Summary: 5 men you must have to be prepared!
Review: If you haven't read it, do it. The whining negative comments: who are you people? Did you pick your life up in a garage sale? Goodness! Rebecca Wells is a genius, and so is Jill, but their books are two totally different things with completely different purposes.

You need 5 men, you many different works of art to round out your life and to be prepared to live, love and laugh. If you need instruction in restoring joy to your life, call someone named Tammy and get yourself a new boa! See y'all at the parade!

Summary: Sweet Potato Queens Book of Love
Review: Definitely among the best books I've read. It simultaneously offers hilarious anecdotes while resolving some of life's most intriguing mysteries. Ms. Browne reduces extremely complex thoughts into succinct, memorable stories that heal the soul and explain the world. I refuse to loan my copy, I keep it nearby for handy reference. I recommend to everyone.

Summary: Don't Forget the Men!
Review: "The Sweet Potato Queens' Book of Love" is the most uproariously funny book I've read in years! Not only will Southen women enjoy it, but I guarantee that every Southern man will not be able to put it down. It is THE MOST irreverent look at the institution of Southern Womanhood in print. I can name off a dozen of the women I know who could be a Tammy. Gone are the days of flowing ball gowns and demure blushing flowers! These are the true women of the South. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever known a Southern Belle or to those who would like to.

Summary: A Must Read for any Southern Girl!
Review: Oh My! If you are from anywhere in the south and a female, you must get this book quickly. The truth to all our tricks has been told. You will also learn lots more along the way. A joy to read each line!

Summary: Laugh Out Loud Funny - and ALL true!
Review: I bought this book last week and today ordered 3 more copies to give away to friends who are also "women of a certain age". In a recent column of the NY Times Book Club someone noted that the latest club selections, although good, were somewhat depressing. The call went out for books that were not only good but funny, and this one definitely fills the bill. It's laugh out loud funny, doubly so because the observations all hit home - they are sooooooo true! I particularly enjoyed the chapters "The True Magic Words Guaranteed to Get Any Man to Do Your Bidding" and "Men Who May Need Killing, Quite Frankly". Although the Sweet Potato Queens may all live near Jackson, Mississippi, I find that the wisdom within these pages are universal truths. A big thank you from a "sister" Queen in California.

Summary: Great advice while you laugh your head off!
Review: Get great advice while you laugh your head off! The SPQs can save you many hours in therapy by reading their advice on life. One of the more profound bits of wisdom from their book is to "be particular." After the reading the book several weeks ago I'm still thinking about how much more satisfying some areas of my life could have been if I had 'been particular.' Also included are some great recipes to help you get through the rough spots in life. The recipe for "Oh God" more than lives up to its name. Don't wait. Read this book today and pass it on to your friends.

Summary: In praise of the Gospel of the Sweet Potato Queens!
Review: This book should be deemed a MUST for all women (southern or otherwise) to read... and read often. Verily, I have shared this book and it's subject matter with my female friends and fiends to enlighten and CONFIRM what we already know and practice... with a vow to become organized, united and vigilant in our quest for the perfection of Queen-Status (you do know, all southern women ARE Queens by birth, and occasionally by girth)... and to remember the POWER of The Promise. Kudos! The Nashville Chapter of wannabe-Wannabe's bow down in respect and awe to Her Majesty and all the Tammys!

Summary: Sweet Potato Power
Review: I new I was the queen of something, I just never knew what. After reading The Sweet Potato Queens'Book of Love, I finally have identified my calling. This book makes you yearn for St. Patrick's Day and a round trip ticket to Jackson Mississippi. This is a must read for anyone who has grown up in the South, and fully understand big hair and big pagents!

Summary: It's the Gospel Truth!
Review: Well, imagine our suprise when we came across this book that tells it like it is for women over 40. I think the younger generations would probably still be too dumb to get it, but those of us who rememeber when Miss America was the best looking girl in America rather than some bogus scholarship pagent will enjoy this book. Browne tells it like it is and gives advice that is right on the money. I got the book from a friend who gave it to my Momma to give it to me. Of course, Momma read it first and then passed it on to me. We just thought this book was the funniest thing ever written, but the finest quality of this book is that it is all so true! Momma and I bought copies for all our family and friends. Brown gives advice on everything from how to get what you want from a male EVERYTIME to how to get rid of a possum under the bed. In addition there are a couple of great recipes for overcoming just about any occasion life might offer. If you want to laugh until your side splits or find out that you have kindred sisters out there who miss that thrilling feeling of riding on the back of a convertable with a crown sparkling in sun, then this book is a can't miss. Remember, there are just thousands of books out there to read, and we certainly don't have time to read them all. So, we must BE PARTICULAR. Read this one. It's entirely too good to miss!
