Summary: highest recommendation
Review: I can usually pick up this cookbook and throw together something delicious WITHOUT a special trip to the grocery store. Most recipes use a short list of common ingredients, and deliver outstanding results. I have added several recipes to the list of favorites that I return to time and time again. If I had to throw away all but one cookbook, this would be the one I would keep.

Summary: This is my all-time favorite cookbook!
Review: I cook from this cookbook 2-3 times a week and have not yet hit a recipe that I didn't love. It is the best cookbook in my collection and I'm not even vegetarian! This cookbook has my family eating greens, brown rice and other whole foods and loving it.

Summary: BEST BOOK IN THE MOOSEWOOD SERIES
Review: I HAVE ALL THE MOOSEWOOD BOOKS AND THIS ONE IS MY HANDS-DOWN FAVORITE. ALL THE RECIPES I HAVE TRIED HAVE BEEN DELICIOUS, SIMPLE TO PREPARE AND THE RECIPES ARE BLESSED WITH THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL, SHORT INGREDIENT LISTS. THIS IS THE COOKBOOK I LOOK TO FIRST WHEN I WANT A GOOD MEAL PAINLESSLY.

Summary: A Classic!
Review: I have had this book since it was first published and my weathered, stained, dog-eared copy can attest to the practical and delicious recipes it contains. A great variety of foods--my favorites are the Red, Gold, Black, and Green Chili, Pasta Tutto Giardino ("the whole garden" pasta with a light cream sauce), Tomatican (a vegetarian adaptation of a Chilean stew with tomatoes, corn, lima beans), and Vegetable Stifado (a Meditarranean-style stew with eggplant, okra, and peppers), and Fish with Tomato-Orange Salsa. All get rave reviews when I cook them for company. Most are not only vegetarian but also lowfat. There are still dishes I haven't tried because I like the ones I have tried too much! My parents have this cookbook and love it, and they aren't even vegetarian. You can't go wrong with any Moosewood cookbook, but this is by far my favorite. Easy to follow, simple and delicious!

Summary: My FAVORITE Cookbook
Review: I have several favorites in this book and this book is by far my favorite. The Raviolli with artichoke hearts and black bean soups are big hits at my house! Not only are the recipies fast and easy but they give you fast tips...like squeezing the tomatoes into the soup or cut them in the can with a knife. It takes longer to clean up than cook these meals!

Summary: Fast easy delicious
Review: I have three requirements for recipes to enter my frequent rotation: that they be healthy, yummy, and, above all, fast and easy. (Is that 4 requirements?) Almost all of the recipes in this book meet those.

This is the cookbook that I use the most. The pages are covered with spills, tearing, falling out. That's the mark of a fine cookbook. Maybe it's time for me to buy another copy.

Summary: fantastic!
Review: I just received this cookbook last week and have been cooking from it almost exclusively - the recipies are inventive, not the same old spices or dishes, they don't take long to cook yet the flavors are complex. I'm so pleased with it!

Summary: This Moosewood Cook Book has become my cooking bible
Review: I own all the Moosewood cookbooks but have found this one to be the most "user friendly". The recipes are delicious, fast, and many are suitable for serving company. I reach for it over and over again.

Summary: ANOTHER GLOWING REVIEW!
Review: I own many cookbooks, but this is the one I use most often. I cannot praise it highly enough.

If you think you don't have time to cook, this book may prove you wrong. Most of the recipes can be prepared easily, from ingredients you probably have in your pantry, in less time than it takes to order a cheese pizza from Dominos.

Summary: Amazing, even for a vegan!
Review: I own most of Moosewoods books but turn to this one most during the week because the recipes are quicker (less cooking time and/or less prep) than others in the series (say Sunday's at Moosewoods). My personal favorite has to be Curried Tofu and chickpeas. Not only is it quick to prepare, but the final dish is amazingly colorful as well as quite tasty. The entire section on packet cooking is infinitely adaptable. She uses fish in foil packets, but one could do this with tempeh(staying vegetarian) or even with chicken, if there are meat eaters around. I highly recommend this book for people who want to cook more vegetarian food at home, but can't always find the time.
