Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: This cookbook has quickly become one of my favorites. I love the corn-meal crusted tempeh recipe and the barbecued tempeh-chipotle burger. This book has an elegant variety of dishes that is great if you are having guests over. Also, in the middle of the book are some lovely pictures. I am so glad I added this book to my collection because the recipes are unlike any in my other cookbooks.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: This cookbook is wonderful! The recipes are great and they are even easy enough for a pathetic cook like me! EXCELLENT!

Summary: Got a job or a life? Skip it.
Review: This cookbook's complicated recipies require you to shop, chop, and cook as though you've got a sous chef. Worse, there are no nutrition or time tables. I'll seldom, if ever, use this book.

Summary: One of my favorite cookbooks!
Review: This is an excellent vegan cookbook, with down to earth recipes that you can make for anyone, not just vegans. The ingredients are easy to find, and there are lots of recipes in each category, including appetizers which are sometimes in short supply in vegan cookbooks. Everything I've made has turned out very well, and are quick enough for everyday. Don't miss this one!

Summary: One of my favorites
Review: This is one of the best vegan cookbooks I've owned. From appetizers (Candle Cafe's Mezze Platter p.14, Seitan Skewers with Chimichurri Citrus Herb Sauce p.20, Roasted Pepper and Olive Tapenade p.27) to soups (Sweet Corn Chowder p.49, Black Bean Soup p.62), salads (Candle Cobb Salad with Carrot Ginger Dressing p.68, Roasted Vegetable Salad with Roasted Garlic Dressing p.78, Spicy Soba Salad with Creamy Wasabi Dressing p.86), and sandwiches (Tempeh Ruben Sandwiches p.95)...I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

The recipes are well written, easy to follow and don't include a lot of exotic ingredients which send one running to 5 or 6 different shops to find. The only out of the ordinary purchases I've made for a couple of the recipes is Kombu and Hiziki, and each were available at my health food store.

The only thing I'd wish for is more pictures. There is a photo section in the middle of the book which highlights a few recipes from each category, but I'd like to see more.

I'd recommend this cookbook to anyone, vegan or not. Everything I've made so far has been absolutely delicious.

Summary: the only way to go...
Review: Whenever I am in NYC I eat at this restaurant and thank goodness I can finally replicate the food at home. I've never met restauranteurs who take so much pride in their work, and the cookbook is a wonderful tool to continue their vegetarian mission with absolutely savory food to boot. I HIGHLY suggest this cookbook!
