Summary: Awesome Cookbook
Review: When I started the Low-Carb diet I thought I would live on scrambled eggs and sausage and plain steak forever! I ordered this cookbook and found a whole world of yummy, great foods. These recipes are easy and quick. My favorite section is the desserts! If you are on the low-carb diet definitely buy this cookbook! Excellent!

Summary: Satisfied customer
Review: I read all the reviews for this book before purchasing it, and have to say... you were all right! This is the best cookbook for low-carb I have found. I have already earmarked over half the book. I've made up some so far and am so happy. I wish there was a sequel with even more of Lauri's recipes in it. If you like simple recipes but not so simple food, that is a step above grilled chicken, then this is the book. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Summary: New Hope!
Review: I'm so glad I found this cookbook! Anyone on the Adkin's Diet can attest to the need for variety! My husband and I are firm believers of Dr Adkin's, we've lost quite a few pounds in just a few months, but the recipes he includes, could be simplified for the average person. This book has been a wonderful help. The desserts are especially welcomed, and Lauri's opening comments are refreshing. It's good to hear from someone dieting in the "real" world! Thanks so much!

Summary: I Simply Love this Cookbook
Review: I have 5 low carb cookbooks and this one I simply love and certainly use the most. If you have been low carbing for a while, then you know that the key to sticking with the diet in keeping variety in your meals. I'm an OK cook, but I totally lack imagination. I need recipes in order to not bore myself with the same few things. Lauri provides the imagination which I lack. I am so impressed with the variety, simplicity and abundance of flavor in every recipe I have tried! Lauri has provided a"~ wonderful collection of recipes from around the world: Italian, Mexican, French, Asian, American and stuff from who knows where! It's easy to stay on the diet with so many delicious choices. I know that this cookbook is fairly new but I hope that she writes another one soon."~ loved it too, so it will grace our table again in the not too distant future.

Summary: My Constant Companion in the Kitchen
Review: Last year I watched a co-worker totally transform herself on the Atkins diet. So I went out and bought Dr. Atkins' book and cookbook, but didn't start the diet until the first of this year. The induction period (the first 2 weeks) were not too bad, I mostly lived on T-bone steaks, but the next 2 weeks were disasterous! To me, cooking is "throw it on the grill" or "pop it in the microwave". After the induction period, I was tired of steaks and so I gave my best shot at Dr. Atkins' recipes. Each night I sat down to what can not be called a meal. After a few bites, it usually got tossed into the trash and I would drive off to McDonald's or some other place not in keeping with the diet. Then the next morning I would vow to try again. I not only gained the 11 lbs I lost during the induction period I gained a few extra bonus pounds.

Not to be defeated, I talked to my co-worker and she told me about "Lauri's Low-Carb Cookbook" and I bought it immediately. She was right, there are plenty of simple and yummy recipes! I'm now back on track. In February, I not only lost 16 lbs but I'm also learning how to cook! Just as the cover says, Lauri's Low-Carb Cookbook is my constant companion in the kitchen. Thank you Lauri, for some simple and tasty recipes. Soon, I might even try some of the more challenging recipes.

If you too are "cooking-impaired" but want to lose weight on a low-carb diet, then this is the cookbook for you - I guarantee!

Summary: Fast, fantastic recipes with everyday foods!
Review: Without going into too many details, let me just say that THIS COOKBOOK is the only reason my wife and I are still on the Atkins diet. We bought four cookbooks (all highly recommended), only to find that, while providing tasty recipes, three of the cookbooks asked for all manner of "fancy" ingredients. Stuff not normally found in our "average" kitchen. Expensive stuff. And many of the recipes weren't quite as low-carb as we had hoped (20g for one serving?).

Lauri's cookbook took care of those problems. I think the only "fancy" ingredients we had problems with were Kitchen Bouquet (it was in the gravy section at the store) and shallots (never had one before). The rest is just plain, everyday ingredients. And low-carb? All of her recipes list the nutritional information right there. It's nice to eat a large, tasty dinner with only 2.3g per serving! Most of the recipes are below 10g, and many are below 5g. Serving size is very generous.

I consider this book to be the best diet/way-of-eating investment I've made so far. This cookbook is just too good to pass up.

Summary: THIS is the LC Cookbook to Get
Review: If you have been researching LC cookbooks and cant decide which one to go with, this is the one to get. I found it to have a great variety of tasty recipes that are quick and easy to prepare using normal and easy to find ingredients. It makes preparing my grocery list very easy. The format is well done and the helpful hints are just that. You can tell a lot of thought and time went into this book. Cant go wrong here.

Summary: Would have given 0 stars but that wasn't an option!
Review: If you're on the Zone diet, this book is NOT for you!

I was so excited when I saw this book. It was even recommended for people on the Zone diet, like me. But I was so disappointed when I got the book that I'm returning it.

The recipes are SO HIGH in fat! For example: Pork Korma p. 135, 260.4 g fat per serving (yes, two-hundred sixty-four, that's not a typo!)...Almond Chicken p. 146, 147.3 g fat per serving...Mediterranean Chicken p 161, 150.3 g fat per serving...Grilled Pork Chops with Chive Cream p 127, 156.6 g fat per serving... They're not all this extreme, but you see my point?

Just because a person is on a low-carb diet doesn't mean she has to wallow in fat! The Zone "preaches" moderation...there's nothing moderate about hundreds of grams of fat in your dinner entree. If you're on the Zone diet, this book is NOT for you!

Summary: My Favorite Low Carb Cookbook
Review: This is my favorite low carb cookbook! I started the Atkins diet in August and lost 20 lbs in 5 weeks! But then I stopped losing because I started cheating - the diet was just way too boring for me. I'm not a very imaginitive cook and found myself eating the same few things over and over again. Then I went out and bought every low carb cookbook that I could find. Lauri's Low-Carb Coookbook is my favorite by far! I use it the most because for the most part the recipes are easy and tasty. I've even come up with some of my own variations based on Lauri's recipes. I am now losing weight again. I have a lot of variation in my diet thanks to Lauri's Low-Carb Cookbook and I know that variation is the key to success.

Summary: A varied menu is a low-carb dieter's greatest resource!
Review: I bought the first edition of this cookbook and liked it a lot, so I ordered this revised edition and could not be more pleased! Lauri has a terrific imagination and a flair for creative cooking - an absolute necessity for low-carbing. Easy to follow instructions, "normal" ingredients and reasonable carb allowances. Don't miss out on this one!
