Summary: Non-southerns may not get it -- but they should
Review: I am a Southern man, so I have known some Queen-like women, so this book appealed to me. My sister recommended it to me, and I have given (or will give) it as gifts to three others. Admittedly, non-Southerners may not "get it," but that just demonstrates that the South is still a culturally distinct region. Read it and laugh.

Summary: A real hoot.
Review: I have just returned home and to my computer from hearing Jill Conner Brown speak at our local community college. She is as entertaining in person as her writing. If you EVER have a n opportunity to hear her do so! From Mississippi, I will certainly try to go to the St. Pat.'s Day Parade. Her book sold out before I could get one autographed. :-(

Summary: easy reading and very entertaining!!
Review: This was one of the funniest books I've ever read. Being a southerner helped, because even though I'm not from Jackson, I have been to Hal and Mal's and I own a piece of pottery from Gail Pittman. I can't wait to have Miss America parties with my girlfriends. (and drink margaritas!) This book really makes you laugh out loud, and so much of it is true!!!

Summary: not impressed
Review: while i had a few chuckles, this is a book to titilate the guys and a few straight girls who don't get out much. with all the hype, i expected more. disappointed.

Summary: Great book! Great humor! Great women!
Review: I've read this book TWICE now. Once when first published and again more recently--I didn't want to forget ONE MORSEL of advice or humor. This is a sassy bunch of gals and they KNOW it! I've had the chance to be in Jackson for the Paddy's Day Parade and have had the pleasure seeing the Queens work the crowds. I've enjoyed them and this book so much that I think I'm going in drag next year to see if they'll accept me as the lowest wannabe. Frankly, I don't understand the few bad reviews seen here. They are so mean-spirited and catty that I must assume they are from some VERY FRUSTRATED women whose husbands/ex-husbands have been snagged by one or all of the Queens. Or either from men who have been dumped (or worse, never got the chance to make it that far) by a Queen. Oh, well...c'est la vie. It's a great read and a hoot to boot!

Summary: LAUGHED MY SOUTHERN LADY'S ASS RIGHT OFF THE BED
Review: If ya'll don't like this book, you need to come South and get a sense of humor. Laughed till I cried. Invoking "the promise" must be Southern pecularity! I'm definately a wannabe. Check out their website. Too tacky for words!

Summary: Funniest book I have ever read!
Review: I read this book in the Birmingham AL airport and laughed so long and loud that my husband moved away and tried to disassociate himself from me. These ladies are a hoot and half! I'm from the South and I can identify with the Queens - you just gotta love them!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: the first time I laughed out loud while reading a book
Review: A truly wonderful book of having fun and enjoying friendships, doing for one another and loving life in general

Summary: Not Very Impressed With The Tammys...
Review: All these good reviews make me think that the Tammys have been doing some writing of their own. I found this book to be boring and a little pretentious (o.k. alot). I became tired of all the fabrication and the delusions of gradeur. Not the worst book I have ever read, but close.

Summary: Fat Bottomed Girls Make The Rockin' World Go Down
Review: Hey Ladies! I personally did not enjoy this book, because I do not like reading about loose, divorced, bitter women. Just a thought-- It made me thankful though, that I am not a wannabe or a queen. I do not like to follow suit with ANYBODY, especially these women. I may have to drive to Mississippi and see what all the fuss is about first hand.
