fun in life! I found myself laughing out loud...and wanting to try some of those fattening recipes! As much as I enjoyed it though, I will not be pursuing the sequel...as there are just too many books and so little time.
Rating: Summary: sweet potatoes rule! Review: As a native Mississippi girl, I must agree with Jill (and Suzanne Sugarbaker) that there is just nothing in this world better than riding in the back of a convertable with a crown on your head! This book had me laughing out loud, and even my husband, who read bits and pieces over my shoulder on an airplane, liked it. From "Writing Your Own Obituary" to "What to Eat When Tragedy Strikes", Jill's advice outlines principles that southern girls have lived by for years...now available to the masses! Though none of us are likely to ever attain full-fledged SPQ status, this "how-to" book gives all the instructions we need to become queens of our own domain.
Rating: Summary: Make people on airplanes give you strange looks! Review: It's true! I read the SPQBOL on an airplane and I laughed out loud so often that people started straining their necks to see where the laughter was coming from. Whether you are young or "somewhere between 40 and death", you have to read this book. The Queens are not only queenly, but they are wonderfully down to earth. Just two final words - Be Particular!
Rating: Summary: Funny, funny, funny!! Review: I laughed out loud and giggled for days after reading. I now know what I will be giving for Christmas to all my girlfriends. Gave it to my Mom for a MUST read. I wanna be a Sweet Potato Queen, but I'll just settle for Queen of my castle. Makes one feel good about growing old but not up.

Rating: Summary: Funniest book I have ever read. Review: Now, I am a bluestocking New England girl, with not much, on the surface, in common with a belle, fallen or not. But this is the funniest book I have ever read. I howled and laughed and cried and identified, and testified, and will not rest until I am on the Wannabe list. Read this book.
Rating: Summary: I laughed 'til I cried!! Review: Another fast summer read!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to try out Miss Tammy's recipes! I wished that I had read this two years ago when it was first published. I think it definitely has changed some of my attitudes! In fact, tomorrow I am going to have breakfast at a new place on indy's westside. (It looks outrageous-colorwise and the fact that there are fake palm trees.) Anyway, it has motorcycle parking. Not that I am into cyclists but it sure can spice up some conversations for the day! Shortly, I will head out to the local "upscale" bookstore to pick up Miss Browne's second book. Yes, I called ahead and they are holding one for me. Meanwhile, on my way home, I will pick up ingredients for the Butterfinger cookie recipe. YUM!!! For laughs and curiosities if you have always played by THE GOOD GIRLS RULES, get a copy of the SWEET POTATO QUEENS-BOOK OF LOVE!!! Enjoy!
