I bought ALL the other FANCY books but go back to Karen's book (AND website) every day. This book is for LC addicts!! A recipe for every taste and level of ambition. No typos! Very impressive. Accurate and explicit instructions. Folds flat and wipes clean. Everything I want/need in a cookbook.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Nothing special Review: There are lots of other LC books out there with more imaginative (and tastier) recipes. I was disappointed in many of the recipes and found myself throwing away some of them, specifically the Mockaroni and Cheese. (and I HATE to waste food.)But, there are some good ideas in there. If you're a collector of LC cookbooks, might be good to have it. (Every book has SOMETHING to offer.) But, if you're picking and choosing ... I'd look somewhere else. I'd be afraid to recommend this book to beginners though, because they could get discouraged from the low carb eating, and that's a shame, as I feel it's a great healthy "diet". I've lost 50 lbs and never felt hungry. And with interesting recipes, I never felt deprived.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best low carb cookbook yet Review: This book is the best low carb cookbook that I have found. Tehre are many recipes that you already have the ingredients in your home. There is a large variety of recipes to choose from. Some are quite easy and some can be as complicated as you want them to be.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Must-Have For Low Carb!! Review: This cookbook has opened up a whole new world of low-carb eating to me. The recipes are more than manageable for someone with little kitchen experience - like myself. Everything I have made has been fabulous and enjoyed by my whole family!! I recommend this book whole-heartedly!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: If you need accurate carb counts, look elsewhere Review: This cookbook is jam packed with a wide variety of recipes, and the white space beneath shorter recipes is filled in with "helpful household hints." Personally, I found the crammed print and obsessive use of all white space made it visually tiring and hard to read. Others might like the abundant information. All measurements are in both English and Metric, which is helpful when occassionally one goes missing. The few recipes I've tried so far have all been tasty, although most of the baked goods rely heavily on specialty flours and powders, including soy protein isolate and wheat gluten, making them no good for those who are allergic. HOWEVER ... I had to calculate my own carb counts for every one, since the book only estimates them, with descriptions like "between 4 and 8 carbs per serving." The author admits in the beginning that she did not run these recipes by a nutritionist, and therefore, all the carb calculations, even the ones specified down to the tenth, are only her best guesses. If you've got some leeway in your diet, and only want "low carb" without specifying how low, you'll probably enjoy this cookbook, and appreciate the new recipes this brings to your table. If you're at the beginning stages of your diet, and are counting every tenth of a gram, give it a skip, and go for a professional cookbook, like Fabulous Low-Carb Cuisine.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Lowcarb Cookbook!!! Review: This is a must have cookbook for your lowcarb lifestyle! This cookbook is used so often in my house, it's never put away. It's full of delicious, easy recipes ... the bake mix recipe alone is worth the price of the book. Every recipe I've fixed, without exception, has been delicious. And my non-lowcarb family loves them too.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I use this cookbook nearly every day!!! Review: This is by far the best cookbook I have in my kitchen. Whether you want something quick and simple, or a gourmet meal, you can find it in this book. It is easy to read and understand. For those who have chosen the low-carb way of life, Cooking TLC Vol. 1 is a must-have. I am anxiously awaiting Vol. 2!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Low Carbohydrate the whole family can eat! Review: This is by far the best low carb cookbook I have used. The recipes are easy and the best part is you get a recipe so you can make your OWN BAKE MIX! No off taste when using the TLC bake mix in brownies, peanut butter cupcakes and lemon poppyseed bread. Most dessert carb counts are below 5 carbs per serving and the savory recipes are even lower. My favorite recipe is the Peanut Nirvana. I can't say enough good things about this book and you get "technical" support through her website included in the book. My kids love the pizza bake and jerky recipes as well as the Heavenly Mousse! The website has full color photos of each recipe, too! (...) I often log on just to look at a photo before I make something. You can ask questions straight to the author if you need a little extra help....like I do. A must have for the holidays and would make a great gift for anyone doing Atkins, Protein Power, Carbohydrate Addicts Diet or even the Zone. It's really the only cookbook you will use after you try a few recipes.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Best Low Carb Cookbook I've seen Review: This is my favorite cookbook. The recipes are real "home cooking" dishes that are perfect for family fare. They are easy to prepare and do not require lots of strange, exotic ingredients. I have made quite a few of the recipes and every single one turned out great. The recipe for the low carb baking mix alone is worth the price of the book.
