Summary: Great book!
Review: This book was absolutely hilarious. The story about the redheaded guy gave me a side cramp because I was laughing so hard. I've loaned it to several friends who have also enjoyed it. I even went to their website and picked up a pair of rhinestone sunglasses after reading the book. Gave it 4 stars because there were a couple of less than funny sections, and there are a few books out there that still rate about this one (bridget jones, for example).

Review: Jill Conner Brown writes about what most of us southern girls are thinking about. The Sweet Potato Queen's Book of Love is absolutely hilarious! It's almost embarrassing. Laughing so loudly when you're by yourself makes most people wonder what's wrong with you. Maybe I'll see y'all in Jackson this year. And remember to be particular!

Summary: The Truth About God Fearin' Women
Review: Jill Conner Browne has got to be one of the funniest women I've ever experienced. She speaks the absolute gut-bustin' truth about southern women and our many trials and tribulations. We can all relate to something in her books. After reading the books, I went to Jackson to meet the Sweet Potato Queens and walk in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. What an eye-opening, life-altering experience! Those women know how to throw a party and leave their inhibitions at home. I had the absolute best time of my life!!!

Review: I LOVE THIS BOOK! Read it in a single day this summer sitting by the pool --- snickering all the while. Warning: if you read this in public, you will be asked CONSTANTLY what you're laughing at. I can't reccomend this book highly enough.

Review: I enjoyed the book, but found a few places where I thought the men-bashing went too far. But moments of comedy are sprinkled throughout. And the 5-man concept is right on target - one can't expect 1 man to provide everything one desires - it takes at least 5. Lover, friend, sugardaddy, fix-it man, and father of your children, as I recall. :)

Summary: Sweet Potato Queens Book of Love
Review: I picked this book for my bookclub based solely upon the glowing reviews on this site. I was the only one to finish the book - and I only did so because I felt obligated to. This book is just too silly and over - the - top. I got the impression that this book is working too hard to shock you - it's too in your face, trying too hard to impress you with its antics. There is a message to be found in the book - a "moral of the story" if you will, but I'm not sure it is worth the effort.

Review: The Sweet Potato Queens are fabuously funny and irrepresible girls/ladies/women...all the titles with all the humor. We have started a loosely knit group of Queens in Kentucky based on Jill Connor Browne's too funny handbook. After you read her book, you may not actually do all the things she suggests, but you will want to in some part of your heart. Reading her book can brighten up any party with stories from it. It's a funny must to read.
