Summary: YUMMMM
Review: I am a horrible and lazy cook. Plus I'm on a diet and I'm a vegetarian. So cooking is a bit of a chore for me. I've only made one soup from this book so far (creamy carrot) but it was super easy and extremely delicious. The most difficult part was chopping up the carrots! The entire soup only had four ingredients plus salt, pepper and a splash of olive oil. And let me tell you, it tastes outrageously rich and creamy! I've already picked out two more recipes I plan to make this week. They both sound very easy and delectable. My big pet peeve about other cookbooks is that you have to drive all over town to buy obscure ingredients you'll never use again. Not so with Saved by Soup. All of the ingredients are easy to find, and also, there aren't that many ingredients in each recipe, which is a godsend for singletons like myself. I highly recommend this book!!! The only thing that would improve it would be more photos. I'm a very visual person and prefer to have a photo of every recipe.

Summary: The Best
Review: I am a soup addict and this is my favorite soup cookbook to date. I love the photos as well. My faves are the Lemony Chickpea and Escarole, Red bean and Barley , Garlicky White Bean and Spinach and Lusty Leek and Potato soup. Lots of vegetarian choices!

There are two things I've been craving for, this book & a nice cup of s o y f e e. You brew just like coffee and NO CAFFEINE! I can't believe it's made from so ybeans cause it taste just like coffee. Look for it online at ww.s o y coffee.com. Like the book, a great find!

This is really a "Best Soup Cookbook".

Summary: Excellent so far!
Review: I bought this book based on the recommendations I read here, and I have not been disappointed. I made the Lemony Chickpea and Escarole soup the other night, and it was very, very good. It was simple, quick, required few ingredients, and tasted great. There are lots of what appear to be the same type of recipes in this book. I look forward to using this book frequently, especially for quick and warming lunches.

Summary: It works! I gave it to all my friends.
Review: I bought this for easy & tasty soup recipes, which it delivers in ladles. An added bonus was an effortless 10-pound weight loss. There's enough variety for any palate and a lot of the soups freeze well. I use this at least three times a week, even after owning it five months.

Summary: Saved by Soup
Review: I have never felt more of a need to comment on any book. I have over 800 cookbooks and this is a daily user. I have made over half of the soups and the book is simply amazing. ALL of the recipes rate 5 stars. A MUST BOOK in all homes.

Summary: Eye-catching and user-friendly cookbook makes dieting easy!
Review: I won't lie... I was Saved by Soup. I buy low-fat, low-calorie cookbooks all the time, but the sad truth is that most of them end up on the same never-touched shelf in my kitchen. I just don't have that much time to cook, and it never feels worth it to me when the food always ends up tasting bland and never fills me up. However, when I noticed that some of that holiday season weight gain had long outlasted the decorations on my tree, I decided to take the low-fat, low-cal cookbook plunge one last time. I swear, this book changed my life. The recipies are so easy even I can do them, and are such that I can cook whenever I have time (and it never takes much) and then re-heat or complete the finishing touches on the soup when I'm ready to eat! The soups, unlike most "diet foods" are delicious, filling, and just plain yummy, and I always get that (new for me) feeling of "oh my gosh I actually made that beautiful tasty dish!" Oh, and the best part? I've had the book for a month now and already the pounds are slipping away. I honestly have nothing negative to say...you're just absolutely crazy if you don't buy this book.

Summary: A great cookbook
Review: I've never written a review or a fan letter before, but we just had the Zuppa of Farro with Tomatoes and Spinach for dinner, and I felt compelled to do something. It was wonderful, as were almost every soup we've had from the book. The only one that wasn't exquisite was at least very good - at least as good as you'd get in most good restaurants. We've used twelve of the recipies. Eleven were exquisite and one very good. We would have had more, but it's hard not to want the same ones over and over.

This is a great cookbook.

Summary: Best cookbook purchase I've ever made
Review: I've tried at least 10 of these recipes. Every time I make a new soup my husband says, "This is the best soup I've ever had." "Saved by Soup" is one of my very favorite cookbooks; I bet I use it at least once a week -- winter, spring, summer, fall.

Summary: Best Soup Cookbook....here's why
Review: If you want to make healthy, high-flavor soups that meet or beat soups found in the best restaurants, try the recipes in this book. They are no-fail, easy, and most of the 106 recipes use items people stock in their kitchen. My favorite soups from this book have become staples of my cooking repertoire and I've served them for everyday meals and for dinner parties. Before I married my soup-loving husband 18 months ago, I searched many cookbooks for soup recipes (and still do), and Saved By Soup is the best collection I've found. When a friend gave us a box of fresh, home-grown tomatoes last month, I made the Creamy Tomato Bisque with Shallots and Tarragon. It tasted like something you'd be served in a good bistro. My husband loved it. The Old-Fashioned Split Pea Soup, The Comfort Chicken Soup with Rice and Spinach (go easy on the cumin and nutmeg), Old-Fashinoned Chicken Noodle Soup and Pasta E Fagioli are all winners. The liquid from the Tropical Fruit Soup has become my standard fruit salad dressing and the Pear and Red Wine Soup makes a great dessert. Buy the book and an immersible stick blender and you are ready to go. If you want a second soup cookbook, I recommend Williams-Sonoma "Soup" and try the Puree of Vegetable Soup. Enjoy.
