Rating: Summary: Disappointing if you want it for the COOKIE recipes Review: After reading the positive reviews, I bought this book. The introduction said "a few" recipes contain date sugar. When I went to the section on cookies, I found that all but three of the cookies recipes contain date sugar...usually 1 to 1.5 cups!
There are many other books that focus on fruit-sweetened baking...if cookies are your interest, I'd recommend looking at others first.
Rating: Summary: The I can"t believe this has no sugar" Review: I did not like this book too much because the sugar substitute that she uses sometimes, like rice syrup is very difficult to find. I do not recomend this book.
Rating: Summary: ingredients difficult to find Review: I like that the recipes are sugar-free and also avoid artificail sweeteners. The muffins I made were great, but I can't find Minute Maid pineapple juice concentrate or unsweetened grape juice concentrate. These are ingredients in many of the recipes.

Rating: Summary: pecan pie recipe Review: I made this pie for my diabetic husband for Christmas. He could not tell the difference, thank you for such a gift.
Rating: Summary: So far, this book has been great!! Review: I've tried three of the recipes so far. All have been received with much enthusiasm by my daughter, who must limit her intake of refined sugar. The ones I've really enjoyed so far have been the Apple pie and the Brownies. My daughter enjoyed the brownies so much that she wanted them made as a bithday cake. If the rest of the recipes in the book are this good, I would highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Non-dairy, Sugar Free Recipes that Actually Taste Good! Review: If you've been told that you can't have dairy or refined sugars and don't want to experiment with "traditional" recipes, this book is for you. Recipes are well written and easy to follow. They even produce food that tastes good. For once, my boyfriend, who usually dislikes my attempts at non-dairy, sugar-free cooking, asked for seconds! For my first test, I made Baking Powder Biscuits. Awesome! They came out flaky and tasty. (If you don't like a lot of salt, you might want to reduce the amount required.) For my second test, I made the fudge. Another tasty treat.

Rating: Summary: Good sweet tooth satisfying recipes for restricted diets Review: The recipes in this book are very tasty. They are excellent for people who need to eliminate refined sugar from their diets. As most of the recipes call for fruit juice concentrates or other sugar sources one must pay careful attention to the diabetic exchange guidelines. My favorite recipes are the muffins and breads. I purchased the book to reduce the amount of sugar in my childrens diet as I felt it triggered hyperactivity. Most ingredients are available at the super market. A few require a trip to a well stocked health food store. The blueberry muffins are - quick and easy.
