Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Worth the money! Review: I followed low carb for over a year the first time I tried it. Best way to live! However, the second time around was not so easy. I wanted more than just meat, eggs, and veggies. Cooking TLC gave me the insight I needed and opened up my eyes to the world of lowcarbing. There was so much more to this way of life than I ever knew. I have used several of the recipes and loved them all. Some of the ingredients are more difficult to find that your local trip to the grocery store but it's not that big of a deal. I have had no problem buying several items online and they last a long time. My husband was suffering from terrible heartburn and decided to give lowcarb a try. I showed him the cookbook and he said WOW you can make all these things? (His heartburn is now gone.) As for the Carb counts being accurate, you will have to make sure the counts are accurate on your own. It will be the same with ANY low carb cookbook you buy. The manufacturers of the ingredients/products carb count vary so it will be up to you to read the labels. You should anyway! That aspect is out of the writer's control. Not a big deal. I want to know what I am putting into my body anyway. If nothing else this book will show you that you can cook muffins, breads, desserts and delicious meals and still avoid all that nasty sugar! I have lost close to 40lbs and I feel better than ever. Worth the money!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Cooking TLC: Truly Low Carb Cooking Volume 1 Review: I found the TLC cookbook to be a VERY big help to me in starting my new way of eating! The recipes I have tried have been wonderful! This book has helped me stick with it, seeing the pictures of the author and how far she has come has been an inspiration, it is obvious eating this way can become a lifelong thing. There are a few "specialty" items you will need for a handful of recipes but they are easy to find online and I have found they are less expensive than getting them local. This book is definitely worth the price for anyone considering doing low carb or any already on low carb - they will find out they will miss NOTHING!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best low carb cookbook around!!! Review: I have been on a low carb lifestyle for approx. 1-1/2 years now.. and I don't think I would of made it past month 4, if not for the TLC cookbook!!! It is filled with wonderful scrumptious recipes. Everything from appetizers to fabulous low carb bread... The recipes are extrememly user friendly, filled with step by step instructions, and use most everyday products, unlike other low carb cookbooks out there, that you spend days even weeks trying to locate from "far and out places"...not too mention the cost of them. My ultimate favorite condiment from her book is the "TLC BBQ Sauce", it's the real deal... it's thick, it's rich, it's tangy, smokey... my family's favorite meal is her "mock-a-roni & cheese"... "too die for" Thank you for your hard work and awesome recipes, you have made this "low carb" family's meal... a wonderful event!!

The recipies are developed and tested with love by someone who truly cares that the results are perfect. It includes many things you thought you couldn't have on low carb, or thought you would never an acceptable low carb substitute. The book is well rounded, including everything for a complete meal from appetizers to dessert. The sauces are to die for. The Peanut Nirvana is a must try. So are the Peanut Butter cupcakes, the Chicken Alfredo, cheese crisps, and cheese pots.

I have tried every other low carb cookbook out there, and none even come close. The recipes are easy to follow, and the tips included are really helpful. Can't wait for the next volume!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The way we were meant to eat... Review: I have purchased 5 or 6 copies of this book and have given away all but one of them. The recipes in this cookbook are incredibly easy to follow, and for someone like myself who has not spent much time in the kitchen, that aspect of the book is critical and much appreciated. Detailed descriptions are given for everything. When I first began my low carb journey I was resigned to eating food that satisfied me physically but was rather repetitious. With Truly Low Carb Cooking I have experienced something very different. Karen Rysavy has shown us that there is virually nothing that cannot be converted to a low carbohydrate way of eating, and most of this can be done by using ingredients that are readily available to most people. It is variety that helps us stick with a particular way of living. This cookbook is surely that, and more. It contains helpful household and cooking hints, as well as recipes for a wide variety of dishes that are truly a pleasure to eat. Creamy Cucumbers, Heavenly Mousse, Catsup, Creamy Seafood Bake - the variety is amazing! I recommend this book without reservation! Put this on your Christmas list for yourself or the food afficionado in your life!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A tool worth the cost Review: I have read the TLC cookbook and use several of the recipies as kitchen standards. I was one of the first to buy the original edition, in fact. My authographed copy returns me to days when both the author and myself were just beginning our low carb journey. Seventy-seven pounds and two years later, I am still low carbing and quite satisfied with the results. The TLC Cookbook is worth buying. In my "original" edition, only carb counts are mentioned. For me to rate the book above four stars I would have liked a little bit more nutritional information provided. If the revised/updated TLC Cookbook includes a bit more detail nutrition-wise -- I'd give it a full five, sparkling, brilliant stars. Do yourself a favor and buy the TLC Cookbook.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Pleasantly surprised Review: I just bought this book a month or so ago, and I really enjoy the recipes and helpful household hints. Some of the recipes don't really taste exactly like the high carb alternative, for example; the Clam Chowder and the Beef Stroganoff, HOWEVER they still taste REALLY good! I love the chicken alfredo, and it is just so great to have some variety and different flavors in our meals! I have yet to make the bake mix, it took me a while to hunt down some of the ingredients but now I have them all and am ready to BAKE! Excellent instructions, easy to read and very clear. LOVE THIS BOOK! I feel there is hope for actually making low carb a life style, rather than a temporary way to lose weight.
